Felt more like a motel vs. a hotel. Rooms were clean, but not well insulated from a noise point of view. Linen and towels were a bit on the worn side. Room size was adequate.

Very disappointed, beyond my control my flight was canceled due to severe thunder storms in New York on July 25th/2023 my travel agent let the hotel know that i was delayed until the 26th, I had prepaid for 2 nights July 25/26 upon arrival the 26th I was advised by Best Western NJ that I had to pay again for the 26th, SO I GOT TO SPEND 1 NIGHT AND PAID FOR 3 NIGHTS they keep telling my travel agent they will reimburse me for one night still no money back as of today ..... won't be staying there anymore and advised all my family and friends not to book with them because they will keep your money if you cannot make it due to circumstances out of your control and make you pay again .....so so very disappointed thanks for nothing Best Western 👎(By the way we don't rip people off here in Canada our hotels are very understanding) THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED ME IS A LIAR, MY TRAVEL AGENT INFORMED THEM.... THEY ARE SAYING I DIDNT LET THEM KNOW SO THEY COULD KEEP MY MONEY ...WATCH OUT EVERYONE YOU WILL BE DOUBLE CHARGED AND THEY WILL SAY YOU LIED SO THEY DONT HAVE TO GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK .. BEST WESTERN EMPLOYEE WHO ANSWERED ME YOU ARE EVIL AND MEAN

Had I known what I experienced, I would stay elsewhere based on cost for low quality rooms. Entrance is right on Route 4 and it’s like a strip motel behind a large building along the roadway. The rooms were musky. Carpet needs cleaning or replacing. The couch needs the same. My ocd was kicking in. The bed looked clean. Bathroom was clean. You can hear the entire conversation right through the walls. Ask for empty rooms on both sides if you decide to stay here. You can drive to get food about 8 mins away. It’s around in the back so you’d need to drive out of the hotel, loop around to the back and then renter on route 4 the same way you entered. It’s ok for one night but I would not be returning to save $10-$20.

I am request international traveler and staying at this Best Western was by far One of the worst experiences I ever had. We drove there on Xmas eve and guess what we found! It wasn’t a hotel rather a Motel. Upon inquiry I was told by the receptionist that “We Brand it as a Hotel”!!?? Like how can you do this and get away with this. Rooms are small and not roomy, and not properly lit up. Bathrooms are the same as well. One of the worst thing is its location. You either have to drive to Manhattan by paying $28 per trip on George Washington Bridge or else get a an Uber for eye watering $70 on average. Plus there is no way to walk out of the this motel. Yes! There is no side walk you have to rather take the same drive up ramp with your family to walk out on main road that is used by cars to exit. Once you manage to walk through that “test for your life” ramp, you have to take turn and walk up a 45 degrees steep hill to walk nearly a mile to get to a bus stop. Breakfast was served on first day, 6am to 10am however on Xmas day they closed the breakfast at 9am without any information. Overall a poor spot to stay while being in NYC. Not recommended at all.

Milton was the most disrespectful representative I’ve dealt with. He canceled my paid reservation and kept the funds told me because I didn’t check in before 3 am I book the room 10pm while commuting from out of state hoping I get some rest before check out! I called and was told everything is all set for my arrival . Upon arrive I was forced to pay for a new reservation. Tells me policy?! No call asking me about my arrival nothing. Just disappointed upon arrival after half a day of driving. paid 2 times for a room that was utilized for 5 hours. Very disrespectful never felt so robbed and violated.

We stayed at this location and the experience was really bad. In the building it says no smoking and the hallways and carpet smells like last night’s cigarette, the rooms weren’t up to standard, We called for toiletries because there were none maybe they forgot it happens maybe it was the 2 rooms we paid for it? In the morning I went to ask for some information at the front desk and there was this blond lady playing on her phone and didn’t face her that she was been ask for help! We canceled the rest of the week and head to East Brunswick, NJ Best Western on 764 NJ-18, East Brunswick, NJ 08816, what a difference!! We had always stayed in East Brunswick but wanted to try something near NYC but it was a big mistake staying here In Fort Lee, NJ. I rather take the Turnpike from 18 to the city with great accommodation waiting after a nice day of visiting ❤️NYC. And after a drive from Stouffville, ON 🇨🇦 We really need a good night sleep!! No more Fort Lee Best Western

