Room was comfortable. Zero view. Roof top looks like something from a budget hotel. Zero shower pressure. Couldn’t make tip change from a 100. They do not serve coffee before 7am?!?! Looks and more like a budget / economy Hotel, rather than a boutique brand. Don’t trust all the fake reviews…

Everything about this place was excellent. Two pools with pretty impressive views from the rooftop pool. We had a late lunch and breakfast at the restaurant and everything we tried was excellent (I do wish they had a larger beer list and/or anything on draft). Location is an easy walk to the beach and to many restaurants. Your resort fee includes towels, chairs, and umbrellas at the beach which is really convenient. The thing that stood out most though was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful.

As a seasoned traveller I was really dissapointed in this hotel. I have stayed at the Kimpton in Barcelona and had an great stay, however this hotel in FL is nothing to write home about. 1. Rooms my room had a terrible mouldy smell. I suffer from asthma and the smell was really tough to stand, I forfeited a night because the smell was so bad. 2. Noise at 2 am people were partying outside. 3. They charged my credit card for every night that I stayed there including resort fees (take note I had prepaid my stay). It came as a shock that my card had been charged again. I still don’t know if I will see over a $1000 taken from my account in addition to the $$$ I prepaid for the room. I tried to call their hotel a few times and no one answered, eventually they sent me an email that the money will be returned in 5 days (wait to be seen). This was after 6 calls and multiple emails begging them for a respone. Overall a bad experience for a 4 star hotel. Very upset by their attitude and that they double charged my cc for a value I never approved. Australian travellers beware and don’t stay here unless you want to be double charged and risk never seeing your hard earned money again.

To say the stay was terrific doesn’t say enough! The cleanliness, hospitality, warmth and charm are exceptional. When was the last time you got to know employees in a first name basis! Employees Neil, Corey, Nebil, Mike and Jerry made this unique hotel experience one of a kind. From the exceptional care from the employees, 5 star amenities, delicious cuisine and specialty cocktails, the tranquil landscaped grounds, we were made to feel at home from the get go. We felt like we were returning home everyday!

My friends and I had a fabulous time at this hotel. We were skeptical at first but the more time we spent there the better it got. The room reservation came with two seats on the beach per day which was fantastic. The vibe was very mid-century without trying too hard. Also the food and drinks were great! I would highly recommend the french fries (which aren’t explicit on the menu) and the piña coladas (which are made with real fruit). The staff was so friendly, especially the bartenders. Our favorite bartender was Vanessa. She was so kind and really made our experience one-of-a-kind. I know we were all sad to say goodbye to her. Stay here and tip Vanessa well!

47.00 parking. 38.00 service fee. Almost 40 bucks for 2 drinks at the pool bar. Property is in a good location only 1 block off the beach. Room was clean. Hotel feels like an old apartment building. Staff was super friendly. But at some point the extras start to rival the cost of the room.

We love Kimpton and Shorebreak did not disappoint. We enjoy the very pet friendly brand and how they transform older buildings and this is not the exception. The rooftop pool is amazing, with superb views and great vibes. The restaurant is delicious and the rooms clean and comfy. The secluded location provides quiet from the bustling A1A. But the highlight is the staff. Everyone is friendly but Daniel at the front desk and Iris are truly exceptional. Can't wait to go back!

Great location. This place gives off a retro vibe. I felt like I was at a high end 50's resort with all of today's amenities. The employees were all amazing. They went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. The valet, the desk clerk, the bartender, the lounge singer.....all amazing. 2 pools with bars, close to beach, bike and beach chairs provided, yoga mats in room, beach bag with towels in room, social hour with free wine. This hotel was by far the best place I've stayed at in years. I will def be back.

