The Best Hotel for any handicapped or disabled person. The automatic door for exiting and the auto opening for entering are standout features. Shower access and grab bars were well thought out. Plenty of ramps for access to both buildings. The pool access is the best, with a lift to the pool deck and lift chairs for the pool and spa. The property is so well maintained, even the wood trim through out the property looked new. We so enjoyed the dinner in the restaurant, the menu had nice options and the prices were not what we expected to pay (we thought the prices were very good), the $2 coffee to go in the morning a, winner. We highly recommend this property for any one. By the way, we were married in the "Living Room", going on 32 years ago, and had our reception there! What a joy to see the property so welcoming and well maintained. The staff were well trained in customer service, not just with us, I watched how they interacted with other guests. Again I cannot stress enough how well the property was appointed for any disabled or handicapped person. We will return Rae Crogan

Carpet smelled, and the room was not as clean as it should have been. As I was in the middle of showering, the smoke detector went off. My 10-year-old kid woke up in a panic, and I freaked out. Shampoo in my hair, after shouting to my daughter not to panic, I yelled to her instructions to dial the front desk and ask what was happening. She tried, but my instructions didn't work. So I rushed out of the shower without even rinsing, ran to the phone only to find that it wasn't working. I grabbed my cell phone and dialed the hotel's number. When the operator answered, I complained that the smoke detector had been triggered and had not stopped and that when attempting to call from the room's phone, the phone would not work. A weak apology about the phone not working preceded the question, "were you taking a shower when the smoke detector went off?"I said yes and that I was not done showering. As if nothing happened, the operator said it was the steam's fault and that she'd sent maintenance to adjust it. Was I mad? No. I was furious!!! Sending maintenance to adjust it AFTER the matter? After my daughter was abruptly woken by the most unnerving high-pitched alarm sound? After having failed to enable the guest to connect with the front desk? After forcing me out of the bathroom while I was still soaking wet and with product in my hair, are you joking? If your staff knows that steam setting off the smoke detector is an issue, the decent thing to do is to give guests a heads up so that they are able to make an informed decision. o. whether or not they want to stay. As far as I see it this hotel has deliberately reached out into my pockets to rob me of the fee they charged $200+ , for a one night stay and a forced early checkout due to the unpleasant awaking in the morning. Needless to say, I would never be back, and I will discourage anyone from staying here.

This hotel offers a cozy and beautiful environment. The staff is exceptionally nice, polite, and courteous. The front desk team is always ready to greet and assist with any questions. I enjoyed a satisfying breakfast, and the room was warm and comfortable. Access to numerous electrical outlets allowed me to charge my mobile and laptop conveniently. Overall, my experience at this hotel was wonderful. Additionally, its proximity to the mall, markets, and grocery stores, all within a 10-minute reach, made it very convenient.

Bed and pillows could be more comfortable and sheets fit better.. The rooms need to be freshened: paint, colors, fabrics and some maintenance done. the room are very dark. It is also a hotel in which it is very easy to get lost. The outdoor patio is lovely and the restaurant is comfortable.

We stay at this hotel on a regular basis because it has a non-corporate feeling. The staff is so helpful. For example they noted and gave us our favorite room. The maids accommodated our schedule happily. The restaurant has a delicious and broadly appealing menu and the servers greeted us warmly as return customers. The spacious dining courtyard with the fountain and flowers is a delight, far superior to the noisy, hard surface restaurants. The shuttle to the airport was fast and hassle free. Good Job!

The hotel was very clean and in great condition. The pool and hot tub and surrounding area were clean and beautiful. Staff at the restaurant were very friendly, the food was good, and the setting was beautiful. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly, and the cookies and muffins were delicious.

Very nice hotel. Rooms only get 3 stars because they have feather pillows that go flat and become rocks. Very uncomfortable! I do not understand who/why hotels think these are comfy pillows...I just don't understand. The food, tho, is absolutely amazing!! They have a great happy hour and full menu. I had the grilled salmon with roasted potatoes and veggies.... fabulously delicious!

