Metro Bowl

Bowling alley

👍👍 This place always keeps me coming back whenever possible. Is it the retro aesthetic? Is it the fact that you have to score your games yourself? Is it the classic rock that plays through the speakers? Is it the homely atmosphere that Jim (proprietor) has between patrons and the other staff? No matter... People often mention bowling,

Fun place with a very neighborhood feel. Great place to take the family for bowling, or to hang out with friends for a drink. The one drawback cash only and ATM fee is $3 bucks.

No matter the reason, Metro Bowl is a very charming gathering place with a well-maintained set of lanes. If you do wish to bowl, be sure to call ahead - their hours are very limited and the small size tends to prioritize leagues (at the time of this writing, there is an ongoing league running every day of the week).

My husband and I came in for a spontaneous date night for old school billiards, and it was so much fun! It's an old school retro little time machine! Take cash when you go, they don't have a card reader! Love this place so much!

Great league play at Metro. Jimmy has the place rockin playing classic rock music at a classic spot in Crystal Lake. The bowling ally keeps old school alive!

Great place to bowl. 10 lanes. No electronic scoring system. You learn to score your games. Great pro shop run by John. Excellent teacher with excellent ball making skills. Also has a well run bar. You'll enjoy the experience.

Just went in to have a few drinks, was packed with league players in the bowling alley part. Bartender and owner were funny and great people. Well definitely have a go there again..

This place is great. It definitely comes from a time when every small town had a bowling alley and people went to the bowling alley to bowl (this is not a Brunswick Zone). There is no electronic scoring so brush up on how to keep score. Cash only business but the games and drinks are inexpensive. Only down side is that open bowling times are limited because of league play.
