Many things changed throughout the years in this park. Many upgrades and beautiful scenery. Shops, stores and restaurants all within short walking distance. Public restrooms with pier access. Upscale hotels border the surrounding area. Following hurricane Ian and the damage that occurred, we got to visit the memorial that was put in place for those who lost their lives. I will always remember that time and what residents went thru here. A special thanks to those who preserved what still remained. The city keeps a close watch here and it shows. Ty!

What a fantastic park the new Centennial Park turned out to be. Our kids absolutely love this park and they are always asking to go back. There is something for every age and even adults can enjoy the park with their kids, at least I do lol Even for kids with sensitivity traits also enjoy this park very much. My oldest son has autism and he really likes the net swing. There is a very tall tower and slide but there is also an area for toddlers with shorter slides. The park looks well maintained and it gets pretty busy during the weekend. It used to be free to park but there is a fee now and you have to pay for it using the app so make sure to bring your phone if you decide to drive here.

Great park with some of the biggest slides in fort myers, kids love it. Great climbing activities and good shaded areas. Gated which is nice so kids can’t just wonder. One downside is all the homeless people around the area, not a good look but they don’t bother thankfully. Also right by the water and the kids love that!!!

Always a nice go too. Wish the city would put more money into the playground equipment. Needs revamped especially with all the new growth in the city. (Update may/28/22) Finally we have a new playground. Opening soon!

Well, let me start off by saying that working this event was great with Ft Myers Marine !!! Their Team deserves 5 STARS !!! As for the venue, it was awful !!! Over crowded no restrooms and the food venue was dismal!!! Whoever thought this place was a good venue for a boat show needs their head examined!! Next year, move it to a place with more room and better options.. Walking around this dump was like playing a human version of Mouse Trap, blocked off sidewalks and roads, Zigzag walkways, and extreme heat with no one to point you in the right direction !!!! Plus, the parking was an absolute nightmare at this event 😫 😫

I recently visited Centennial Park in Fort Myers, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The park is beautifully designed and maintained, with a variety of activities and amenities that make it a great place for people of all ages. The park has a large playground area that is perfect for children, with plenty of swings, slides, and climbing equipment. My children had a blast playing there while I relaxed on one of the nearby benches and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The park also has a large splash pad, which is perfect for those hot Florida days. The water features were well-designed and provided hours of entertainment for my children. The walking paths in the park are well-maintained and offer a scenic view of the Caloosahatchee River. I enjoyed taking a leisurely stroll while taking in the beautiful views of the river and the surrounding area. The park also has a large amphitheater that hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including concerts, movies, and festivals. It's a great place to gather with friends and family and enjoy some live entertainment. Overall, my experience at Centennial Park in Fort Myers was nothing short of amazing. The park has something for everyone, from children's playgrounds to walking paths and live entertainment. The park is clean, well-maintained, and definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing day out in Fort Myers.

Such a great park! The young girl I was nannying was in heaven! The structures themselves are extremely solid. Even the climbing rope looked to be wrapped around stainless steel. Whatever company built this place had safety, fun, and weatherproofing in mind. I was extremely impressed coming here. The ground is also very squishy so if your child did happen to fall they would be alright. It’s a pretty location as well, right on the Caloosahatchee river. We saw many people walking their dogs on nearby trails. Nice area for the rest of town mostly still renovating from the hurricane last year.

What a great park experience. Something to do for all ages. I took my 13 year old son and 5 year old daughter and we had endless fun. The playground is awesome. So much to do and explore and it was built very sturdy and nice touches with color etc. your right next to the river and the surrounding areas were nice. The fountain was good also. It would be nice to have some benches placed for parents to sit at but I still made it work. Definitely recommend stopping by to play on the playground.

One of the oldest places to visit. It preserves the history with the 3 statues of legendary men who contribute to this nation in different ways. The view is spectacular to the Caloosahatchee River. The amphitheatre is new, part of the hotel across the street. We had enjoyed a recent concert with Lee Greenwood.

Awesome park! Way to invest in the future of children and of our City! Ample play areas for all ages. Tot spot for littlest, covered seats for tired parents. A nature hunt to find cool stamp/medallions on the play place posts. And ability for special needs children to participate in the playground as well! I don’t like to criticize but the only enhancement would be a large covering to make shade available in the FL heat! We come here often and encourage you to too!

Spent the evening here handing out food for people in need. Its a beautiful location and has multiple spots with an awning/cover for when it rains or you need a break from the sun. Beautiful spot, right on the water. Definitely a nice place to get some fresh air and take in the scenery.

It's turned from a nice family park to a homeless camp center. It's very sad nowhere for the homeless to go. Tried to get a table under the pavilion to do a memorial balloon release for my nieces would've been 18th b-day. And we couldn't even get anywhere the pavilion without being harassed and begged for money. It was quite upsetting.