A pretty nice hotel. A little on the older side but very well kept and modernized with amenities. Staff is really friendly. Restaurant is about average, a little slow on the service for dinner but great for breakfast. Very convenient location for getting around orange county or going up to Los Angeles.

Overall, I enjoyed staying very much. Minor gripe: need better facilities for tea/coffee in one's room. Instant powdered milk, for example, is not nice. Some of the food served was a little greasy. But perhaps some like it like that. Limited selection. People at the desk were very polite and helpful. Guys in the restaurant perhaps less so. Van service was not available one time when I needed it. But overall, it was very nice.

This hotel is great to stay at if you’re going to a concert at the OC fairgrounds. It’s also very close to the airport which means you can hear noisy air traffic. This is an odd hotel and it’s a bit dated. Our room was dark with stripped down amenities and lots of brocade with a Baroque kind of feel. It did not look like the photos online. Front desk activity was crazy at check-in, and I was nonexistent early/late evening. We were not told that the main pool was closed even after we asked if there was any construction or major issues with the property. The hotel was sold out for the time we were to be there. We checked out the day after we checked in and went to another place. To each their own! BTW: pay close attention to the prices when booking with a hotel on third-party sites. We paid a lot more than we should have and it was extremely difficult to change our reservation. We were on the phone for hours.

We have stayed here twice and just booked our 3rd stay as we love this property! The hotel is clean, rooms are spacious, staff is friendly and helpful and the grounds are very well done. I just booked 34 rooms for our soccer team here because of our experience ;) The only thing that could have made our experience even better was having a better fridge in our suite. We had a 1 bedroom King suite and I have to bring food for our family because of dietary restrictions. The first fridge we had didn't have an ice portion (the little box was missing) so the staff swapped it out promptly for a new one. However, that fridge (a) had a very small freezer portion (smaller than most hotels) and (b) didn't work very well. I had to keep resetting it and it never really got as cold as a fridge should be. I had to throw out a lot of food because I didn't have any way of keeping it frozen/cold for our Mon-Fri stay but I know that's a big ask of a hotel room fridge. Just throwing it out there in case another family is in a similar situation! That is the only suggestion I have to make your property even better and it is a minor one. We love Ayers and will definitely be back! If you go, request a room overlooking the courtyard ;)

The hotel is only a 2 minute drive from the car rental companies and extremely convenient when using the airport. The courtyards and indoor spaces are so well designed and sound proofed that the airport proximity is not apparent during your stay. My family truly enjoyed our stay which was a lovely location for visiting the beautiful surrounding area.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, great location. This hotel is very convenient to John Wayne airport and is a quality hotel. There is a nice restaurant inquire with a beautiful courtyard area to eat in. There is also a fantastic sushi place next door and a Thai place I heard was good as well. The fitness center was clean and well stocked. The hotel itself is beautiful and homey. There’s a fireplace in the store lobby and some impressive model ships to look at in each lobby. I would come here again.

We appreciated the attentive and kind customer service from the staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed a refreshing swim in the pool. We had a wonderful breakfast in the hotel's restaurant. Please note this hotel in the flight path of the nearby John Wayne Airport so you will hear plane engine noise but thankfully planes stop flying after 10 pm.

The suite rooms are spacious, pleasant and fair-priced. The restaurant serves nice quality food. Morning coffee service in the main lobby is appreciated. Tesla charge stations are good, when functional and when available. A convenient and comfortable place to stay. You'll enjoy it!

