Unprofessional and Unresponsive Office - Not Recommended for Expecting Parents Rating: 1 Star My partner and I had an incredibly disappointing experience with this office during our first pregnancy. We found the staff to be disorganized, unresponsive, and lacking the sensitivity we expected during such a significant time in our lives. Our issues began with our very first appointment. Despite arriving early, we were frustrated to find out that our appointment time had been incorrectly booked. Furthermore, the dated environment and uncomfortable furniture did nothing to improve our experience. The lack of warmth and understanding from the doctor on our first visit was disheartening. We were new to the pregnancy journey and the dismissive attitude we received made us feel marginalized and unwelcome. Consequently, I had no desire to accompany my partner on future visits. On the second visit, the front desk had again made an error, this time in the type of appointment. This level of disorganization was unacceptable and led us to cancel our third appointment. For the past three weeks, we have been attempting to transfer my partner's medical records to a new, more professional office. However, this has proven near impossible. Messages left on their portal, emails, and voicemails have all gone unanswered. Even when we do manage to get through on the phone, we are told that the person who can assist us is unavailable and our messages seem to go unheard. As of now, their failure to release my partner's records is hindering her from receiving vital prenatal care. We are not only frustrated but deeply concerned as this level of negligence is unacceptable. In our experience, this office has shown a lack of regard for their patients, particularly those who are pregnant and in need of additional support and understanding. We can't fathom trusting them with something as critical as a birth. I strongly advise expecting parents to seek care elsewhere.

I am very displeased with the office in general. First it was difficult to find the office, there is very little parking, and the door to the office is kept locked (very confusing - you have to push a little buzzer to get let inside). Despite having an appointment, I waited in a full, busy waiting room for an hour and 10 minutes after my appointment time before being called back. Not exactly ideal ever, but definitely not during covid. After finally getting to the back, a medical assistant was friendly and got my history and vitals. Then it was time to change into a gown... except this is not the fabric gown I've had at every other OBGYN... this is a PAPER VEST that is long enough to barely reach the top of your hips. Then you cover your lap with another large rectangle of paper. Talk about nickel and diming - I felt I was in a third world country medical office not an "Elite" obgyn. Top it all off with a freezing cold exam room and waiting another 20 minutes for the physician to come see you. I did appreciate Dr. Shepherd. She was personable, knowledgable, and the gynecological exam was as comfortable as those exams could possibly be. She seemed a bit rushed, but I think this is not a reflection of her, but of the office requiring MDs to see a set number of patients in a set amount of time. After seeing Dr. Shepherd, I had to waiting another 20 minutes for the medical assistant to come back and draw blood for the STD screening... why wasn't this just done while she was in the first time getting the medical history? She poked me twice and was unable to get blood. I'm definitely not a hard stick but everybody has off days I suppose. The problem I had was that she acted like I should skip the blood work since she had trouble getting it. Ridiculous that I had to insist that yes, I really do want the blood work, so she can go find somebody else to come do it. Overall, would NOT recommend Elite OBGYN.

Very hard to get ahold of or get an appointment. They are so overbooked and making you feel at ease about your pregnancy is not a priority at all. The staff is nice when you’re in the office. If you have an emergency or complications, forget about them caring enough to get you in. When I was in the office I overheard a patient complaining that she was charged for her delivery and the doctor wasn’t even there for it and she was seen by another doctor not in their practice, yet they still charged her. The doctors are never available. The place has so much potential but is just understaffed and keeps on taking too many patients to be able to give them the proper care. Money over quality.

