I grew up going to this museum so when we came here again recently, it just didn’t live up to my expectations. The remodel looks nice and all but nothing with how I remember it, which was a little disappointing. I was kind of shocked with how expensive admission to the museum is considering how much of the activities or displays were inoperable or broken. It took us maybe an hour to go thoroughly through the whole museum. I did like the new addition of the black history of Fort Worth but felt it was still severely lacking. As someone who currently lives in Historic Southside, I felt it did not mention very much of the history of this neighborhood. I didn’t even see it mention Mrs. Opal. I left the museum very disappointed. After paying $32 admission for just my husband and I plus $10 parking, I felt my money would’ve been spent better elsewhere. The building is nice though.

Our family loved the museum. There were so many activities for the kids to do. We were there for 4-5 hours and the kids didn't want to leave. We did not attend any imax or theater activities.

Chaperoned my kids field trip here. The kids had a great time. There’s lots of cool things for them to explore. I served in our military and was unaware they had a 9/11 exhibit with one of the beams from the Twin Towers. That was a little rough, as it’s the first thing you see when you walk in. I had to fight back some emotions and it gave me a little anxiety, but I guess that’s the point. This is absolutely a great place to take your kids and keep them entertained for a couple hours. They might even learn something.

It was a nice museum. We have kids that are 2,4, and 6. They didn’t really enjoy reading about the Fort Worth history. They spent the majority of their time at the children’s museum. It was raining so the Dino dig was closed. The cosmo park (outside playground) was also closed due to rain. There were several ushers and people to help guide you around exhibits. There was also a place you could do birthdays. The dinosaur section was rather small but there were cool fossilized eggs, long necks, and a t-Rex (skull only). In the dinosaur section there was a exhibit where you could color your own dinosaur then it would come to life on a giant projection just as you colored it. That was “pretty neat”. Wish we could have spent more time blowing bubbles in the outside section where they have an area with big bubble wands you can create big bubbles. We were hoping to get a gift at the shop but it was so small that we passed on it. There were many bathrooms that were easily accessible. The cafe looked nice but we didn’t eat there because we just had lunch. There were some unique things there and we had a good time. Overall we spent just over 2 hours. Expect to pay $6.00 for 2 hours of parking.

Pretty good for kids but sorta disappointing overall. While things seem to be slowly getting a little better in the past year or so, the entire place is greatly in need of some TLC - mostly because many of the exhibits are old and run down, and the entire place is sorta dirty with worn through paint and floors, and built up dirt. The exhibits upstairs are greatly improved though, especially the new flight exhibit.

To be clear, this is a children’s museum. I was expecting more adult centered exhibits, but nay nay. That said it was really awesome. There was so much to see and do. My children were captivated, if not a little overwhelmed at times. The dramatic play and science exploration areas were our favorites. I personally liked the glow/black light room. The planetarium was really cool and a fun experience. The dinosaur dig and the energy exhibits were the least entertaining. The big criticism is that the cafe is outrageously expensive. If you can, eat before you go.

The museum was set up more for children than for an adult. The IMAX theatre is not operational and the planetarium presentation of “Black Holes” was just too dark. Like the brightness was way too low to enjoy. I did enjoy the shell oil exhibit, the cattle museum, and the 3d world with presentations with earth and different planets again very juvenile like 8 years old would have been way cooler.

The museum is not bad. I thought it would be bigger but it wasn’t. I had no complaints about it but don’t think I would go back. It’s one of those places where you would go 1 time. It’s pricey for the size of it though. $16 and we took about 1 hour to stop and look at everything in there

This used to be such an amazing place when I was little but 3 + years no new exhibits the omni closed since before COVID , and it’s disgusting . We are member 150 dollars for this a year and they took away free parking for members . Dallas and Austin are blowing us out of water when it comes to children museums . The only perk is getting into other children’s places free . Staff is always super rude as well . So disappointed I kept hoping it would get better after COVID but it keeps going downhill .

We really enjoyed the Fort Worth Museum of Science. We visited on a Saturday morning and the crowd was not terrible. The dinosaur exhibits are fabulous and the movie regarding black holes in space was very interesting! It has a lot of Texas history and great exhibits. Tons of kid centered areas, too. Friendly staff and wonderful museum. I highly recommend it!

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and history is a solid science and history Museum that was a great time visiting. The museum is not the largest science and history museum by any means, but it still has some really great collections and exhibits to wonder through and learn a lot about the Fort Worth areas history and past. If you like cowboy and Western history, this museum has many great features relating to the Cowboy and Western Heritage of Fort Worth and Texas a s a whole. I would recommend giving this place a visit.

Perfect day at the museum for my 5 year old. Arrive early on a day in October & enjoy the museum’s first few hours of business in an off-peak month. Plenty of hands-on activities & a great outdoor Dino-dig. TBH, it was encouraging to see the museum was wrapping-up construction/modification of an outdoor lab space (it previously was WATER play) into what is now an adaptive playscape. For planning purposes, it would take 3-4 hours for a child to really explore and experience every exhibit. We stayed and played for 2 hours & left perfectly content.