So i usually do not write reviews, but this has been egregious. I am one to check the reviews before staying anywhere as well and there were quite a few that mentioned this so I want to put this out as a warning to all who read it. Absolutely do NOT stay here. We stayed at the Kimpton Shorebreak on March 14-16th. We did not have the option to park our car, we had to valet. Upon checkout, the valet returned the car to us with damage to the front bumper and fender on the drivers side. None of the employees mentioned it. They gave me the car back and pretended that never happened while they had it. I had to let them know that the damage was definitely not there when I arrived. I filed a report and they have confirmed that the car came in with no damage, but they aren't claiming any responsibility for the repairs to my car. I have had to go back and forth with the valet manager for over 5 months now and they just finally confirmed that they are not going to pay for the damages. Do yourself a favor and save the headache. Go anywhere else. The rooms aren't that nice, the amenities aren't that great, and if there is a problem, don't expect them to help. Don't get me wrong, the employees that work the front desk were helpful while we were dealing with this issue, but there has been no communication after the fact. Once we checked out, we all of a sudden were not their problem anymore. I would like to make it clear that I gave them the benefit of the doubt when filing the report because the valet manager assured me they would take care of this. I was more than patient and even worked with their insurance company to get their manager to provide a statement because they could not get a hold of him. Again, save the hassle and stay at a different hotel. If you, unfortunately, have this same issue, you will be running around and babysitting them to make sure this gets handled as well. Something that, in my opinion, should be the other way around if you are paying to stay there instead of the many other NICER hotels in the area. This is not luxurious in any way and I would be remised if I didn't let people know about this experience. There are plenty of others who have had to deal with the same issue. Stay there at your own risk, especially if you have a car that you don't want damaged.

I booked my stay on hotels tonight. When I arrived I was greeted by the valet that was very professional. The front desk allowed me to check in early, he was also very professional. The hotel is super clean and very art deco. I also got a history lesson on the building and was very intrigued by The columns in the front and the long history of the buildings architect. My dog enjoyed her stay as well as my daughter . the pool upstairs is amazing with phenomenal views. The hotel is super clean it is only two floors which I really loved because it wasn't too crowded and there was no drama.. the rooms are super cute. The beds were super comfortable and very clean. I enjoyed eating up at the pool in the afternoon the cocktails are phenomenal as well as the dinner we had in the Italian restaurant on the main floor.. the bartender in the evening was also extremely friendly and I enjoyed our conversation. I'm looking forward to spending more time at the shore break hotel in fort lauderdale. I highly highly recommend this place.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure our trip went off without a hitch. The property was in great shape and everyone was very welcoming. We ordered late night pizza and the delivery never came, and Jorge and Greg did what was necessary so we didn’t go to bed hungry. The rooftop pool has great views, and the food was good. The only issue we had at all was with the morning wait staff at the inside restaurant. We were there for 20 minutes and nobody even stopped by. We left, but friends stayed and it took 2 hours. Beautiful renovation of the property and walking distance you ever could need. Will return here next time I’m in Fort Lauderdale

We picked this property for the location, but were more than pleased with the experience with the friendly staff. My 4 yr old is enamored with "Prince Ted", as she calls him who works at the hotel. As we are traveling back to the area, she convinced us to stay here again as we had so much fun. The rooftop pool is great with and amazing view, great comfy chairs and a peaceful escape. The food/drink from the pool area is good too. The walk to the beach is quick and easy with the reserved chairs and the complimentary sand toys for kiddos. The valet team is quick and personable and we look forward to seeing Prince Ted again!

We come to visit Fort Lauderdale twice a year and we chosen again to stay here. Excellent location, service and clean! Cory from front desk makes sure we are always welcome. Thank you! This time we got to enjoy the roof top pool and thoroughly enjoyed pool and atmosphere.l and view. Would have given 5 star if pool waiter would come around and take order for drinks and food. When asked for the menu the staff made sure I understood that I had to place the order at the bar. I believe going the extra mile here would make it more attractive and in my opinion can be easily achieved as there the pool area is small.

Only thing good is the location. Other than that you have rude night crew, Uneducated day staff. Place looks like a renovated motel 6 with a low budget. Not white glove service for a 4 star hotel. I would say a Category three hotel at most! I would like to say thank you to the BellHopper who had better customer service skills than the front desk. That’s how you know your in trouble when a young adult all of 19 has better Communication skills then grown adults. Also towels smelt like they was just bought from a Wholesale distributor and not washed.