This office is TERRIBLE. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE PREGNANT. They are impossible to get ahold of, they are not organized, my partner and I were not made to feel welcome, the office is dated, the furniture is uncomfortable, and I've had nothing but a mediocre to terrible experience. I made a first time appointment a few weeks after I found out I was pregnant for 9am. My partner and I arrived to the appointment early, and started to get annoyed when everyone was going in before us. They then told us our appointment was actually made for 9:50. When we finally get with the doctor, the doctor did not make my partner feel welcome at all. We may have been their millionth patient, but it is our first pregnancy, and it seemed they had no thought about that. He did not want to go back. When I came back for my second appointment, I was told by the nurse that the front desk had me in for a wrong appointment type. I cancelled my third appointment. I have since (for over 3 weeks!!) been trying to get them to send my medical records to a new office so I could be seen by someone else. I sent a message on their portal, it took an entire week to get a call back. I emailed them my form the same day they sent it to me, and have since not gotten a response via email after multiple attempts to follow up. I call the office and they don't answer. I leave a voicemail and don't get a call back. I call again and get told that the person who can help me isn't there, and they'll leave a note. 3 weeks later they are preventing me from receiving pre-natal care because they have not released my records. I could not be more frustrated. I can't imagine having let it go all the way to the point of trusting them to be there for me for a birth.

*Aside from this review, take a look at all the one star reviews and you’ll see the same things REPEATED IN EVERY ONE.* It’s a shame I’m leaving this review because honestly I haven’t had any trouble yet with the Doctors or nurses. Dr. Sarroza has been wonderful and so compassionate towards me in regards to my second pregnancy (I was bleeding in my first trimester and was very concerned). She took the time to care for me, explain what was happening, and answer all of my questions. However, the front desk staff are the complete opposite. With my 2 previous visits, I have sat there and watched how they treated me versus other patients. I observed that if you ask them no questions and pay what they tell you to pay, they’re nice. But if you do ask questions (insurance and co-payment reasons in my case) they treat you like dirt. What the previous reviews have said about showing no care or compassion, and all they want is the money are 100% true. You could have shared that you may have just experienced a miscarriage, and they wouldn’t care. I say that because that’s what happened to me. All they’re focused on is the money and if you don’t pay up, they are pleased to cancel your appointment even if it’s significant to you. I really wish I could do more than just leaving them a bad review. Those front desk women are ruthless. I am now looking elsewhere 1) because of how the front desk staff have ruined my experience there, and 2) because my insurance has changed. But regardless if my insurance changed or not, I would not go back based on the 2 VISITS I’ve experienced there.

This rating is related to front desk staff only. They are not good. Sorry but that is the best way I can put it. The young woman helping me over the phone gave me a bunch of misinformation that left me more confused than when I had initially called. And while I was in the middle of a question said "okay thank you good bye"... This call was at 12:22pm today 11-29-2023. I hope that helps track down this front desk personnel. Luckily I called a second time right after to ask for the front desk email in hopes of receiving better service (they don't have an email), but the second older woman who assisted me was better. She actually gave me the time of day and didn't make me feel like an idiot for asking questions. I'm not sure what is going on with this front desk, and why I was told I cannot speak to a doctor or even leave a note for her. As a brand new patient this was super disappointing to say the least. Management, please either pay a higher wage to ensure good service or get rid of the current front desk staff. I will give this office one more chance as I already have an appointment booked for this upcoming Friday. I truly hope to receive better treatment from the team who is suppose to specialize in HOSPITALITY.

Everyone in the office was welcoming and respectful. Dr Shepard included. While I went for just an annual check up, Dr Shepard was completely attentive and provided good insight and information for the questions I had. Also, I fainted for the first time ever after having blood work done and Dr Shephard and her staff tended to me immediately and made sure I felt better and safe before I left.

Dr. Shepard was really amazing and made me feel so comfortable. I expressed my views on certain things and she gave me appropriate options with necessary information to make a decision, without making me feel bad. She had another young lady with her who I believe is in training, she was such a delight (I forgot her name but I did not forget the way she made me feel). My overall visit was wonderful and I’m happy I choose Dr. Shepard for my visit!