My 5 year old had a great time and We ended up buying a year pass when leaving because the price is pretty worthwhile. You don't need a whole day here, around 2-3 hours is enough. We went a week ago and my kid is already planning his next visit. It's a great place to have fun and explore with your kids. Parents were just as entertained as their kids in the science area. We went during engineering week so there were additional displays which was amazing - a flight simulator and lego robotics interested us the most. Park in the cowgirl museum parking, it's poorly sign posted but this parking area is closer to the main entrance than the parking garage.

Great location and very clean facility. Wish every section had a lead presenter/guide to explain the importance of each area of the museum. Some of the electronic educational displays were not working due to being broken

My husband went here when he was younger and really enjoyed it. This was a super fun and interactive place to take the kids. It's geared towards younger kids, 10 and down, but my teen found some things interesting, as well. It is smaller than I thought it worked be, not as big is the Mayborn in Waco or the Children's Museum in Houston, but still a good experience. Very excited to try out the renovation omni theater when it reopens next year.

This place has gotten so much better over the years. There are active members of the team who help engage the kids, they keep the area clean, and even have separate STEM projects for the kids. I went on my son's field trip and we really enjoyed it. To top it off, they have a Chick-fil-a in the building. The place looks beautiful and very educational yet interactive. I can't wait for the IMAX to finally be remodeled in the future because I plan on taking my son asap.

Every time I visit here with my son it's like I'm revisiting again when I was a child and it brings me back happy memories. This place is so much fun and how big it is and all the different zones you could visit especially the dinosaur dig is my son's favorite zone. You definitely get more bang for your buck here especially when you're trying to teach your kids educational things. This place is for everyone!

Love this museum fun stuff for kids as well. Wish there was a bit more at this location for the adults. The auditorium is pretty cool. Had a few good videos about space. I especially liked the cowboy sections. Some interesting items I'm there

Great museum for our 4 and 6 year olds to explore. Role play in the pretend supermarket, giant ambulance or mail office. Colour in dinosaurs among the fossils. Explore science with lights, marble runs and enchanting physics demos. Everyone wants to try the bed of nails. Great astronomy displays. Two courtyards let you make giant bubbles outside or play in the play park. Reasonable cafe with burgers, pizza, salads and sandwiches. Rancher history section was engaging. Interesting planetarium show.

My goodness. I haven't been to this museum since I was a kid on a field trip. A LOT has changed. Mostly for the better. My kids had an absolute blast. We spent about 5 hrs there and those hours FLEW. We will have to get a membership, because just one day wasn't enough. I was a bit skeptical with other reviews, especially speaking on price. Yes it is a bit pricey, but y'all it was SO SO worth it. I love all the hands on stuff. That's how my kids learn best, so this museum did not disappoint. I'm so happy with the progress they have made since I came at my kids age and can't wait for the Omni part to open next year.

A nice clean museum. I would rate this for kids. For adults, not much excitement. Save your money and go to the Perot in Dallas. A very few dinosaurs, 3 full skeletons, a nice if not long, explanations of the planets, very limited in scope. I must say the planetarium show on black holes was not very informative and out of focus. Not to mention that it was an incubation room for COVID, coughing babies and children, almost NO one with masks. Disgusting. Only public place in Ft. Worth I would not recommend to a senior. Sorry.

Kid-focused. Ages 2, 5, and 7 all loved it. There is a small theater with moving seats that plays an 8 minute movie. The imax was closed for construction. Bubble areas, dinosaurs digging, pinwheel, air-based toys, mentos in pop bottles, dinosaur exhibits, jungle gym area, all sorts of things for kids to do.

Fun museum. My 3 year old had a great time. The biggest hit were the outside Dino dig, the rooms with coloring activities, and the planetarium.

Fun for kids under 8. It's gone downhill over the years, but it's still a good place to play for a couple of hours when it's too hot to be outside. They repainted Clifford, I guess they lost the rights. Summit's eyes haunt my dreams. Won't be renewing our membership this time around.

My kids and I love this place. So much to do and such a cool little set up! We could go back several times and not feel bored of it. I took my niece and my daughter here one day and they loved getting to work on so many different projects and play pretend in the super market or doctors office. It was a fun day. The food was not bad here either.

Very nice museum, very informative. Went to the planetarium show, which lasted about 25 min and it was really interesting, and learned a few things i didnt know about our solar system. My son loved the dino discovery where he serched for fossils, the bubble table by the waterfall, and all other interactive games they had there. Great place to visit if in that area.

Good place for kids. There is a lot to do for kids but I think it is still very small. Best was Nobel planetarium and Texas cattle. Rest was just ok.

This is a great place to bring your young kids. My 7 year old loved the Planetarium and my son loved the Childrens Museum. They both loved the Dino Dig and the coloring your own Dinosaur area. The Omni Theater is currently closed for modernization, but from what I hear it's going to be amazing when it opens back up.
