Stayed in the Hyatt Place recently on July 11, 12, 2023. $190 a night, plus parking, plus pet charges. The rooms are nice, they’re clean. However: We chose this hotel, as I’m sure many do, to have a place to travel over to mid-town NYC Manhattan Port Authority / Time Square. There is information on the Internet that gives the impression there is bus service directly from this hotel to the NYC Manhattan Port Authority / Time Square. There isn’t. This is the reason we stayed at this hotel. The hotel should taken measures to get rid of this misleading information. Because it affects how people makes decisions to stay in a hotel, or not to. Along these lines, front desk personnel at this hotel, when asked about bus travel over to the Port Authority incorrectly told us we could walk “against” the extremely high volume and dangerous I-95 northbound in front of the Hyatt to an Exxon gas station that is located south of the hotel about ten minutes away and from the Exxon gas station get on a bus to the Manhattan Port Authority. The problem with this: One employee said there is a sidewalk to walk on. There is not. False information. You have to walk on the shoulder that is very dangerous, because high volume traffic is frequently on the shoulder, and there is nowhere to go if a car is coming at you at 70 mph. But most importantly, there is no bus line from the Exxon gas station bus stop to the Port Authority. That bus line, Route 171, goes from Patterson NJ to the NY side of after crossing over the George Washington Bridge. That’s where that route stops that originates from Patterson, NJ. There is not continuation to the Port Authority. So if someone took that wrong information from the front desk employees , the guests would have to then walk all the way back to the hotel along that extremely dangerous shoulder, with their backs to the high -volume traffic, and walk back to the hotel. People would not be happy. In fact, they would be steamingly mad. The hotel needs to make sure the information their employees give out is correct. Take care of the little things. In terms of taking a bus near the Ft Lee Hyatt Place hotel to the PA, on can catch the bus Route 158 line on Central Avenue and Main Street in Ft Lee, which by walking, one can get there in 10-15 minutes from the Hyatt. Which would not be bad. But, where the Hyatt Place is located on the crazy busy highways in front of the hotel, it is impossible to walk to this bus stop. Can’t be done. Can’t walk behind the hotel, there is a tall rock cliff impossible to climb, besides the hotel fence. So if you have a car you can drive the short distance (5 minutes) over to Central and Main and then pay all day municipal parking for about $20-$30 dollars. So the problem: The location of the hotel makes it extremely costly to take the “right” bus to the PA. The hotel will charge you $12 a day to park overnight. The problem with this is unless you look deeply into their website, you won’t know this until you check in. And as one person reviewed, their parking lot is very large and often with a bunch of empty parking spaces, why are they charging you $12 to park? Money grab. Instead of telling you your room rate will be $190 a night (which we paid), just stop hiding the final fee and tell folks it’s $202. The hotel charges you $75 fee for a pet. I have stayed in many hotels with our pet. The highest I ever paid was $40 a night. Again money grab. Hotels should understand it’s the little things that often determine if a guest returns or not for a stay. Take care of the little things, be up front and honest. Give correct information. Don’t give the impression the company is only seeking to get as much out of the guest as possible and not be up front about the money grab. And finally, if guests wish to stay in a Ft Lee hotel in order to bus over to mid town NYC to see a show or Time Square, “do not” stay in this hotel. It’s confusing, it’s dangerous and it’s costly. Finally, if you read this, ask yourself. Does this sound truthful?

Room was clean but front staffs need more training. Parking wasn't free anymore and it's somewhat noisy hotel due to location. There was ev charger at parking but cost twice more than super charger. Most of same level/grade hotels provide free destination chargers/charging, and management should revise it

First time using Hyatt Place and I loved it. Great value for the price. Quiet and family friendly as well. Customer service was okay. Hot breakfast was okay 👌. EV charging station on site. Key card accessible Ice room. Laundry onsite, that takes quarters. Latoya did great with our room service. Will definitely use Hyatt Place again in the future. 😄🤗

I stayed in a room on the second floor. The property is clean. The room I stayed in was clean and well maintained. Parking is NOT free as stated on this Google page. The fee for parking is $12.80 per night as of July 2023. There is a free continental breakfast that start at 630AM. There is also a Starbucks to the left of the hotel when you come outside approximately 1 block away.