This used to be a public park with a play ground for kids. Now most of it is gated off and held strictly for private events with even more gates you can't even watch the sunset from benches or go the fishing pier. Nothing has been done except remove the play ground , shut down the bathrooms and water fountains. It's like there slowing removing the park from public to private only.

The recently renovated Centennial park has several amazing features. From a 2 octave Xylophone and 4 plastic drums, to a super high climbing apparatus with twisty slides, a really cool cargo climbing area, swings, a spinning feature and a rocker boat!!! There's only a couple drawbacks, port-a-pottys missing toilet paper, and very little shade. Other than that, it's great 👍 ( FREE PARKING!!!)

It's a great place to come and chill. Relax and collect your thoughts, or just have a cup of coffee from the nearby Starbucks and enjoy the scenery.. The only reason why I didn't give 5 Stars is because of the crowd of homeless people who I think live here and take up every seat and table under the gazebo.. and because of those same people the public restrooms are usually packed and destroyed as well..

Took a walk on a breezy day. Facilities here are in good shape. Located in pretty 'urban' environment, yet a gem of a place. This is what's good about Fort Myers. You are never too far from water and nature. Parking is ample and you need to pay at the meter. There was some kind of renovation work going on in a neighboring building, but that wasn't in the way. You can walk out to the pier. Plenty of duck and gulls to be seen. Gives you good view of the bridges connecting Fort Myers and Cape Coral. Not sure about fishing as I did not see many trying. Perhaps it was too windy and chilly. Many walk their dog and rightly so. Great place for kids to run around and take in the fresh air.

We highly recommend this house tour. The docent shared a wealth of information about the history of the area, house, the families that lived in the Burroughs house and their friendships with people in the Ft. Myers area. We were able to tour all three floors of the house. This house is in excellent condition and an accurate example of homes from that period in history. Must see!!

This is probably the nicest full sized park in Fort Myers. There's a fountain, playground, fishing pier and of course the river and docks. Right now (Sept 2020) 1/2 of it is closed as they are renovating it and looks like they are adding some really cool stuff, like a soundstage and seating for events. Don't know how long it's going to be closed but it should be even better when that half opens up again. It has Public restrooms and a lot of walking paths as well as a storm water Reservoir set up to help naturally clean storm water before returning it to the Caloosahatchee River. The Public Docks and Marina for boats is here as well and although it has a waiting list, live-aboards are allowed at this marina.

The Murphy-Burroughs House, also known as the Burroughs Home and Gardens, is a historic home in Fort Myers, Florida. It is located at 2505 1st Street. On August 1, 1984, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The Burroughs Home provides living history tours and functions as an event venue. The three-story home sits on the Caloosahatchee. The beautiful veranda wraps around 3 sides of the house. Mona's Dancing Porch extends from the East side of the Historic Structure. Completion of a large, open waterfront pavilion occurred in 2015 to accommodate weddings and events.

I went on a Christmas house tour here. After the overly long commentary on the front porch, we went inside to a blue and white wonderland! The downstairs rooms are very pretty even without the lovely Christmas decorations. Upstairs is ordinary. Due to the extra decorations downstairs, there were some things stuck upstairs to get them out of the way so we had to work around them. Most of the lights on the Christmas tree in the master bedroom were out. The third floor servants area was interesting but not decorated and, again, a bit of a storage area.

  • 5/5 Asia F. 3 years ago on Google
We are sad that covid restricted the upstairs parts of the houses but none the less we loved it still...the rooms are beautiful and the snowman scavenger hunt was too cute!! Its traditional for us yearly my daughter is almost 14 and she still loves it!!

Very poor info on FB and the website on how and where to buy tickets. Signage was only posted on one side of the street so we apparently waited in the wrong line only to be turned away to go over to another very long line. No thanks. Suggestion...take cash money at either house and let folks pick which house to visit as they see fit.

Bought guacamole, two flavors of honey, yellow mangoes, little bananas, fruit salad and wooden plaque with sun and moon burned into it. Other offerings that I will save for next time are tea, BBQ, jewelry, soaps, and fresh chimichiri. Definitely worth a visit!

My visit was about 3 weeks following Hurricane Ian so most of it was destroyed or greatly damaged. Huge cement debris pieces were everywhere. Several memorials are in place as you walk closer to the water. But I could still see that this was a beautiful park for everyone to meet up, children to play and grown ups to watch the sunset.

Great for walking dogs, there is a beautiful view of the sunset over the water from here as well. There are events in the green space, I recommend visiting for the sunset with your significant other.

Good ole Centennial Park. Great to walk the dogs, let the kids play or just take in the sights. Bathroom building is still under construction from the hurricane but there are a few portable restrooms to use. We paid for parking even though I didn't see a single other person pay. The sign says parking is never free. Better safe than sorry.