Absolutely HIDDEN GEM!! One of the only Italian cuisines worth going to when in Fort Lauderdale. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. Along with 5 star service and dining experience, the rooftop bar. Breathtaking view of the sunset. Highly recommend stopping in for a bite and some drinks.

2 blocks from the beach!!! Rooms are great. Wish the ac in the rooms actually went below 68, during the day it's about 75°in the room with the shades shut. But we wasn't in the room much. Lots of eminaties as well

I’ve worked in the hotel business for years and I’ve never seen a guest leave a comment about a staff member because no staff member would give that out. with a First and last name if that does happen it’s because the staff it’s self per se, managers or assistant, managers Are racist. This should be a prime example why, if you are not a yes, ma’am, or an immigrant as a black person you should not work for these low class environments.

We were really impressed with this place! Pros- -Under $200 all-inclusive for one night -Rooms and bathrooms were much bigger than we expected -Located in a very safe & walkable area -Only 2 blocks from the beach -VERY pet-friendly! You can bring your dog for free (no pet fees) and he/she can even come into the restaurant & poolside (not in the pool) with you! -AMAZING rooftop pool and bar with views of the dock below! It gets very crowded around noon, but if you go around 5/6, you might just get it to yourself. 😉 -2 free glasses of wine per person at the restaurant bar from 5-6 (we had Chardonnay & took it to the rooftop pool) -Free yoga on the beach in the morning -Yoga mat, bathrobe, and one bottle of water provided in room (although I think there should be 2 provided since 2 people stayed in the room). -Free 2 hour bike rentals per person per day. -Free transportation to Las Olas and nearby attractions through Cruise app (they work on tips), if you want to avoid traffic and parking fees. Cons -No hotel parking lot. Valet parking is $47/night. We were lucky enough to get a free parking spot nearby (the lady at the front desk told us that the apartment across the street is abandoned/closed so parking there is free). Otherwise there is street parking, paid by the hour, and a parking garage nearby. -Outside seating in the courtyard area was a little dirty. But the main areas (downstairs pool, rooftop pool, & restaurant) were all very clean and nice.

I could not have asked for a better stay at the Kimpton Shorebreak. From the moment we walked in, we have received the best costumer service and kindness. Not once have I been told no! Complimentary water bottles, glasses of wine, beach chairs, AM yoga, AND bike rentals. Who does that?! I love it. I love that the hotel is small- no waiting at the elevators and traveling down long hallways to get to your room. The aesthetic is everything. 10/10 all across the board. Thank you for a wonderful time.

My only regret is not booking this hotel for longer. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, and will definitely be back. They provide great service, atmosphere, and accommodation. The amenities were great like free beach chairs ($40 value), free bike to get around, a beach bag with towels so you can just grab and go to the beach, and a rooftop bar (that was unfortunately closed for renovations). Daniel at the front desk was especially accommodating, making sure I was able to enjoy all the great amenities they offer. I will definitely be back, and as a local I will be telling all of my friends and family this is the place to stay in Ft. Lauderdale!

We love this little retro hotel. Easy walk to the beach. Clean comfortable rooms. Great shady pool for the afternoons after the beach. If you want something without all the hustle and bustle that feels friendly and high quality this is the place. The best part though is the people. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Alyssa for going above and beyond to make our Spring Break the best yet! Can't wait for 2024. The Furrs

We absolutely loved our experience staying at this hotel. The staff is wonderful. The view from the roof top pool is breathtaking with a well service bar right next to the pool. The rooms are great with some nice added touches including a Marshall speaker. Easy walking distance to the beach. Included with the room are pool towels in a cute bag to carry them and beach chairs.