My colleagues and I recently attended a conference at UCI and were thoroughly impressed with our stay at this facility. The cleanliness of the rooms exceeded our expectations, and the housekeeping service was exceptional, even providing daily service which was a delightful surprise. The staff at the front desk were incredibly helpful, and the convenience of the shuttle service was a real money-saver for us, sparing us the need to rely on expensive Ubers. Additionally, having an on-site restaurant was incredibly convenient. The restaurant offered a diverse menu, and the best part was that they allowed us to order takeout without any extra charges. Room service was also available for added convenience. I would, without a doubt, stay here again if I was in the Orange County area.

I had a great experience for my first stay. Everyone was friendly. Check in was easy. I loved the free parking. The hotel had begun renovations but had taken steps to ensure guests were not inconvenienced. My room was clean and very comfortable. I will be staying there again when visiting with family.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this hotel. It was beautiful inside and the rooms were comfortable and clean. Front desk staff had outstanding customer service which is something very important to me since I also work in customer service. Conveniently located as well. Planning to come back again.

Charming hotel with model ships scattered throughout the hotel. You can do a self guided tour with the pamphlet they provide. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Marcy helped with checkin and was very professional. The shuttle drivers are friendly and cheery. Enjoyed the two courtyards. One for dining and the other for swimming pool. Spacious fitness facility.

This is the 2nd time my company has held a small conference at this hotel and can't imagine not going back for our next. They have several meeting rooms, a full and wonderful banquet / meeting menu and can accommodate all the accompanying needs one would have for a conference, such as projectors, sound systems, etc. We had meals served both as a plated dinner and served buffet style. Most meals were taken outside which was beautifully set for us. The food is excellent. The banquet staff very professional and pleasant. Several of our attendees mentioned this. The guest rooms were all found to be extremely clean, and the grounds are well kept and serene. The only downside I can think of is a little bit of noise from airplanes overhead but it did not bother us at all. The property has a bit of an old-style European flair to it and it might not appeal to everyone. The food and service more than make up for these.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was very clean, large enough to not feel crowded, room service was quick, the restaurant was very good - especially the spring rolls on the afternoon menu. Miguel at the bar was our server most nights and he was excellent at taking care of us, he was attentive and made sure our food came out correctly. We will be back again, and hopefully for the same room overlooking the patio.

This is our go-to hotel in Newport Beach. The rooms are very clean and very well maintained. The staff is always friendly and professional. No wonder the airlines have their crews stay here too. Plenty of parking too.

This place is great. Very close to freeways, and to nearby areas to visit, like the Anti mall, South Coast Plaza,Newport Beach Plenty of nearby food places, fast food, sit down restaurants, plus there's a great restaurant inside. The rooms are decent sized. There's a huge TV in the bedroom, and livingroom, little bar with sink, microwave, mini fridge. Bathroom has an actual tub, many places just have a tiled shower. The gym is decent sized, not crowded, there are a couple pools,Jacuzzis. I love the decor, lots of great paintings, models of boats. The restaurant has great food,indoor/outdoor dining and a bar. Staff are great, attentive. Parking was not a hassle, plenty of places. It is located near the airport,so occasionally you hear planes flying overhead. If your room is near the pool,it closes at 10pm, so you aren't hearing noise all night long.

This hotel is in close proximity to the airport and they offer shuttle service to and from the airport. If you call the hotel for pickup they are very prompt on sending a shuttle over. The driver, Israel, was very professional and friendly. Upon arriving to the hotel, the front desk agent was also extremely quick, friendly and professional. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard where you can enjoy a delicious meal from the onsite restaurant. I can not say enough about this hotel-great location, great customer service, beautiful courtyard, delicious food and a clean and comfortable room. 100 percent will stay here again.

Overall, great value for money. Very clean. The hotel is going through renovations, so I hope to see upgrades. Replacing carpets with wood floors would be nice. The mattress sagged a bit bit, otherwise comfy. Helpful staff.