Despite really liking Dr. M, it’s not worth staying when they don’t answer the phone. Don’t refill your scripts. Don’t provide you answers. Standard scripts my out of state gyno would sent to CVS… I have to call for 3 business days just for someone to answer the phone, and when you finally get through “they’re out to lunch.” In any event, when Dr. M’s nurse, Maria finally gets back to you with attitude, as if I am an inconvenience to her- she tells me not only can she not send in a standard script without me coming in, but “maybe” she’ll have answers for me after Dr. M reads her notes tomorrow, and “she doesn’t know when” they could even get me in. PUT THAT INTO PERSPECTIVE.. Calling with an issue … and when you finally get them on the phone it’s simply too bad for you. Mind you, a simple phone call to my general physician after Elite was useless I have my script at CVS in 15 minutes. This facility is a mill. They don’t know who their clients even are. Go somewhere else, you have a choice

I can highly recommend Dr. Shepard, I’m so grateful she was my doctor during my pregnancy and my labor. She was always open to any questions I had, truly a knowledgeable and warm person. As for my labor and delivery, I could not be more thankful that she was my doctor. As difficult as my labor was, the delivery went so smoothly thanks to Dr. Shepard. She was encouraging and respectful to my wishes to be very focused while going through the pushing, realizing that I wanted silence during those moments without me having to tell everyone that was there. Also, according to my fiancé there was a moment when my daughter was arriving that he saw that was concerning with her arm and he was so impressed by how Dr. Shepard handled putting Sienna into the right position and moving the umbilical cord so quickly and smoothly. She didn’t show any signs of distress that would have possibly affected me in that moment and I was beyond grateful when my healthy daughter was placed on me. Thank you again Dr. Shepard! My family and I will always be grateful for you!

I seen Dr. Sarroza. She was AMAZING!!!! She is very informative, explained everything to my understanding ,respectful, relatable, honest, and helpful! I have been looking for the perfect Ogbyn and I honestly believe she is the one ! Also her Medial Assistant Rosey and her PA was wonderful! Nothing but great thing to say about them all. The only thing I didn’t really like was the receptionist ask me what issues was I having (which is a normal question &she was also nice ) but I didn’t feel comfortable saying my issues out loud in a very quiet waiting room for everybody to hear. But I love the office and staff as a whole !!

I love Dr. Shepherd, she is understanding and answers any questions I have. Also, she makes me feel so comfortable whenever I speak about concerns with my pregnancy. She is awesome!!!

If you are Latina and speak English, don't waste your time. The staff is racist and likes to play games! the attention by call was a joke and personally it was worse! I lost my whole morning and I was humiliated a week later…. I leave this letter just so you have an idea! How unprofessional and abusive is the staff! how to send this letter to my house after how bad and rude they treated me!!!!! It was my first time and the last time because no pregnant client who receives that racist treatment that I received by the staff would return !! Dr. Shepard I feel sorry that you are surrounded by this type of staff I am not the first person to leave bad comments about your staff you should consider checking cameras and call recordings and you will understand what type of staff you have !! because that version in this letter was not exactly what happened!! Discharged would be the staff

I have been searching for a new OB for months and I am so happy that I found Dr. Mehta! The whole staff is super sweet and respectful. Maria the nurse practitioner made me feel super comfortable and the women at the desk were just super understanding and patient. I did not feel rushed, the facility has a minimal clean look, and best of all they take many insurances. I can’t wait for my follow up appointments with Dr. Mehta, as I feel as if I am in great hands. Thank you Elite Staff for such a nice experience.

DO NOT GO HERE! I just moved to Fort Lauderdale and was due for my yearly exam. They were beyond unprofessional. It has been almost three weeks and I have yet to receive my test results back after being told 2-3 days by the doctor. I have called the office at least 5 times in the past three weeks and have been told that they have my results and that the doctor has just yet to put them in the portal for me to see. Absolutely ridiculous. The best doctor at the clinic just left the clinic, and the nurse I dealt with had strong judgemental attitude for no reason, don't even waste your time. The clinic/equipment itself also seemed sketchy compared to my other gynecologist offices back home. Very disappointed and honestly surprised they still have a license.