I was moving my son into Hell's Kitchen NYC, so we drove from Massachusetts the night before and stayed at this Best Western to be close the next day. The motel didn't look great from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room & bathroom, the comfort of the beds, the water pressure, and the amount of towels, tissues, and toilet paper. It took us less than 30 minutes to get to my son's new apartment in Hell's Kitchen. Our room (B241) with two double beds was $150 after taxes and fees. I take one star from service because I had to wait a couple of minutes at the front desk before a young man came out, buttoning his shirt only halfway as he exited the back room. We checked in around 7:00pm so not an off-hour.

I booked a room for one night through the Best Western app which was great. Upon arrival and checking in, I was informed I would have to pay a $100 deposit, despite paying for the room in advance. I stated that this was not mentioned on their website. However, I paid it since I was told it would be returned after check-out. I didn't have cash on me, so I used my debit card. I returned the room key the next morning before 10:00am. The next day, I received an alert from my bank that Best Western attempted to charge $150 to my debit card. I contacted hotel directly and was informed by the front desk that there was damage to the room. I asked what damage? But was not able to be given any additional information since I would need to speak with management on Monday. In addition, I was informed that when I used my debit card I consented to any additional charges that would be due. I was advised that a email to management was sent and someone would contact me Monday. Later that day, another $150 attempt was made to my card. Two days later my card was debited $250 from Best Western. So, I have no idea what room damage there was as I am a middle aged female that was not intoxicated, under the influence nor having a party or a rage to cause any damage to a room. Let's break this down: $160 for a 24 hour stay $100 deposit $250 for room damage Total for this $510!!! I will never go to another Best Western and take warning to using your debit card when leaving a deposit. By the way, management has never contacted me. The fact that they are getting away with charging a patron's card without any explanation is a crime.

Wasn’t too bad. Booked the corner queen room at the far end of the building. Small room doesn’t have an unpleasant smell and view was of trees and not the highway. Bathroom is tiny but have a good sized closet. Sheets and towels are good quality. Walls are thin, can hear conversations outside the room. Though we were not able to use it, fitness room looked clean and orderly. The outside hallway is much appreciated, especially since it was raining. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast was more special than what others offer. Convenient access but there is only one way to get in and another way to get out from Route 4 West. OK for the less than $100 rate from Priceline but will not pay more for this type of accommodation.

This Best Western might be the Worst one I've been in. My Wife and I stayed overnight and were completely caught off guard of all the noise that came from the Highway when we were trying to Sleep. PLUS.... The bed was Extremely uncomfortable!! 👎👎

Overall disappointed with my stay. On the positive side, the staff were very welcoming & friendly. The room itself was also in great shape and smelled very good. Overall was clean and quite large. Rooms also include coffee maker/microwave/fridge, which is always a bonus. But that’s where the positive ends. This hotel is more of a motel, as it is literally just one large hallway with doors leading directly outside, only separated by the indoor hallway. Window view is directly of the indoor hallway so there isn’t any privacy if you wanted to keep them open. And because it is one large hallway, you hear everything as the sound echos throughout. My room was directly infront of a outside door and people were coming in and out , slamming the door almost constantly. It didn’t really stop until 2/3am. The only foot accessible food option is the gas station directly infront of the hotel,(You can’t walk anywhere else as the property is surrounded by highways. ) but they unfortunately close at 10pm. So if you need food late at night the only option is delivery. But the worst thing about my experience was that there was people just hanging out in the hallway basically the entire time I was here. The check-in desk isn’t actually connected to the hotel, so I’m guessing it is like this as it is a bit unsupervised. One guy was literally laying on the floor watching a movie on his phone with no shoes on and the other was pacing back and forth. Several housekeepers walked by and evidently did nothing. Didn’t really feel safe when I went to the vending machine late at night. The entire time I was here people were loitering around, both inside and also in the parking lot. It was a bit sketchy. They do provide a free breakfast, but I did not partake.