A beautiful boutique hotel tucked away in a quiet and beachy Fort Lauderdale neighborhood. Close walk to the beach, very chill vibes and nice staff (mostly). I definitely will be staying here again in the future. The court yards are so beautiful and there’s a little place to play mini golf on the property. On the other side of the hotel is a beautiful sitting area, with soothing music, you can feel the breeze off the ocean and the WiFi is really great! I was able to get a lot of work done with no problems. The pool is lovely and the music was nice, lots of shade around the pool as well. The food at the restaurant is really delicious and the service is good. Pizza is on point! Sergio and the outside bar manager were so great, Sergio is so polite and kind. Sally at the bar inside is so nice and really funny, she pays attention to you and is on it with keeping your drink fresh, we found out we both used to work in the medical system of Broward, so that was fun to talk about. I only wish I had known of the happy hour upon check in. I definitely recommend this cute hotel. I give 4 stars because of the check in process and the front staff. Upon arriving after flying in from California, I had been traveling since early morning, and was stuck in the plane for an hour upon landing, I was really looking forward to visiting the rooftop, some fresh air and a lovely cocktail. I wasn’t made aware it was closed, I also wasn’t told about the happy hour in the restaurant or that when you go to the beach “the chairs” are the blue ones that are actually on the beach. It’s $30 extra for an umbrella. The next morning When I asked about the very cute golf carts the woman at the front desk who I believe is in charge of the front was really rude to me, not even looking at me when she answered my question. She told me (without looking at me) that they are used for yoga in the morning and to transport hotel staff to other properties. I had to ask her if she was talking to me it was that awkward. I thought perhaps it was me and tried to brush it off, I’m happy on vacation spending time at the beach with family, I didn’t understand her rudeness towards me, but a day later when my kids discovered they had left their toothbrush at home, my son and I went to ask for one for both he and his sister, she gave us one and then walked away, I didn’t know if we were supposed to follow her or wait, it just made me feel uncomfortable to ask the front desk for anything due to her odd and abrasive attitude when she was present. I also feel like you should keep a few things for sale like Tylenol or Motrin, I took a fall on one of the steps soon after my arrival and when I asked the front desk I was told cvs is a ten minute walk, yet I had severely bruised my knee. Again, most hotels offer basic things like this. I would think a first aid kit would be on hand. That’s just good practice from a retired ER nurse. It just felt odd, the front staff isn’t consistent with how they treat guests, what they tell them, what is offered at the hotel, and I feel if your front desk manager isn’t modeling hospitable and informed behavior towards guests, then why should the rest follow suit? Felt slightly toxic in my honest opinion. I have questions, I’m a guest and I’m paying to stay here, the vibe of the hotel is so light and airy, it just didn’t make sense to me. All that being said, now that I know these things, I did really enjoy my stay, in-spite of the odd interaction with the one person at the front desk, and hope to be back in the winter. Beds are super comfy too and the rooms are so cute. The fridge is an added bonus! Cleaning staff is so friendly and kind.

The kimpton was such a great place for my birthday stay. I checked in Daniel was so nice. Explained all the amenities that you get with the hotel. It's built in the 1950's cute room, very dog 🐕 friendly my dog loved it. The garden pool was the only pool open. I was really disappointed about that. They have a rooftop pool it was closed for renovations. The reason I booked this was because of the rooftop pool. So I didn't even get to see it. But the amenities were good. 2 beach chairs waters everyday 2 hr free bike rentals. The hotel has a nice italian restaurant lafuga. Great food.

We stayed at the Kimpton at the end of August. Originally we were supposed to stay for one week, but decided to extend our stay for 1 more week. I can't say enough about this hotel and the staff. Front desk, valets, bartender, everyone absolutely amazing. The rooms are spacious and clean, beach bag with towels also provided. The hotel is close to beach. We will def be back

Staying at the Kimpton Shorebreak Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort was truly the best decision I've made. From Thursday to Sunday, every moment was perfect. The grounds are impeccably clean, the staff is incredibly friendly and skilled, and the facility itself is simply outstanding. With an enticing onsite restaurant, complimentary bike rentals, and the convenience of the Circuit shuttle service, which is not only cost-effective but also takes you to local spots, it exceeded all expectations. I can't wait to recommend the Kimpton to everyone I know.

Interesting little hotel. Art Deco indoor/outdoor spaces and hallways make this hotel interesting aesthetically. The rooms get the job done with not a lot of frills. Feels a little beafh bungalow with the light woods and all white everything. The customer service and staff were excellent. They were exceedingly friendly and helpful, they make the place if you ask me.