My family of five stayed here on December 10 to 12. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring New Jersey and new York city. Times Square is about 20 minutes from the hotel with no traffic. The hotel has a restaurant where you can order food from, I believe it's available until 2:00 am. There are also other options around if you drive 5 to 10 minutes from the hotel. There are no options within walking distance as the hotel is by the highway. There are two gas stations just before you pull into the hotel. The room we stayed in was clean and with enough space for the 5 of us. We were on the eight floor facing the highway. The hotel offers breakfast from 6:00 to 9:00 am. The breakfast selection was great!! They offered cereal, eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, apples, bananas, oatmeal, almond and regular milk, orang juice, apple juice and coffee. The lobby was always clean and smelling good. The room also smelled clean and fresh. Not noisy at all. The staff was friendly all the time.

Staff was very helpful and got us checked in early. Room & bathroom were clean. The pizza from their night time restaurant is amazing! They had a fenced in dog potty area around back, which was small but good. The entrance from the highway is definitely a little tricky but manageable. We were attending a concert at MetLife Stadium and the drive distance was not bad at all.

Great hotel.. The best Hyatt Place I have been to. The individuals at the reception were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast food was very good. Kudos to the hotel staff -no matter how busy it gets, the food was available and the area was kept clean. The rooms are in great condition as well as the hotel overall. The hotel location is close to NYC which was very convenient for me visiting the city (I was driving - not sure about public transportation)

A great experience from the original phone call with questions for our stay to checking out! Comfortable, clean, contemporary, cool - and free parking! The stay was perfect with the exception of a particular situation with a group of kids running up and down the halls and literally playing cards in front of the bank of elevators (can't make this up). The hotel staff took care of it immediately!, and no problems with the people/kids after that. It's a wonderful stay - and quiet! Tall shower - on the 8th floor, with probably below average water pressure - that shouldn't be a reason to not stay, just be aware of it. Go stay there and have a great time!

Honestly this was a really nice hotel and I'd love to give it 5 stars. Breakfast was good, service was great and I loved my room. The 2 things keeps it from 5 stars were charging for parking and the location. It seems silly to charge for parking when there is plenty of space, it's not covered or protected, and the doubletree 100 yards away doesn't charge for parking. The location is good if you plan to drive across the bridge most days. Otherwise it's kind of a pain because you end up having to circle around a lot since it's on an eastbound side only. Its also hard to walk anywhere or to public transportation from here.

The room is clean and quite. On-site parking with additional $12 per night. Breakfast is serving from 6:30-9:30 but the staff starts cleaning up around 9 am. Highly recommended if you are planning to NYC

Rooms are poorly maintained-the shower barely works, doors scratched, coffee machine is horrible. Stains on the sofa. We called the front desk to ask for toothpaste, of course we only realized when it was time for shower and we had to get dressed and go all the way down to the front desk as no one was able to bring it to the room. Very inconvenient. No safe in the room (weird and not ok for a room with a connecting door, had to take our valuables with us). The property looks and feels dated even though the website says it was “renovated” in 2020. No slippers, no bathrobes, no basic comfort. Morning update: have never had a breakfast that bad! What a shame, Hyatt. Paper plates and plastic cutlery for 250$/night? Really?!

The hotel rooms were very clean and had lots of amenities. The reception was also very friendly, and helped us find places to eat nearby. They also have a breakfast buffet, but it was very crowded and... not the cleanest, to say the least. On another note, the hotel is located literally right next to a highway, so you can get to other places very fast.