Never returning. I had my 1st appointment today. They called me the day before to verify insurance. I arrived to find out they never did it and it took them an hour to verify it, so even though I was 30 minutes early, they still called me back 1 hour after my scheduled appointment. The Dr- Yessi was fine. The exam itself only took 10 minutes and she talked me into doing a blood test that she claimed she’d be right back for. 45 minutes later and still no one came, so I left the room and asked someone to find her, and realized they forgot me. I did the test and she again said she’d be right back and after 15 minutes again I lost my patience and had to call the front desk from the patient room in order for them to tell the nurse I’m done. Waiting for the doctor in the patient room for AN HOUR AFTER THE EXAM FINISHED is completely unacceptable. Don’t come here unless you want to waste 3 hours of your day.

This office is so poorly run, it’s a joke and incredibly frustrating. I wish I never went here in the first place and found somewhere else. I had an appointment this morning, which had already been rescheduled by them from last week, and I got there and they said the doctor was not there. I took off from work and drove there for nothing. No one even called me. Prior to this, in other appointments, I waited for over an hour in the room for the doctor to see me. The only reason I kept going back was because Dr. Mehta is a wonderful doctor (this review is not a reflection of her in any way). This place is run like a money-making factory and it’s a real shame.

Dr Mehta is great. No complaints about the competency of the medical team, they are all amazing. They take the time to explain procedures and answer any questions. The office could be a little more comfortable/ inviting in general. Very sterile vibe in the waiting room does not ease the nerves if you have white coat syndrome! Would prefer cloth gown to the paper vest/sheets but I guess some places aren’t doing that anymore.

Highly advise to find another OBGYN office. This place is not only unprofessional, they are unresponsive, and provide no clarity in their process for billing or what you and do not have a say in as a patient. The exact opposite of what a Dr's office should be comprised of. This place seems to suck money from their patients with no empathy and lack of transparency in their process. Their office manager Andrea would be happy not to help you, punch down at your feelings and confusion, and lack the aptitude to perform her job. As a patient, you have a choice, and this office oppresses your choice in favor of greed.

Although everything went well, I am disappointed that my provider was not very knowledgeable about a prescription drug I had requested. It took me about 5 mins of research to find out that this newly approved drug ( Veozah) was not covered by any insurance companies and is also not affordable on discount drug sites like GoodRX . The best price available is just under $600 a month, which is , obviously, not an option for many. If I knew this info, I would not have had my blood tested to see if I was a candidate. I am sure I will be charged for the extra lab work . I was seeking advise and ended up finding all this out on my own :(

My experience was great. She was very engaging and made my visit calming and comforting. We had a great laugh about our last vacation which turned out to be the same country. Plus she was very knowledgeable and educated me about certain things as I am a FTM.

Dr. Sheppard was amazing. Shes very warm, kind, polite, patient with listening, and trust me I have a lot of complications and am not an easy patient with my health history. Most of shes very knowledgeable. Thank you Dr. Sheppard!

Came in for my annual women’s visit, and I can just say I’m always impressed. The staff are friendly, and I felt comfortable in this office. Dr Sarroza answered all my questions, and I felt heard with my concerns. The office was clean, and I liked how easy it was to register for the online portal.

I’ve been coming here since 2019, I have seen staff and Dr’s come and go. I love sorroza and yessy has treated me like a friend. And has been making my pregnancy experience wonderful and at ease. I seen the decline in staff. Not the best quality as it used to. The Jamaican nurse. She makes me feel so at joy when I see her. I’m saddened to see her leave. But overall 8/10. Great place.

I think Dr Mehta is one of the most professional Doctors, and her knowledge and attention to details made me feel comfortable with my healthcare. I also would like to point out that the office staff is very nice, from check-in to check out. This office is very well-run with competent and pleasant employees.