Outstanding Hotel with top-notch, caring managers and personnel. Thanks especially to Ms. Dawn Grandi for ensuring everything was so well organized for our daughter's wedding party. Our family as well as our guests were highly impressed with this beautiful hotel, the restaurant and amenities. Le Chateau Garden Bistro had it all. No need to go out to other restaurants nearby. Our buffet dinner in the "Living Room" was also so well organized, fresh and delicious that nearly all our guests offered sincere compliments. Rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. The folks at the Front Desk were highly patient, kind, and helpful. Congratulations to these true professionals. Your motto is right on: *We Care About People* *We Value Teamwork* * We Deliver Results* Check, Check, Check!!!

When a hotel is doing major remodeling, it would be considerate to either book people in rooms that do not take them thru plastic covered hallway carpeting and dry-walled elevators, or inform them that there is 'dust to be pardoned'. It would also be nice to consider offering a discounted rate or credit towards room service. Room Service items arriving jumbled and packed in plastic plastic clam shells in plastic bags is a first (and I hope last) experience. Apart from that, the property and staff are very nice and I hope to see it another time when the dust does settle.

Lovely, helpful staff. We had a large room on the 3rd floor with a comfy bed. We appreciated the extra sink outside the main shower/bathroom. My only complaint is that the décor feels dated, dark, and boring despite a recent renovation. I think this hotel would be a great choice for a business traveler, but it lacks the charm I would prefer for a couple's getaway.

Very nicely furnished, very quiet. Unlike many hotels that have gone downhill considerably during the pandemic, this one has stayed classy and safe. The staff was very friendly and not in the robotic cookie-cutter hotel way, but genuinely friendly like they enjoyed what they were doing.

I have stayed here multiple times over the last year. Each time it seems to be less appealing. My room was old and needs updating. The phone didn't work properly and the bed was not comfortable. The sheets were "short" and the fitted sheet kept coming off. The pillows were not comfortable either. The fan in the bathroom must stay on at all times, or the steam never leaves the bathroom. There were ants on my night stand 3 days in a row. Made me nervous about the potential for other bugs (none seen besides the ants). The restaurant has great food and drinks. However, upon checking out I discovered that while eating with friends one evening, the server put ALL of their meals on my room charge, not each one separate. So, now I have to try and fix that. Overall, I think they could do better for the price they charge.

The hotel is very close to John Wayne Airport, but we didn’t hear the planes at night at all. They can be loud over the pool area and beautiful courtyard dining area, but it really doesn’t ruin the atmosphere at all. The rooms are large with comfortable beds and pillows and everything was very clean and well looked after. The staff really are amazing: very helpful and try hard to please. We loved it so much we didn’t want to leave to go to the next hotel and we all really would rather be at the Ayres. If we come back we’ll book our entire stay there for sure!

Comfortable beds and pillows, beautiful furniture, large rooms, easy going staff, peaceful environment, excellent value. Room service menu is good, but currently delivered all in plastic like takeout which was disappointing. Nice restaurant. Excellent happy hour. Carpet was a little grimy in our room.

First of all, my room looked nothing like the photos online. It appeared run down and in need of a new sofa of which has done it's time. The front desk staff should be educated as to what the website states when it comes to a guest requesting a late check-out. The website states that one can check-out as late as 3:00PM if you pay $30.However, I was informed by the evening front desk staff that I could check-out at 12:30 and any later would require speaking to the front desk staff in the morning. It was also stated that this was due to people requesting specific rooms and that the hotel was booked to capacity. Upon speaking to the front desk in the morning, I was told that for $30 I could check out at 1:30PM after pushing for more time. I noted that my flight was not until 4:35PM and was told that this was the latest that would be offered. I checked to see if rooms were available on my checkout date and found that I could choose from many different rooms. Therefore, the statement that the hotel was full was not a true statement. I will not consider this hotel in the future due to poor customer service in order to not keep the cleaning staff beyond their normal hours. If a hotel offers something, they should provide it with a smile and nothing less. Especially insulting was the attempt at charging the full amount of $30 for less than the 3:00PM check-out time.