I stayed four nights on a business trip, and really wanted to like this Hyatt as I spend several weeks every year in the area, and this hotel is much closer to my client than the one I've been using for years. It looks like I will go back to staying at my regular hotel. I started sensing it was going to be an uphill battle when I reached the hotel mid-morning, and they told me they didn't have a room for me. I do know the check in time is later, but it is also true that no less than 5 people checked out just while I was parking. So, a customer oriented hotel would have accelerated the cleaning of a room and assigned it to the poor guy that just got out from a 15 hours flight. That was me. Instead the lady at the front desk informed me that she sent an email (an email!) to housekeeping, and that she expected a response and an available room in 2 to 3 hours. Otherwise, even if the location is as unattractive as it can be (facing the highway), the hotel itself looks pretty nice and new, and the rooms are pleasant, like the gym. But their worst problem is the breakfast. That is served in a very small area that can only accomodate a fraction of the guests. The result is absolute chaos every morning, with long lines, large crowds camping in the lobby area, and food and drinks that run out very fast, and get replenished very slowly. An awfully unpleasant way to start the day. In addition, I had to call (from another continent) to get my folio, and I am still waiting, one week after check out, for my deposit to be released. In conclusion, I will not be back. Still, it's not the worst place if you value the proximity to the George Washington bridge, have a short stay and can have breakfast outside of peak hour, or, better, elsewhere.

Customer service is good, rooms are old fashioned with lack of maintenance. Don't get trapped on breakfast inclusive deal, as it's better to get a coffee and doughnuts from outside. The location is on the highway with a lot of paid parking. There is no swimming pool and no gym, so it's not a good vacation spot. The front view is towards the highway, while the rear rooms are facing towards private homes.

There’s a young lady working at the front desk being very unprofessional and disrespectful. Her initial is B or S I forgot. She ignores your inquiry and pretends she didn’t see/hear you. The other staffs were all pretty nice except for this girl who seemed to be unwilling to render any service to our group, which made us very confused because we have been very polite and respectful. I don’t wanna accuse her of being discriminative but it’s hard to think of any reason of the way she behaved. This is a first time situation at any hotel we have stayed before. Location wise, you need to expect only driving or using ride app to commute. It literally locates next to the highway so it is impossible to walk to any bus stops. Overall rooms were great. Free breakfast was a plus. Be mindful that they only had one set of laundry so reserve some time!

We stayed here for 5 nights visiting family. We initially had a room in the highway side (front) of the hotel, but moved after 2 nights because it was too noisy due to the road, like all night traffic that you hear through the windows. New room on the back side of the hotel was much quieter, and also a bit cleaner. Quite a few cleaning staff on hand, which was good to see as some hotels are still trying to operate with a skeleton crew. There is a little bar/restaurant in the lobby, which had pretty decent food and drinks. All the staff I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. Would probably stay here again when visiting Fort Lee but just be aware that nothing is walkable from here. Google tells you do walk to the street behind the hotel but you can't because it's a fenced off cliff. You need a car/Uber to get anywhere when staying here.

Good size rooms and clean hotel but it's not a good option for EV drivers anymore. I used to frequent this hotel due to convenience of having complementary electric vehicle charging. During the most recent visit, I noted that they removed the free charging station with EVBox, which is not even working yet. Overall, it is a good hotel. 2-Star is due to the hotel reducing its amenities without notice.

Ft. Lee NJ Hyatt Place is a great hotel. It's new (writing this review in 2022) or at least is newly renovated - nice hotel inside and out. Clean facilities, great staff. Overall 5 out of 5 stars. What I liked: clean towels, clean rooms, clean hotel. Decent breakfast although it could be changed up from day to day as eating the same menu every day can get old quickly. Parking was easy. easy access to the hotel from NJ rt. 4. What I didn't like: There is a $10 / day parking charge - no reason for this - it should just be absorbed into the room fee.

