The trails are really nice to walk on and are right next to the Mississippi River. I really like the Thomas C. Savage Visitor Center. There are interpretive exhibits displayed in the Thomas C. Savage Visitor Center. There is a great abundance of history and the resources of the park and the area. Spent an hour in the center before I went on the walk. After coming back from the walk, I went back into the visitor center and looked at the exhibits once more. I will return later on in the Spring. Enjoyed my time out there and you will too.

This history walk was amazing. True nature through and through. The truth telling of what really took place on this Indian soil is not the history you learn in school. The presentation was full of history and knowledge. The visitor center is nice place to visit with family but learn the cultural history of this place and understand the magnitude of what happened at these historical places.

A small visitor center about the founder, Thomas Savage, preserved this wetland. Free entrance and parking to exhibit. Friendly staff. Very clean and informative center with a small shop and bathroom.

Wonderful programs and excellent displays explaining the history of the site. Great to explore in summer and winter.

A good place to ask questions of the staff and get recommendations on where to hike. A small but very well-done set of displays on the history of the site - the Dakota "concentration camp" and the rare fen plants found along the rivers.

We went at the end of May with the Mississippi still high and were overwhelmed by mosquitoes.

Love this park and the visitor center. Good information on the Native American history. Always a good park to see wildlife too.

Very neat visitor center! It's really tucked back in the park! It's got that outdoor, up North feel too it. Clean facility with restrooms and places to sit. There's also a few places to read up on the park, wildlife, etc.

This is probably the nicest state park visitor's center I've ever been to. It was mostly closed, but the bathrooms were open and were immaculate. The part I could see was well kept, with community opportunities/learning and information about the park posted everywhere.

Great place for a bathroom break and refill water bottles. They even have a fresh water bowl for dogs that is connected to a tap.

Clean, quiet and welcoming. A few information posters, merchandise and great bathrooms. Not as popular as it seems