Rooms are a little outdated but comfortable. Location a couple blocks away from the beach ⛱️. Staff friendly and helpful. Great pool and bar on the eighth floor with a view of the ocean. It's definitely worth the money, and we will stay here again if we are in the area.

I didn’t go into any of the rooms but instead a party on the rooftop deck. Love this place! Beautiful. Great service! Great location on the beach. You get all the ease of access to everything but less traffic and congestion so Its just very nice.

The great service started with the valet, Anthony was energetic and friendly. That was a nice first impression. Then Iris at the front desk was a ray of sunshine, professional and patient. They have social hour from 5-7p with free white/ red wine, which were good, served by Caden who was pleasant. Even the free coffee in the lobby was tasty. The restaurant had amazing food for dinner. I recommend the octopus. The rooftop pool has the most beautiful sunset. And has comfy and a cute seating areas. Vanessa, the bartender on the rooftop makes good drinks. My stay was wonderful. The room was clean. The location was walking distance from the beach. It’s located in a nice area so even at night, you feel safe. I would definitely stay again. I’m a local so I’ll be back for sure.

My stay here was great! Iris at the front desk was phenomenal and she went above and beyond at check in and even check out. She remembered I was there with my mom for her birthday and made us feel so welcome and excited for our stay. Thanks Iris and Kimpton, I definitely will be back!

This was a wonderful hotel that was just off the beaten path of the tourist trap hotels on the beach. It was peaceful and very well maintained. The rooms have a classic Art-deco vibe unique and calming. I think the best part is just how nice and accommodating all the staff was to us. That really makes the difference.

  • 4/5 JOHN M. 2 years ago on Google
Not bad, in a great location right off the beach. The rooms are awesome and the property layout is well designed. The restaurant misses that mark a bit on food quality ... but not the wonderful staff's fault. Could have done without the 'Motel 6' style hammering on the door at a few minutes before 11AM ... with follow up calls and knocking shortly there after again. Damn, one courtesy call 📞 at 11AM would have been more 'Kimpton' style to find out I was running a bit behind (conference call). I was checked out and in my car service by 12! Cheers. JMAC

Best hotel experience I ever had. Have never stayed at a hotel where I knew the managers name on a first name basis. Corey was super friendly, genuinely went out of his way to make sure my family and I were happy. I will definitely come back to this Kimpton, and have already highly recommended the hotel to my friends.

Very clean and organized hotel. No surprises, what you book online holds true to what you receive. The entire staff is very friendly and look to help you out however they can. Just an awesome all around experience and so close to the beach. Hospitality from the front desk and restaurant staff is unmatched. Would definitely book again

Small little hotel tucked away behind the W. The staff were excellent! Always friendly and helpful! Clean rooms, sheets had that slight bleach smell, which I love. The restaurant had a key lime cream brulee that was out of this world. I usually only order vanilla due to so many unbalanced flavors when cream brulee is flavored. But my wife ordered the key lime, her favorite flavor and it was out of this world. We made sure we visited the next night to order it again.

I seriously can not say enough positive things about the Goodland Hotel. Every single staff member goes above and beyond. From the housekeeping team to the hostesses to the bartenders and the front desk team. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and WILL be back. Perfect fit for a small group of friends, for couples, and even small families. They are kind, easy to talk to, and down right good company at the Kimpton Goodland. Corey the bartender worked every single day of our stay and was beyond talented in running a whole bar with ease, and his drinks were delish! 10/10 every day! Thank you guys for our wonderful stay, we will be back as soon as we can! Love from Boston Girls!

Went to the Rooftop for drinks and heavy appetizers with friends. AMAZING views, exceptional food, great DJ, & super chill vibes. The hotel has multiple bars and plenty of outside options for dining. Wonderful service from the greeting by Rose, to drinks by Jorge, and most of all the personal attention from the hotel manager Vedran. Highly recommend before everyone hears about it.