I stayed the Hyatt Place in Fort Lee for 5 nights and I have no complaints. The staff was friendly the free breakfast was a buffet style and very nice. The rooms were clean and the quality of the rooms were up to par. You will have to pay for parking but it's only 10 dollars. This hotel isn't very accessible for public transit so I would recommend parking somewhere along the New Jersey PATH Train Stations to get into New York City. Overall a good hotel to stay in and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay that close to New York City.

I return to this hotel whenever I visit New York. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. You can relax in the rooms without having to sit on the bed. It is an affordable hotel, but has a luxurious feel due to its modern and spacious nature. The room service is friendly and accommodating. Special mention for Beatrice who is always competent and professional. She remembered me from a previous visit and always took the time to acknowledge me.

Nice, clean rooms - much more spacious than you would find in NYC. Relatively cheap on-site parking. Great service. Great option for an overnight stay very close to - but much cheaper than - NYC.

Front desk was very non-committal on whether they could accommodate a small trailer for parking. In addition, they said it would cost $100 to park there per night. It was like pulling teeth from the front desk representative on any questions I had on parking. While I found this Hyatt Place to be good before, I won’t be staying after my recent experiences. There are better nearby options.

What a great hotel! Price was perfect. Wonderful restaurant for a quick bite at arrival. Amazing shower. Quiet, clean and great workspace to catch up on things! Parking right outside. Carol and Elizabeth were lovely and helped us have an amazing stay!!

Amazing place, It's clean, front desk is very friendly and helpful. Most of the room serves that I requested I did not get, I asked for toothpaste. I was told to come down and get it. They refused to bring it up. No food or water or any other delivery to the room whatsoever, With all taken and consideration, this place is amazing. I am a repeat customer.

Family and I had a great experience. Ran into a little issue with breakfast but it was fixed immediately! The gym was nice. The staff were beyond kind and helpful whenever any inconvenience came up. The hotel is located in the middle of multiple cities and attractions, the traffic tends to get a little crazy. Makes it hard to get into and out of the hotel entry/exit way. If you are going too fast, you may miss the entrance of the hotel. You do have to pay for parking, but it is surprisingly cheap compared to the other hotels in the area. I will definitely book again if I ever travel back to this area of New Jersey.

I love staying at the Hyatt but This was my first time staying at this location and it’s really nice! I love its location because you have everything nearby. Mall, park, good food, spa, Bar, Movie theater, you name it they have it. They also have a restaurant and a bar in the lobby that has amazing food! I enjoyed my stay!

Customer service is incredible. The staff are very friendly. The hotel was VERY clean and beautiful. Our room was upgraded because of our higher rate which is very appreciated. There was some noise from the highway which is to be expended given the location. We had an instance of noise around our level last night which customer service contacted me about which I very much appreciated. I feel like if I had my white noise machine I wouldn’t have noticed it much. There are so many sitting areas in the lobby with tvs and computers which I thought was a nice touch. Overall, it was a good stay and I would stay again.

First time staying here. The room was nice and clean but i will never stay here again. Never been to a hotel who charges guests to pay for parking. On top of it charging me 100 dollars in case i damage things but getting that back when the room was in perfect condition is like pulling teeth. I didnt even stay overnight. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Everyone serving guests was very friendly and provided very good service with a smile. The entire property was clean. I would have given 5 stars, however, I think there should be microwaves in rooms. Also, I was disappointed at the length of lines for breakfast, and many persons, including children who had been in line long before 9am had to walk away without breakfast. The duration of breakfast in light of the pandemic should be extended as people are distancing and that means a longer wait.

