I should point out that the restaurant next to it is how you will enter the museum, and there you can get a drink before seeing the museum after checking out the area nearby (plan on coming here if you drive into Ft Worth for any reason, as most places will be right along side this location.) It's a very intriguing glimpse into a time in retail that seems to forget that Walmart wasn't the first "one stop shopping center." I highly recommend looking through the photos and newspapers (advertisements and news articles about the company) and realize that no matter how successful a company is, it's days will eventually come to an end, even when they had a business model that wasn't too different from more modern companies (admittedly the subway transport system confuses me still. . . and I wasn't able to get a good idea of how that worked, but I suspect it might have compromised their business with people relying more and more on private transportation instead of public transit, with people increasingly moving to suburban areas.) Also, Ft Worth has been greatly effected with business moving more towards Dallas after the cattle industry relied less upon trains and more on trucks.

Free and very cool but quick musuem. They have a lot of photographs from the store, so that is interesting. And the train set. I guess this is more of a hamburger joint with a musuem! I just ordered kne.

This may be a small place but there’s a lot to see. It’s very interesting if you like history. There’s a restaurant connected to it with nice friendly people

Little free museum covering Leonard's Brothers stores in downtown Ft Worth. If you have lived in Ft Worth and consider it home, you need to stop by this place and take in some of Ft Worths most notable history. I had no idea the extent of the stores, the subway, the community events they were responsible for. Spend 30 minutes looking through the newspaper headlines, displays and cool items from the original stores. I highly recommend this for anyone living in Ft Worth or visiting. Oh, and grab a bite to eat at the M&O grill next door. You will have to come to the museum to find out why it's called M&O grill :)

Suuuuuuper cute place! I had no idea Leonard's ever existed, but the museum was set up with a timeline full of interesting facts and memorabilia. We did go on a Sunday and contrary to Google, the museum closes at 3pm. However, the workers at the adjoining burger joint were very nice and told us to check out the museum and take our time. (But they also closed at 3 so we tried to be done before they finished up cleaning.) Overall, it was a cool little find and we will be back to support M&O Station Grill for burgers!

We loved this museum! The memorabilia are carefully curated and unique to Leonard's. Lauren, the granddaughter of Obie Leonard, was friendly and knowledgeable. She started the train for our kids and even sat down to play a cup game with them with the free cups we received! Their logo t-shirt was cute and affordable. We'd love to visit again!

My wife came to Leonard's with her grandmother when she was young! This was a great treat before they moved all the stuff.

Oh my gosh, I had no idea of this little spot. My son had a Dr appointment downtown Ft. Worth and we normally don't go down there so I took advantage of the time. I started to look up free things to do with kids and this came up. I thought it would be different and it was! It was interesting to see how they grew their business and the impact they made in the community. It's a little museum but it's still ran by the family so that's really awesome. When we went on Tuesday 1-24-23 the women was super sweet and knew about her family history. Great place to stop and checkout, oh and they are right next door to a burger shop.

I love going to the museum. It had so much history in it. It tells all about the old Leonard store and the subway.

A great little free museum about a local landmark. The person working here was friendly and informative. The place is only a single room, but there is plenty of information to learn about Leonard's. This is a great way to get some insight into Ft. Worths history.

Pretty neat place! Went with my fiance. It's crazy to think there was this massive hugely successful store in town a few decades ago and I've never heard of it. The lady working the museum was nice and worked the big train set they have for us. We even got a couple free Leonards cups. I'd recommend popping in if you have the time. It's small, free, and only takes about 30 minutes

At first glance you are hesitant to enter but once inside, WOW. The young lady there is so full of knowledge in once was a major store the Ft Worth area. And if you are hungry there is an adjoining restaurant with what I hear has the best burgers!

Free museum tour! Leonard’s Department Store was an important part of history for those who live near Fort Worth. These brothers had their own brand and made life so much better for the locals, as their prices couldn’t be beat nearly anywhere in Texas. I knew nothing of this place before looking for something local to do to fill a gap in our vacation day. It’s a one room museum, but it’s a decent size and can fill at least an hour, more if you aren’t traveling with impatient children. There’s a cafe attached, M&O Cafe, but it has a separate owner and they can’t advertise on their FB page or website. We didn’t eat there because they were filming a commercial and the people filming it made us uncomfortable so we left. So, for that reason, I can’t review that place separately.

If you grew up in fort Worth and rode the m&o subway you need to visit this museum! Great memories. The brothers that started this store treated their employees fairly and made major strides against racism.

Its great to sit down look at pictures of past Ft. Worth, how Leonard brothers played a big part in Ft Worth's history. They have a burger restaurant there that is great, I had a Chili Cheese burger, and it was great. I was impressed. Will definitely go again for the food.

Museum is free and is awesome! Great for 9+ and is a great resource to teach marketing, customer service, and inflation. Great visuals and information by the museum host.