What's the most common issue in the hotels? Noise!! Especially from old AC units, flushing from the above room toilet or housekeeping. This place killed it. Super quiet! We could sleep all night long till late morning. Staff is super friendly. And the cherry on the top was the restaurant. Very reasonable prices, nice food and superb service. If you're traveling to OC -highly recommended hotel.

Beautiful, gorgeous property! Me and my husband were booked around Christmas time and it was decorated beautifully! Booked the King Suite, spacious room, everything was clean. Water pressure in the shower great, lots of towels provided. This hotel is near an airport so be aware planes can be heard all day. Great tv with tons of channels to watch, and mini fridge was nice and cold. Staff was warm and welcoming, very helpful in checking in and checking out. Would definitely come back!

My family had a great stay and plans to stay here for all future Disneyland trips! From the beginning, the staff was very welcoming, and the lobby was decorated beautifully for the holidays. We were lucky enough to be upgraded for free from a two-queen studio to a two-queen suite and given a fantastic view of the patio. The room was spotless, had all necessities and comfortable beds. The hotel is in a great neighborhood with a lot to explore and only thirty minutes from Disneyland, so it was perfect. This hotel is very reasonably priced compared to hotels in Anaheim, and we avoided the Anaheim occupancy taxes. Overall we were all delighted with our experience!

I got bumped by an airline and was given a room here. It's right off the airport and they have a free shuttle. The staff was great! The rooms were standard fare, but a little bigger than most. Very clean and comfortable. Nice outdoor courtyard restaurant (good food) or there are a few small restaurants in the immediate area. Simple access to/from the airport and right off the freeway.

This hotel was wonderful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The decor was warm, cozy and inviting. The restaurant was an unexpected treat. We stayed for 3 days and during that time we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at least once. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. We had a large party of 11 and they handled it so well every time with seating in a lovely outside patio with a fountain and umbrellas. Yes, there is some airport noise due to location close to the airport but somehow you don’t notice it too much in your rooms. The room prices for this hotel is a great value for the location, comfort of the rooms and the service. One of the best points is the free self parking! This was one of the main reasons we initially chose this hotel as we had a rental car and stayed 3 nights and there was always ample parking available. I will definitely stay here again.

Loved the complimentary coffee and fresh water along with goodies and happy hour! The receptionists were always very kind and helpful. It was a bit of a maze finding our room but loved that we had views of the restaurant dining area. Didn’t love that it was somehow humid every time we came back to the room & that someone cleaned our room when we had our “sail away” door hanger on.

This was my third or fourth stay at the hotel. My first experience in 2022 Q4 wasn't the best as the front desk staff wasn't very friendly. The recent one and the one before my stay were great experiences overall. The staff has been very friendly and the rooms are always clean and well-maintained. I appreciate the daily cleaning of the room without requesting or following up multiple times. Also love the fact that you have EV charging on site as I mostly rent a Tesla during my monthly trip.

We visited the Ayres Costa Mesa for a soccer tournament in late May and were greeted by friendly staff. I was impressed by how the rooms were fully cleaned daily despite other hotels pulling back on such services. Quick shout out to the restaurant staff who were extremely efficient with our large group. Our hotel rate included breakfast which was made fresh and served versus a traditional buffet. One recommendation would be to issue bills for each table despite the complimentary breakfast so that we could properly tip the servers. Most of the families from the team didn't carry very much cash and I feel that the restaurant staff could have earned higher gratuities if we were given the opportunity to charge to our room. I purposely ordered something extra to get a bill printout for this reason. Fantastic stay overall.

My second stay at this hotel and it was great. The staff is super nice and friendly. My room was clean, quiet and my bed was comfortable. I slept great. This is a beautiful hotel and reasonably priced. And I love that their check in is 3:00 and check out is Noon!

I would definitely stay here again! I will be recommending the Ayres Hotel to others. Every staff member we came in contact with was courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel "extras" were over the top!