Decided to stay here while visiting area on business and I am pleasantly surprise in how clean and spacious this hotel is. The front desk team is super polite and welcoming. My room is very comfortable and the bathroom including the shower is clean. There is plenty of parking but it comes at a cost of $10/night. The lobby is very well done with lots of sitting area. There is a restaurant on the main floor and it’s open till very late which is a big plus for those of us who work late and don’t want to venture out after a long day. The hotel is perfectly located near the expressway leading to GW bridge. If you decide to dine out I have noticed that many restaurants are located within a short 5 min drive

We recently had a large group of out of town wedding guests stay in the Hyatt Place. The staff was friendly and helpful….from the front desk to the housekeeping to the food service and the bar. They could not do enough to make our guests feel welcome. The rooms were clean and well maintained. There was a free breakfast in the morning with enough variety for everyone to find something. The lunch/dinner food was delicious especially the veg flatbread and the bar was well stocked. Besides our guests staying there, we also stayed there for 5 days and felt very comfortable for the extended stay. The location is great, not far from NYC and also close to some beautiful walking trails along the Hudson River. Overall great place to stay!! Would like to give a special thanks to Samira and Sydney who helped coordinate our event and a special brunch for our wedding guests the next day!

There was a bug in the bathroom!! OMG! It could've been bed bugs ticks or something. I never experienced this before at a hyatt, and I requested to be placed with a nice view. Instead, we were placed facing the dumpster, which woke us up at 5 a.m., which kept dumping for an hour! The man who checked us in was very rude and didn't speak clearly. I asked him to repeat what he said, and I still had no idea what he said since he had no idea what he was saying, and his words were slurred while he spoke so fast. Then we asked for water, and they denied me it even though I am a Hyatt member, and I got free waters at a Category 6 Hyatt hotel last week when I was in Florida, but this place said no, is this a joke? So, it was by far the most despicable pathetic experience. We were quite disappointed that hyatt service fell poorly. I would not recommend staying at this location at Hyatt Place location. I've been to other Hyatt Place locations, but this location has been the worst so far. If you're desperate, then stay at your own discretion.

Stayed here with the family for 10 days. Everything was perfect, rooms are well sized and clean. Area is also good, shops, restaurants and all is nearby. Big Parking place and they even have a restaurant for food and drinks. The staff is very friendly but Melvin really made our stay even more pleasant. He is such a very very friendly, nice and helpful person.

Location, fine. Rooms are as expected but the front desk/bar service was deplorable. The ponytailed guy in the suit, Michael, had attitude from the minute we walked in. I only learned his name the next morning after talking to the am supervisor, as Michael didnt wear any nametag the whole time and was using a bartender’s ID to write and ring info. Abrupt and curt. Like he wanted to be anywhere else but the Hyatt. Later, I went down to the bar to get a glass of wine. I asked for a bar menu, and he acted as if I was inconveniencing him. He then slid the menu over and stared at me the entire time without saying one word. I ordered a glass of wine, and they serve 5 and 9 oz glasses (one is $6 and the other $9). He pours me a 5 oz glass and then gives me the bill for roughly $11. I looked and he charged me $10.25. I was fine with paying for a larger glass despite getting the smaller glass but when I told him about the billing mistake, he said the extra amount was tax. It was not, as there was a separate line item for tax. Instead of any apology, he just said “Im just going to give you more wine because I already charged you.” At this point, he was such a jerk, I told him I wanted to pay the right price and he continued to refuse and said he would have to void the charge. I said that was fine, and instead of doing it, he proceeded to get bills and food for other customers. Then he gave me a receipt showing no void. He said he voided it but the system doesn't show it. He then said he needed my cc to charge again. I told him I would pay in cash and proceeded to go up to my room. At that point, I was so irritated, I came down and just pushed the glass of wine back towards him, said I didn't want the wine anymore and that he had been nothing but rude to me, that he’d more than doubled the price for a 5 oz glass and thar the least he could do was apologize instead of giving me attitude. He then said “fine, don't drink the wine.” As I was leaving, I heard him tell the bartender I was upset about the tax. I wonder if he’s skimming off the top by overcharging guests without them noticing. Otherwise, why lie to to the bartender? Honestly, I have stayed at many Hyatt hotels and have never come across such a rude individual. It is clear he hates his job and finds people tedious, but if that is the case find another job. Being inhospitable in the hospitality industry is a clear indication that the person is not the right fit. I was shocked to learn the next morning that he is actually the night supervisor. If he were the supervisor at all Hyatt, the business would go bankrupt. I’ve stayed at many Hyatt hotels, and perhaps the difference is that this was not a Grand Hyatt, where I’ve received impeccable service, but I won’t be returning to this location. It’s a shame, because his attitude ruined what would otherwise been a fine impression of the hotel.

