Wonderful museum! What an amazing tribute to the legend John Wayne. My husband is a huge John Wayne fan and we recently visited the museum. It was so well done. Perfect size and very informative. Highly recommend it!

Well, well, well. I mistakenly assumed this was some kitsch local thing to rake in tourist cash..it turns out that John Wayne's family owns this amazing little museum. It's WELL WORTH a visit if you happen to be in Fort Worth. It was the best part of the stocks yards visit. Learn about the amazing life and legacy of a genuine American legend here. They offer a military discount for entry, but not in the merchandise.

Great experience! As John Wayne fans, we enjoyed all the detail that was put into this exhibit. It is rich in history and well laid out. We purchased some John Wayne gear that we have not seen anywhere else. We were able to sit inside with my service dog and take a few minute break before moving on, and we appreciated that.

I did not go to the theater but I went to the lobby museum. Is a very appropriate museum for the stockyards. Items were pretty pricey but if you're a fan, I get it. You can expect to see large pictures of the Duke and they had a stuffed exhibit of Trigger and Bullet. If I had more time I might have been able to watch the presentation.

The museum itself is okay in terms of information provided. They give you a sense of ways in which John Wayne became famous and how his work ethic inspired other. But for a $22 self-guided tour, there needs to be more content. One poster says after The Green Berets released, it receives as much gratitudes as protests; it will be better to provide some examples rather than just giving descriptive messages.

Excellent exhibit!!! My husband and I enjoyed the incredible journey this exhibit took us through of John Wayne's life. There were amazing things to see at every turn, everything from childhood photos, scripts, letters, telegrams, awards, clothing, and even one of his modified station wagons. There was so much to take in, I could go back and see things I missed the first time. Be sure to allow enough time to enjoy everything available, the entire exhibit in itself is a work of art.

We hit up this place before leaving for the airport, and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I was expecting a run of the mill tourist trap type of experience, I was wrong. Walking through, it tells a great story, and it has a lot of real artifacts to go along with the story. It's definitely an enjoyable time if you're ever at the Stockyards.

If you are any type of John Wayne fan, you must visit this place!! I grew up going to Old Tucson Studios and watching westerns AND my hubby a huge Duke fan so we loved this experience! The family did a fantastic job at putting all the memorabilia together. You can spend hours looking at all the different sections of the exhibit. Must go to see and enjoy!

Wonderful photography (when you walk in, look to the right on the wall to see some of the most amazing photos), memorabilia, and costumes from his movies. And correspondence from other movie stars. One of the coolest facts was that John Wayne's sons made this museum possible!

If you're a John Wayne fan this place is for you! Lots of exhibits and displays that are very interesting. We really enjoyed walking through, and the gift shop had some really great offerings - though some items are quite pricey. Not a very kid friendly place - there really isn't anything geared toward kiddos, so if you are traveling with younger kids you may want to keep that in mind. FYI - There are no bathrooms on site, so plan ahead!

This was a great experience to see the history of this Great man who touched so many lives and still does so to this day! Especially for me as John Wayne and my father Ray, were cousins. I Still have his, "John's mother's" 1902 Thomas Edison upright Victoria and 78 records that were passed down to me many years ago. Oh, the Memories...

I learned so much about the Duke and as a result, appreciate him so much more than before. Being reminded of his wit and wisdom, love of country and defense of noble ideals was refreshing. I appreciate John Wayne's family for sharing so much with us through this experience.

This exhibit was well worth the entrance fee. It has iconic costumes, memorabilia, moving letters. I always wanted to meet him. When he died in 1979, I was 14 and so sad. Seeing letters and telegrams and his personal items helped me understand I was not the only one who thought he was a true man. Knowing the John Wayne Cancer Foundation funded the Round Up River Ranch which my 11 year old attended when he had cancer made it even more significant. This was very moving and I would go back. Thank you Duke for being you and an American who loved his country and his fellow man! Being near that persona was wonderful.

A fantastic tribute to the Legend, John Wayne. As well done as any Presidential Library. So much history, letters, costumes, photos, videos. The staff are great too, they seem to genuinely love talking about John Wayne and his family. Highly Recommended.

The second of the John Wayne museums on this two week road trip. The first being his birthplace museum in Winterset Iowa. This museum is conveniently located in the Fort worth stock yard (a tourist meca) we spent more time at this museums than it's Iowa counterpart and although it had fewer physical displays it had an abundance of pictures, story's and videos. The gift shop is small and expensive with several high end John Wayne collections such as clothing and luggage (although I had my eye on the $399 John Wayne canvas overnight bag.

Amazing! Great exhibit! Enjoyed learning more about the legend John Wayne. All of us need to go back to our roots and the principles on which America was originally founded. Bonus, Trigger and Bullet are in the gift shop area! They should have more about Roy Rogers too! Another great American hero and role model.

If you are even remotely close to the Historic Fort Worth Texas stockyards, you need to make this a destination, I strongly urge you to take sometime and visit this destination, you will be in for an experience you wont soon or ever forget, over 400 personal owned items from Dukes life and his career in motion pictures, are on display as well as our pal Trigger, Yes that is right Trigger is now stationed at the Fort Worth stock yards as a tribute to Roy Rogers along with the Duke.

So cool! I highly recommend going if you’re in the area or love John Wayne as much as my family does! So fun!

There is much interesting memorabilia that is not available anywhere else about the iconic actor, husband, and father. I was surprised to learn that Joseph Stalin had ordered John Wayne be assassinated, and Nikita Khrushchev demanded to meet John Wayne as a condition of his itinerary in September1959. His family manages the Experience, keeping it true to their iconic father. A Must-See.

Heads up about parking: it will cost. And two, no restrooms! Which can make bringing children difficult. So, there is no free parking close by this museum. Unless you park WAY out and walk far away. We ended up paying $10 because today, 3/18/23, was a special event. I think it’s normally $5 though. It was packed! There was a Patrick’s Day parade and different various events. But we kept trudging along to find a place to park because I wanted to get to the Duke Spirits tasting and book signing with Marissa Wayne event today only! We got to sample #GoldHandleCoffee mixed with #DukeSpirits which was strong but delicious. We even got to keep the special tin cup as a souvenir, very generous! Today the store was also having a sale on goods in front of the museum. Inside the exhibit, there are a lot of letters from friends of John Wayne. It interesting just how many people had such delightful things to say to the Duke. I loved seeing outfits from his movies on display and facts about his life/career. Most everything is reading, no interactive displays so, again, bringing children would be difficult as they will get restless pretty quickly. I do recommend visiting if you’re a John Wayne fan, very nostalgic! The pricing is a bit high though, this could be a good date for couples if you both enjoy John Wayne.

Great exhibit with a lot of history and items from his life. Mostly letters from John Wayne and other stars writing to him. Great collection of movie props and outfits. Worth a visit for any fan of The Duke!

Definitely a wonderful experience! To learn about an American icon who left such a huge impact on our culture is absolutely great. Not only does John Wayne have movie impact, but also political. Also, his character is one to follow as an example. As for the museum, it's filled with murals of movie scenes, real correspondence between actors, actresses and fans. His on-set costumes are definitely cool to see, but the focal point are the hats and his famous quotations. The gift shop has a wide range of products, and there is even a Duke branded bourbon/whiskey. Definitely recommended for John Wayne fans or for those visiting the Stockyards!

Great display of John Wayne stuff. Everything from Oscars to cars. The museum is very well done. As you walk through it displays his life from childhood through his acting days and to his older age. Highly recommend a visit. The price was a little high but if you love John Wayne you get your money's worth.