This office is amazing! This is my second pregnancy and I needed a new office closer to where I moved and I am so glad I found this place. Dr. Sarroza is the best! From the very start, she has made me feel at complete ease and I can really feel like she cares about me and my baby. She takes the time to explain everything to me. I recommend this place to everyone!

Very hard to reach the office for literally anything. I had an appointment cancelled without them telling me and I showed up and had to leave. Sometimes you wait for 45-50 minutes to even be brought back to a room and then even longer in the room.

I have great experience with Dr. Whitney Shepard. Moving from one doctor to another is always a big concern. Feel like I can trust and see professional knowledge and skills very important to me. Highly recommend this clinic and Dr. Shepard, she is the best doctor I had experience with.

I've been going to Elite OB/GYN since 2021, both for regular check-ups and throughout my pregnancy. The office is clean, staff are nice, and the OB/GYNs are professional and friendly. Recently, my OB/GYN left the practice and I met Dr. Yessy Felipe. She's such a sweet person with a positive vibe. You can tell she's a genuine, caring doc! Highly recommend!!

The doctor at the facility is very upbeat and pleasant. She is completely thorough with all of the exams that go along with women in my age group. She's easily relatable and most of all patients. When you have questions. She's direct and I always feel like I'm in good hands with her

I absolutely love my doctor. She's amazing, and I found out today she's leaving and I'm not sure how to feel about it. I know it's for personal reasons and it's a good one. So, I pray for her and her family and I wish her the absolute BEST. I hope we cross paths again. I will always remember her because she left a lasting impression. I'm not sure if I've ever had a doctor to do that. BLESSINGS !!!

I really like Dr. Mehta & Dr. Shephard. They are both really attentive and open and seem to genuinely care about hearing your concerns or questions. I’m looking forward to how they safely deliver our baby while doing their best to honoring our birth preferences!

She was very informative and patient with me. She made sure all my questions were answered and then I understood what was going on with my body. Everyone at this location always greets you with a smile and keeps that smile until you walk out.

Every interaction was amazing. The lady at the front desk was pleasant, the nurse was thorough and professional. Dr. Mehta made me feel comfortable and relaxed. She is very informative, I didn’t feel rushed, I felt like her only patient.

Dr. Shepard is the best! I had my first Pap smear with her and I was pretty nervous but she explained everything in detail, even showed me the tools and checked in on me to make sure I was comfortable. I also had my nexplanon removed and a new one reinserted, she was really attentive the whole time in spite of the discomfort of the procedure. Everything was done super quickly and pretty painless. Also the front desk ladies are great for being clear about what is covered by your insurance before the appointment.

I have been a patient at this practice through different management and they are still very much the professional office setting I am happy to be part of. The staff and all the healthcare professionals are very attentive and accommodating and I have and will continue to recommend new patients to Elite OBGYN.

Dr. Shepard was amazing. She was very informative, kind, and professional. Honestly, she’s the best OBGYN I’ve had in the past 6 years. I would definitely recommend going to her.

I transferred here from another office and have already had such a positive experience. I liked how the staff was amiable and attentive. Dr. Mehta took her time to answer any questions and concerns I had. As a result, I did not feel rushed, which is essential to me.

She was amazing! She made me feel comfortable and was one of the most personal doctors I have ever met. She was also very gentle and careful when it came to my Pap smear.

I’m so pleased I discovered Elite OB/GYN. Dr. Shepard is lovely and personable, as well as knowledgeable. It was one of the most comfortable appointments I’ve ever had. Everyone at Elite, from the receptionists to the nurses are calm, friendly and organized. The facility is bright, clean and welcoming as well. Overall I highly recommend this practice and am so glad I got an appointment with Dr. Shepard!

For them, your health is worth a problem, they don't even deserve a star.
