West Side Cafe is ABSOLUTELY my family’s go- to breakfast spot and Diner! We visit monthly and no matter what new breakfast places open in town, we always compare their food to West Side’s and we always end up right back where we started! When the parking lot is full and the line is out the door, you know you’ve stumbled upon something special. The hole in the wall building, the tired 80’s decor and the long wait times are vastly offset by their incredible food, service and patriotism! From the moment you pull into the parking lot, their appreciation for the brave men and women who defend our country is proudly displayed by the American flag hung just outside the entry. Inside, you’ll see a continuation of that support hanging on every square inch of their walls. Proudly framed and displayed are hundreds of pictures of service men and women - mostly veterans. That alone earns them 5 stars from me as a granddaughter to a man who served and the wife of a man who also served! The food is always 💯! I prefer my fried eggs over medium and they get it right Every. Single. Time! Old school greasy fried Hash Browns? Check! Sourdough Toast and old fashioned Grits? Check! The hubs loves their gigantic omelet and their Steak breakfast platter. The lunch and dinner offerings are equally fantastic with wonderful options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. We always struggle when we go around lunchtime to choose breakfast or lunch! The service is always awesome and the restaurant is filled with employees who are happy to serve you. They offer curbside pickup and also homemade deserts to go. We can not recommend this place highly enough and we will be fans and customers for life!

West Side Cafe is always so good. I'd only had breakfast there before. Breakfast there is pretty great. The menu has so much great home cooking type food. They have meatloaf, pork chops and chicken fried steak and more.They even have chicken and dumplings. That was very tempting, but I just had to have some chicken fried steak. It came with two sides. I chose green beans and fried okra. Everything was perfect. The wait staff was very attentive and super-friendly.

Heard about this place before and wish I had come here sooner. The food was good, the service was amazingly excellent. We came here for a late lunch and it was packed! Will definitely get back to try their dessert, chicken fried steak, liver and meatloaf as recommended. Texas, 11/2023

Can you say A1 service and food! I wish there were more stars that I can rate them at. When we came in we were immediately greeted. They sat us down and was very nice. The food came so fast and it was hot and looked and smelled good. The entire staff was so friendly. We also noticed how quickly they they clean tables when someone is leaving. Jordyn was our server and went above and beyond with excellent service. I gave hefty tip! You must try this place if you’re ever close to Fort Worth. You will not be disappointed.

Food was great, coffee was too! Met Sue and she mentioned fresh buttermilk pie...we took one to go! Will definitely be back here.

First let me talk about “Kameron”! He is absolutely the BEST server, I have had in a long time! His personality is so bubbly, and welcoming, yet warm and charming. Now to the food. The menu consist of a country style type of meals, -Southern Comfort Food, and I’m pleased to say, it still tastes good and pleasing to the tummy, even after Covid. I HIGHLY recommend eating here❗️ The only con I have, is that the restaurant does need remolding. It’s an older building, and it’s definitely time.

Best home cooking country style food in town! Hands Down! I've never given a 5 🌟 review all the way down the chart BUT the restaurant and the staff truly deserve it. Chicken Fried steak is to die for❤️ & the flavor of the mozzarella sticks is amazing. I recommend if you have not tried this place, get out here to Camp Bowie W in Fort Worth and give them a try. Worth every $ spent. Don't leave without trying the delicious desserts. There are plenty of different pies to try from. Sorry about the picture. We were too busy indulging in the taste that I forgot to post before eating.😋

Great Service and great food always for years since I was a kid

I love little hole-in-the-wall places... and the West Side Cafe did not disappoint! We had to wait 15-20 minutes, because it was Saturday and everyone was there! Got seated and served fast. They got my food cooked to my exact request and the people are very friendly! Definitely my new favorite breakfast place!

Great food and even better service! Great breakfast. We are traveling for work, stopped there for breakfast. It was so refreshing to be greeted with a smiling face and it kept going. Every employee we saw was happy and smiling. Made you feel so welcome. Food was fresh, hot and tasted wonderful. All 4 of us were very pleased with food and the service. Thank you for great customer service!

The homeless outside the main entrance to the location might be a turnoff to some customers. I realize that folks have a right to gather, but a kind word would be helpful. Once inside, the cafe is like the ones from the 60s. It's not fancy but practical. The staff are pleasant and accommodating with special requests. The food menu included a senior portion selection of the restaurants main menu. Less money for smaller portions. It was true to its design and offered some excellent grub. The senior portion was still plenty of food, even for someone with a larger appetite. Good home style vegetables. Our son used to say his mom and I always found the best hole in the wall eateries. Well, Son, you can't go wrong here.

This place came highly recommended and it was packed. I will say this is some of the best breakfast food I’ve had. Everything tasted fresh and was full of flavor. Highly recommend the country fried steak, and their hash browns. The staff was so polite and kind. I honestly can’t believe I hadn’t heard of this place sooner and tried it sooner than I did.

