Amazing trip and located right across from the Ft Worth Zoo! I went with a field trip and other parents. The visit was educational and fun with each station well presented and engaging for the kids. They had an opportunity to make candles and the souvenirs were great. Each kid walked away excited to have been there. And the adults had fun too.

Wonderful place to learn history! The staff is very knowledgeable and engaging. They answered any questions my kids asked and let them give a hand at dipping candles. We had a great time.

I've lived here for 35 years and didn't know this was here. Great place to visit, especially with kids. Took about an hour to leisurely stroll through it. Everyone was very nice. The place was well kept. Good value for the entry fee.

This museum has a nice collection of log buildings. They have people in historic dress to provide interpretation and answer questions - at the blacksmith shop, for instance, there wasn't anyone working the forge, but the person gave a nice overview of the blacksmith role and helped to explain how industrialization impacted the role. There is an emphasis on engagement, particularly for young kids - we appreciated the backpack with materials for kids to connect with the different cabins. A nice experience and educational!

I was pleasantly surprised! What an amazing little slice of Texas History! Would have been nicer to experience it without covid precautions, but still lovely. Highly recommend. Staff is wonderful and the entire place is beautifully put together ❤

A brilliant experience. A few more tips below. We were there with enough time for a whole day. There are various huts on the site. There is usually someone in each one to explain something (only the mill was unmanned for us). On site, everyone tells about 5-10min. Briefly something. Questions can then be asked. Because none of this was new to me, due to my interest in history. I asked very in-depth questions or specific objects that I didn't know. Most of them were very happy to talk about it and went into great detail. And showed their enthusiasm for the topic and their knowledge. Only one person really showed that I wasn't interested, which was a shame... I would have liked to ask questions. And one person had little idea (perhaps just starting out). But the last person was otherwise very open-minded and explained other things. It was a shame that this person couldn't go into more detail about some things. But it was a great experience. And at this price really something great! It's not overpriced!!! Tips: - Bring some water with you - About 2-2,5 h time. (That's enough to walk through once, talk to everyone and possibly look at something a second time afterwards). - It is not a purely passive experience. - Best in the morning in summer

Great experience that I enjoyed it was inspiring to see the enslaved people who built most of the cabins honored. The wood working was emotional for some reason lol. I would love to work to bring this to Dallas where the Sharock cabin is.

Great place to learn about settler history. One house you can try candle making and another house is fully hands on so everyone can use items and kind of immerse themselves in what it was like to live in the 1800s. Probably the only time you'll see kids excited to do chores.

Incredible! Sooo fun, and there's someone at each cabin to tell you things about the cabins, and to demonstrate with some of the old equipment, everything was amazing, and so detailed, i would have given five stars, but in the first cabin, one of the workers there was talking for over TWENTY MINUTES about the history of the cabin, and he was being incredibly racist... Luckily, this was the only unenjoyable part of my trip here! Highly recommend!!

One of the "hidden treasures" of the Ft Worth museum/historical options. It has always been a great place to learn through interaction, touch and tours. Lots of great events throughout the year as well. I loved it as a kid, my kids love it now. Great place to spend some time learning along with being outdoors. Low fees and gift shop has some fun items for the kids. Always recommend to those coming to town with younger kids or those that enjoy history.

This was a last minute surprise for my family. I am glad that we decided to go. This was a trip into the past of the first settlers in the Dallas area. The people that work there are all dressed in the clothing for that time period, and are very knowledgeable about what life was like. They also like to get the children involved in the experience by telling them about what they might be responsible for if they lived during that time.

Very informative and educational, great learning and engaging experience for my daughter and us parents. I didn't think my daughter would care for this place but she had all sorts of questions and was very interested. This was all due to the very engaging, smart and enthusiastic staff. Great job Log Cabin Village.

My class had a great time learning about Log Cabin life. From blacksmithing to candle dipping to school days, it was an interesting tour! The guides were all engaging and knowledgeable. When you buy your ticket, you can choose the candle add-on to participate in candle dipping. If you’ve not done it before, you should! Also, there’s a gift shop full of soaps, wooden toys, local coffee, etc, inside the cabin where you buy your tickets. Fun experience !

Such a wonderful experience for our kids and adults. How amazing is it to learn about this part of our country before our modern technology and amenities changed everything. I want to plan a family excursion to a remote log cabin to experience that as well. Thank you for your inspiration everyone at Log Cabin Village! So much education and fun in one place

This brought back memories of stories our grandparents used to tell. Scavenger hunt sheet for kids. Knowledgeable staff in each cabin made for a great day. We took our time and visited with each cabin staff person since there wasn't a crowd. Tour lasted 2 hours. Admission only $7 for Adults. Worth every cent!!

Okay, I have to confess I love this place! My mom used to take me there when I was a child. Still fun to go through and see the old cabins and how people lived a long time ago. Definitely worth the time.

Magical! The staff is educated & wonderful to talk to. We loved our visit. Very affordable for all they offer, we'll be back. I also really appreciate the placards that had info about each cabin and the true history of who actually built the cabins (slaves). Thank you for not white washing history

Very nice and relaxing park that offers a lot of history for a very low fee. Located just across the street from the Fort Worth Zoo, it is worth your time. The staff at the gift shop as well as other employees were very helpful. I highly recommend this beautiful place