Good sized rooms. Have the option of queen beds plus a sofa bed, so great for families. Within 25 minutes of Times Square. Breakfast included, it’s basic. Parking is NOT free. It’s 12$ a night.

Very beautiful and neat. Very clean. Only flaw is water is NOT complimentary and is $4 a bottle. There are no stores near by to grab drinks or snacks. They also have rooftop areas to relax but is ONLY available for people who rents events. Other than that it was a great experience!

Hotels just seem to blend into each other. It's rare to find an unforgettable hotel but this one is just that. The front desk employees were welcoming and went above and beyond to welcome our pet with treats. The room was pristine and smelled fresh. The shower was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. I wish I like NYC more because this would be where I'd stay when I visit the area. Highly recommend staying here! Thank you, Hyatt? You sure know how to hire good folks!

Incredible stay! Was here Monday-Friday, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Awesome staff they were always so nice and more than willing to help. The bar/restaurant area in the lobby is top-notch, a great place to have a post-work meeting or unwind. The food at this bar/restaurant is delicious (you have to get the wings they’re sooooo good). Will absolutely stay here again.

Nice and clean hotel. Everyone was so nice. Breakfast was as decent. Location was a little awkward and around nothing else and a little hard to get to to anything. Access to NYC was easy enough though.

Rooms are clean. Clean staff barely speak the language but they are willing to help with a phone translation. Free breakfast is nice but it gets crowded towards the end . U can't beat the location since it is next to the bridge. The only complaint is they charge you for a parking fee daily which is kinda turn off.

This is one of my favorite hotels in Jersey. Everything is well kept, up to date and clean. The staff is very nice. Parking is free and plenty. It’s close to the city. The only I don’t like is the $200 deposit but I understand it.

Can't give 1/2 stars, but would rate this hotel 4.5 for sure! It's newer and the location was perfect for our vacation, just a short drive to the city! It was great for us. The rooms had offered enough space for the 5 of us and since it was a newer hotel, it was clean, staff was friendly and the place felt safe and comfortable. The price point was also there as well for our stay, it wasn't too out of the world for a room. The breakfast was large but busy. They kept up with replenishing food items and had a large variety. The bar and food menu for late night were a little pricy but it was more of a convivence than anything. There is a nightly parking fee, it was a little much, the lot is NOT gated or locked so I am not sure why the fee, but you can come and go as you want, which is nice. Hard finding newer hotels and just happy we decided to stay here. It was all about convivence for us and it worked perfectly!

This is my 2nd time staying here for a quick wknd getaway to visit family/friends the NYC area. Each time it seems to be very well staffed, exceptionally clean, and welcoming. While traveling has become disappointing at many places since COVID began, this place has managed to be top notch - even better than any high end resorts I've stayed in during the pandemic. Parking is easy, they are pet friendly, breakfast is good, and plenty of food options nearby. Only frustrating thing is the entry way. The signage is not clear and if you aren't super attentive you will miss your turn and/or get run over by the crazy drivers while trying to slow down and turn in.

Everything ok in the hotel, nice rooms, quite modern and new, but rather poor american breakfast when we count 4*hotel. Restaurant also with limited menu, at least good taste burgers 😉. Bar prepared well for guests and drinks are made with proper experiance 😉 Localisation- very close to the highway, what means it is noisy around.

Clean hotel. Spacious rooms with good prices. Friendly staff. Housekeeping only came once and we were there for 5 days. Location is nice but hard to get out of the parking lot. Would stay again in short notice. If you want to be in New York then don’t stay here. You pay $17 to cross the George Washington bridge unless you take a longer way around.