I am speechless! From the time we entered the atmosphere was screaming this is the place to be. It was 32• outside and inside was warm as the comfort of your home. The greeter was AWESOME . The server was absolutely AMAZING. The person who cleared the table was not only attentive, as soon as we were finished with a plate it was cleared from the table expeditiously,he was FANTASTIC. Now the food is in a class all by itself….. the food was IMMACULATE. My palate was satisfied beyond measure. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly it felt as if we went to breakfast at grandma’s house. Thank you.

This place was amazing. First thing you see when you walk in are pictures of men and women who have served our country in various wars. The food was excellent and the service was amazing. Very friendly workers here. The restaurant is spacious. Bigger than I thought on the inside. This by far was a very good find in Fort Worth. A definite must go to for great food and atmosphere... I will definitely be coming back

This is what Southern hospitality is all about!!! We put our name on the list for a party of 4 with an expected wait of 15 minutes, we were seated in less than 10 minutes! It was super busy for a Saturday morning, but this place runs super smooth and they know what they are doing! The food was excellent and the customer service was outstanding, I'm not just talking about our waitress, everyone who works there is super friendly and helpful! Thank you for a great start to our day!!!

We are pretty new to the area and looked up a place that was said to be good for breakfast. West Side Cafe came up and we decided to give it a try. In a word - Excellent!!! The food is terrific. The service is great. The atmosphere is beyond comfortable. This is a standard country diner, and it makes you feel welcome and satisfied from the moment you enter. The breakfast choices we delicious-from biscuits and gravy, to pancakes, and great piping hot coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience, and are already making plans to see how their dinner selections delight the tummy. We highly recommend West Side Cafe on Camp Bowie Blvd. it’s wonderful.

This was our first visit, but if your looking for an authentic, local, longtime community diner , this is the place. Wonderful people, many of them have worked there for years, great food, great service. If your here for breakfast they have the very best FRESH hot cinnamon rolls anywhere. There is a gentleman that goes around letting everyone know “fresh cinnamon rolls on the line” We will definitely be back next time we are in town. Thank y’all for a wonderful experience!

Today was my first time to eat here. Unfortunately, the food was a 3 star but the staff got a 5 star. I was totally impressed with their greeting and professionalism. Normally I wouldn’t give a restaurant a 3 star rating and then plan on going back. However because of how well oiled their machine appeared to be, a second chance is always deserving. Hopefully the food will be a notch better this next go around.

Great food, great service. Food was brought quickly. Very tender roast, great potatoes, and broccoli with cheese. The fried catfish wasn’t my favorite, very thin and weird consistency, but overall I enjoyed it. I will be back to try a few more items.

I love this place! Everything I have ever ordered here was excellent. This time....fried catfish, fries, green beans, broccoli w/cheese, squash casserole, hush puppies, tartar sauce, iced tea. Only a couple of stray fries remained. The waitresses here are some of the best. They know that attentiveness and hustling is what it takes to provide the best service. I come here hungry, I always leave with a full belly and satisfaction that I got my money's worth. The only bad thing about West Side Cafe is..... it should be closer to my house!!

One of our most enjoyable breakfast experiences yet. We went in a busy Sunday morning and it took less than 10 minutes to get a seat. Emmie was our server. She was amazing! We were never without coffee and she was so nice and attentive! We even got to meet Mama Sue! So nice! Oh, and the food was some of the best we have had in the Fort Worth area! They have this place running like a well oiled machine and it was very clean! Thank you for making our Sunday morning date such a pleasurable experience! We will definitely be back!

I have never been disappointed coming here, the food is always astounding. The service makes you feel like you're at your Nan's house. They allow open carry here so you don't need to hide your firearms, feel free to carry inside. I love their desserts as well. The atmosphere makes you feel welcome in all of Texas, I was very happy my girlfriend showed me this diner. Have been a dozen times or more, and never had a bad experience.

This is the type of dinner you see in the movies. You walk in and someone is ready to greet you and take your place in line. They’re very busy but extremely organized. We were seated quickly and immediately received our drink order. I love how the waitresses help one another to refill all of the guest drinks. You never feel uncomfortable asking any waitress for anything because their all eager to help. The owner came by and checked in on our experience and food as well. Food came quickly and everything was delicious.

We have been coming to West End since we moved here. It has a homestyle feel that we miss so much coming from our hometown. The service is fantastic, the food is good, the atmosphere is awesome, and you’re treated like family when you come in. I haven’t written a google review until now because I saw something that surprised me in the best of ways. A family came in that didn’t speak English what so ever. They moved around their entire seating chart to accommodate them and have a Spanish speaking server take care of them. The family was so thankful and they were made to feel welcome. To me, this is above and beyond. This deserves a 5 star review.

Nothing super fancy as far as breakfast goes. But if you're looking for a good simple breakfast the quality is awesome. Service was quick and excellent. Very reasonable prices. The grits were not watery like a lot of places tend to be and the coffee was good. French toast was also so good I didn't put syrup on it

They are absolutely southern food and hospitality. I go for the chicken and dumplings and the green beans. Folks they are awesome. Fair priced. Good tea! You know us southerners like our tea. Beautiful amber color not weak .. Texas proud... Go check it out!