The hotel has a narrow one way drive with very little parking. There was a food truck trailer in the handicap spots. There are stairs at EVERY entrance and no handicap ramps. None of the ice vending machines were working. The front desk would not answer the phones not even for outside calls. The ac unit did not work well. They have one coffee machine that was broke down and very little offered for breakfast (no breakfast bars or muffins or things like that). The night clerk was very nice and friendly and so was the day clerk (although neither would answer the phones). That was the only redeeming part of our stay at this hotel.

I wasn't plannig on going up the Turnpike but I did. Found this great hotel. Clean and convient to where I was. I thought I was lost but I trusted the GPS and made it here. It's going on my list of favorite hotels. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

I am giving one star because there are no ZERO stars. This is not a hotel, it is an old motel transformed into a Best Western. We normally like BW, but this has been the absolute worst ‘hotel’ we have been to in the last 10 years. I would not recommend it to anyone. (pot smokers, the door of your room opens to the street!, not an inside of a hotel, small beds, rust in bathroom, shabby old carpet). The only good thing was the water pressure.

The hotel is decent but does housekeeping they make too much noise when they are cleaning they have to have more respect before 11 am

They charged me $75 extra for a 7 hour Bedroom. I ended up paying $200 instead of $125 as they told me when I was doing the check in.

The manager is very unprofessional, rather than giving me a refund for the bed bugs, being locked out of the property multiple times and having a very loud crowd next to our room for several hours, she blamed me for not walking to the front desk at 3 AM because they were not picking up their phone calls. It was simply the worst stay I ever had.

Room was clean we showed up really late I booked on hotels then showed up took a min to get checked in but the girl there knew what she was doing and answered my questions and let me know things I didn't know before about the process. All in all great stay for one night it was super clean updated the beds were fine even though it was a double and not 2 queens but can't really complain I'd rather have a full in a clean place then a queen in a dirty place

I've stayed at the Best Western in Fort Lee, twice, 15 years apart. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the staff is pleasant and helpful and the location ( a little tricky to find) was ideal for our stays.

Never stay here they are infested with bedbugs. I literally tried calling a few minutes ago and they didn’t even care or try and fix the problem. The health department needs to be involved immediately

I stayed here early in the morning in the stairs E room 224 I paid 327 dollars, my boyfriend had smoked in his car before we went in and we only stayed three hours because he took a shower & the bed wasn’t comfortable so we decided to leave & when I went to give in the key & get my deposit of 200( I didn’t want the 127) they said no because apparently I smoked in the room and I had thrown the ashes in the bathtub & it was just pieces of fabric of his black socks and I told them ‘let’s go upstairs so you can see that we didn’t smoke’ and she said ‘no. The manger said to stay with your deposit.’ The problem isn’t the money, the problem is the way they wanna rob your money

I am frustrated with the front desk at this property. I stayed here a few days ago with my boyfriend and left a small electronic pen to my cell phone in the room. I called the front desk twice looking to see if it was recovered and nobody has yet to follow-up. The first time I called 3/28 at 3:45 pm a woman responded, took my name and number and info regarding my lost pen and said she would follow-up. Then I called again the following morning which is today, 3/29 at 8:04 am and spoke with a gentleman who did the same and said he would follow- up with housekeeping. I am frustrated because there has been no call back. How long does it really take to speak with someone in housekeeping?? I used to be a front desk agent and all lost and found items would be reported in a log, and reported in a closing recap at the end of a shift. Doesn't matter if it's different departments, front desk or housekeeping, there should be an efficient way to follow up on issues like this. Now I'm forced to write this review hoping there's a competent manager at this property who can follow-up on this matter and return my call.

