Really
frustrating
self-checkout
process.
The
store
employees
guard
the
kiosks
and
are
terribly
confrontational
in
the
event
you
want
to,
you
know,
check
yourself
out…
they
REALLY
want
to
see
that
membership
card,
and
I
for
one
don’t
care
for
being
inspected.
Once
I
submitted
the
requisite
paperwork
and
was
awarded
the
coveted
self
check
scanner,
the
brooding
fellow
who
reluctantly
relinquished
it,
stood
looming,
and
yes,
brooding,
as
close
to
me
as
possible
without
touching
me.
At
one
point
I
had
to
ask
the
gentleman
to
step
back.
I’m
not
sure
how,
but
somebody’s
got
these
customer
service
people
set
out
to
guard
the
store
from
the
customers.
Terrible,
adversarial
experience.
I’ve
addressed
it
with
management
a
couple
of
times
to
no
avail
and
was
told
it’s
a
corporate
mandate
that
they
get
no
say
in.
If
you
don’t
want
to
do
self
checkout,
take
it
away,
lest
we
continue
to
live
under
this
facade
where
I
don’t
get
to
perform
the
most
fundamental
aspect
of
self
checkout.