I was really disappointed with the lack of services at this hotel. No room service, no mini bar. When traveling for work I don’t have time to shop for my own food. I had to order dinner at the bar and wait for 45 minutes while the entire staff wore masks around their chin, couldn’t find to go packaging for me to take food to my room. If a hotel is going to cut services because covid they could at least pretend to protect their guests, or at least not charge a premium rate. I thought I was paying for more than just trendy decor.

Talk about being google swindled. There are oodles of nice hotels around in the $300-350 price range but we chose this one based on: 1. Proximity to restaurants 2. Photos online 3. Reviews However, we checked in Saturday morning at 1am and got to our room which was very moldy and mildewy smelling. The bed is very firm and not particularly comfortable, and on top of that, the AC is locked. The only thing I can do is turn the fan off and create a sauna. We chalked this up to being tired (although it wasn't), and went to sleep. Come Saturday morning we turned on the shower head and promptly flooded the bathroom. Poor design and a clogged drain doesn't make for a great shower. They did send someone out, so I'll give them that, biut the lack of a shower curtain doesn't help with the splashing everywhere. The sink is tiny, nowhere to put your junk you brought with you, and there isn't much in the way of space. Honestly for the cost I was thinking something akin to staying at an aloft, but I think I instead we got a motel 6 that was renovated with veneers. We would check out if we could, but of course, it's non refundable. Stay at your own risk. I doubt your experience will be any different. Update: It turns out our room was an accessible room, which we didn't need. The accessible rooms are completely different. The new room, which is 2 double beds, smells nice, the bathroom is nice, and they were more than happy to assist us. We are more than willing to admit we were quick to judge, but we will never not admit we could be wrong. Thank you for moving us rooms!

This hotel on paper seems amazing, but let me make you aware before you spend the $1,500 we did for four nights. The primary hotel pool does not receive ANY sunlight until after April which leaves to fight for a chair at the rooftop pool, leaving most to not have a seat. They also fail to mention that the roof pool is shared with the residences next door. The rooms are very basic and do not even have hooks in the bathroom. The most glaring issue is the price of food and drink compared to the quality, It is beyond me to charge $17 a burger and it take an hour to receive and then be improperly cooked. I know the prices are consistent with FLL prices, but then again you must deliver the same quality. I would pay a little more and stay at a larger property where you are not fighting for pool chairs.

Such a lovely small hotel. Definitely preferred to the big chain hotel blocks. Staff at reception were so welcoming and well mannered. Room setup feels different to normal hotel layouts. Beautifully appointed restaurant and pool area. Waiter was so friendly and attentive. Will definitely stay again!

This hotel is wonderful, super clean. The service is excellent. The staff is well trained. The food and the drinks taste delicious. The pool on the top of roof has a wonderful inter coastal view. The manager Frederico is present all the time making sure everyone has a wonderful memorable experience.

My partner and I had a wonderful time at this hotel. The room was comfortable, the food at Botanic was delicious, both the downstairs and upstairs pools were nice and relaxing, the bar at the upstairs pool was good too. Our only complaint would be that no one came by our room after our first night there to give us more water bottles, make the beds, vaccum, etc. This wasn’t a big deal, just a weird surprise. After our second night, our room was refreshed.

Chill place tucked in North Beach Village area. Friendly staff, very clean, rooms were quiet, well appointed, and the bed was so comfortable. Definite retro look with a modern vibe. We're going back.

I loved the atmosphere at this retro inspired hotel. Great amenities, and a wonderful bar/restaurant. Cozy drinks and dinner by the pool. Big TV in room and comfy bed. I couldn’t adjust the temp in my room though and while it was cool enough, my room felt humid. Not uncommon in the heat of south Florida. Overall, I loved the place.

I was skeptical after reading some reviews... However this hotel did NOT disappoint. From the moment you walk in the front desk area you feel taken a back by the attention to detail. The short walk down hall to your room number lit up in a small globe makes you feel all sorts of nostalgic. Once entering the room it felt very spacious, they layout was nice that our luggage wasn't in the bed area and had it's on space in the built in closet. The bathroom was HUGE, I did feel they could have added a small table or something to place your amenities on. The roof top pool is a must see during the day and for the sunset. I would suggest this place to everyone I know