Didn't even stay at the hotel after paying double. paid previous to vacation stay , arrived at hotel had to pay again after an hour and a half of fighting the fact that I already paid for the room, was not satisfied . I requested back in May or the beginning of June when I reserved the room for a handicap room with two queen beds 4 people, was not told they only had one handicap room with one bed through bookings.com. upon arrival to New Jersey at 3:00 in the afternoon I called them to confirm my room which was handicapped it was confirmed told them I wouldn't be there until later to check in. when I got there I couldn't even enter the room and turn my wheelchair around. manager refused to speak to me on the phone or in person after discussing the whole thing for 3 hours in the end I ended up calling the New Jersey Police department they found us another room after calling the same hotels that had no rooms available . was told I could get a refund if I didn't stay in the room that night , which obviously we did not sleep in we did not stay the night ..upon calling the next morning I was told I can't get a refund the manager Lorena is a piece of s*** who does not do her job but the young man that dealt with us for three plus hours was very nice friendly and calm he did a wonderful job and tried to help us but it was on the manager's shoulders and she was totally worth nothing and I do not and will never recommend staying at Best Western fort Lee New Jersey to anyone p it was the worst experience of my life

Do your best to stay away from here. This place will do it’s utmost best to take advantage of you. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. On top of that they claim I was able to rip a bathroom door off the frame without getting a noise complaint. Ridiculous behavior and management is not helpful or even present. They claim they have proof but it is impossible to get through to anyone cause staff will pick up the phone and hang up or leave you hanging until you give up.

Location is great snd rooms are clean. Works perfect for a night but I will say it’s very quiet so you literally hear EVERYTHING from the door outside shutting all morning and Nevermind the maids. They yell down the hallway even though you have a do not disturb sign hanging on your door. Like I said it’s good for a night but I wouldn’t stay longer than that.

Great location near George Washington Bridge to NYC. Our room was clean, bathroom clean and bed is comfy...plus quiet. The little fridge was clean and good to keep our drinks nice and cold. Enjoyed our stay...just right.

I was working the graveyard shift. I needed a quiet place to sleep during day. But found out hard way it was never going to happen at this hotel. Noise started at about 9a every day. It would be intermittent all day. The long hallway with all rooms made every sound louder (megaphone) housekeeping could give a s***t about do not disturb sign on my door. I slept about 2 hours a day for the time I spent there. Not a place to stay if you want to sleep in the day.

No one answered the phone in the evening, when I tried to call and say that I needed to check-in late or the next morning. Went in the morning, and they canceled my 2 night reservation altogether. And this was after I arrived at 8:30a and waited 30m for the front desk person to arrive to tell me that. I had a 9a meeting and had needed to checkin and jump on WiFi. They screwed everything up. They told me that I needed to rebook my 2nd night again, and then pay a $75 early checkin fee. I will never stay here. Service was horrible.

There were people partying on both sides of our room, all night long. We called and requested assistance and the front desk did come up and it was quiet for about an hour. Then the partying started again, at 4 am the party people decided to start smashing glass bottles and then ripped the fire sprinkler out of the wall, triggering the fire alarm for the next hour and a half. At 6 am the group was escorted out by police finally. We got no sleep all night. In addition to that the paint was peeling off the walls due to moisture issues in the room. The second night we moved to a different room, but the beds were equally terrible in both. We requested a refund for just the first night and corporate denied it. I would never stay at this, or ANY Best Western again! This weekend we stayed across the street at the Doubletree for about the same amount of money and a way better experience. Save yourself!

  • 1/5 Mustafa K. 1 year ago on Google
We had bedbug issues. They claimed my refund for one day had been issued but It do not come true. I sent them a statement but they did not care about it. Terrible experience. I trust here since it is a Best Western hotel but, Best Western directed me to the hotel manager instead of taking care of issues. Never ever staying at Best Western!

The young lady that checked me in was super sweet. The bathroom was new and clean and the room was super clean. I was happy with my stay. Walls are a little thin if you're looking for privacy I would suggest maybe somewhere else. But it was perfect for what I needed it for, to be close to work and get there quickly.

My husband and I stopped there last week and I had to come back for a review! This place is great, a very clean place, and breakfast they have different options which is outstanding. A very great customer service as well, staff is very welcoming and helpful. Very good experience and would definitely come again!

The room itself wasn't too bad; the bed was comfy and lots of channels on the TV but there was no hot water so I didn't shower and the desk clerk's reaction to my complaint was totally lame. The location is horrible.
