Pizza is very good, that’s what the stars are for. Don’t trust Colin to give you an accurate description of menu items. I asked what I thought was a simple question, “Are your hot dogs served on a poppyseed bun?” He said yes. I told him I was craving a good Chicago dog, and made it clear I needed the poppyseed bun. Not only was it a cheap dollar store bun, it was hard and stale. I usually like their fries, but they were half cooked and inedible. I wouldn’t recommend getting the fries to go, and definitely not the hot dog. Both went into the garbage.

Very polite, & friendly staff. You can't go wrong with their double decker meat lover pizza it's Delicious. The thin crust is just as tasty, but if you're a little hungrier than normal definitely try the double decker. They make a cheese one as well you won't be disappointed.

If you want the best restaurant pizza you’ll probably ever find, go to Nicks in Crystal Lake. Great staff, amazing food and the restaurant looks great inside with all decor and the whole feel of it. Highly highly recommend.

This squirrel 🐿️ knows Nick's has been around a long time. So they are always busy 😕. It's worth going. I'll go early or late, rush... Well this squirrel is here to tell you your waiting. They had a lot of open tables, but no one wants to work, so if they sit you at a table you'll be you'll be stuck waiting on service. I see their point better to wait to sit you and get service. Take cash, or pay the charge card fee. They don't have an ATM on site. I have many mixed feelings. Small family place get hit by the charge card fee. I would recommend they put an ATM in charge a small FAIR fee, which most of us can get back from our bank. Food is good, 🍕 🍕🍕🍕🍕 and peanut 🥜🥜🥜🥜🥜🥜. I love how they still offer peanut 🥜🥜🥜🥜.

Nick is so rich he charges his customers a hidden charge of 3.5% on their bill. But he does not put the charge on the bill, he adds it later and charges your credit card. Thanks Nick for being so dishonest. Great food, great service but dishonest tactics to charge more. Need to make this extra charge obvious at billing time.

The brothers at the curbside pick up are the best. They will make a bad day good and a good day better. The pizza is delicious. The gluten free pizza is delicious. And you can't beat b1g1 Tuesdays!

Love Love Love Nick's Pizza. Sometimes there a little wait, sometimes there isn't. Pizza is ALWAYS on point. Probably the best thin crust around IMO. The crust makes this pizza, great crunch, chewy, sturdy enough for toppings, yet light and airy. On. Point. Family friendly. Love the decorations for the holidays. Great staff! Great environment!

Best thin crust in town and probably a few towns over. Nice staff but very small bar and bar tables with limited TVs

Went here for dinner last night. Was crowded but we were seated within 10 minutes. The waitress was pleasant, brought us drinks and took our orders quickly. About 20 minutes later a different waitress came by and asked if our orders were taken. We told her yes they were and she left. Guests that arrived after us (with different waitresses) were all getting their meals. We flagged down the hostess to ask about our meals and tell her we had been waiting a long time. She said she would look into it. She never returned. After being there an hour and 15 minutes we decided to leave. The hostess was just sitting at the front and we asked for the manager (think his name was Matt). Told him our disappointing experience and he nonchalantly said the waitress had an emergency, her brother was recently diagnosed with a medical condition. So he did not even apologize or make any effort to make up for the situation other than telling us to "have a nice day". Will never go back and will tell others of this awful experience.

Ordered food for the first time tonight as part of the fundraiser, and boy oh boy it was just wonderful. The young lady behind the counter Gina was very friendly and welcoming when I came in. I was a little early for my pizza so I got to watch a little bit of what goes on back there and they really do work like a well oiled machine. If you haven't been in to try the food give it a shot! Can't wait to come back

Well, once again... Another restaurant that deserves credit. I was born and raised in Crystal Lake. Where Nick's currently stands, is where the Northwest Herald Newspaper building was. Us natives of the area, know our pizza. This place doesn't hold back punches. First time, having pizza there. Dyno-mite!!! Nicks signature + black olives was wonderful. It was LOADED full of toppings, not skimpy at all. Our server Clay was right on top of our requests. The bartender, Monica didn't try to mask the specialty drink, but instead came to the table to make sure it was satisfactory. Great job guys, AAA+!!! Had visited the place one time before for a CB club reunion years ago. It was worth every penny then, as it is now. Just great food and service all the way around. Chicken wings are next up. A rare 5 - Star find. Little disappointing that we couldn't throw peanut shells everywhere, but hey the ambience of the place speaks for itself. Just a great family restaurant, that is very busy. A full parking lot speaks volume, as to how good it really is. Awesome, another great place in Crystal Lake. I'll be back to see y'all again. Bring back the peanut wars! Lol. Take care. Super job!

I usually love their pizza. I recommend to most. But it is probably the most expensive pizza around for the size. My last pizza was slightly undercooked and the other had way to much seasoning. And the dine in experience is cool. Warning ⚠️, they have peanut out at all the tables. Wish they had bigger than a 14"

We had always gone to the Nick's location in South Elgin and enjoyed the food. We finally stopped into the CL location and were so impressed that the food was just as awesome! We tried some of the specialty cocktails and they were tasty. We also had a cold tap German beer which was fantastic. We love eating the peanuts while we wait for our food. Fun decor. The staff was super friendly, too. We will be going back.

Pizza was good! If you like the cracker crust you’ll enjoy it. Service was better than most places these days, as they actually seem to be well staffed.

I love the pizza these guys make, it’s the best one around town. It’s always on point! The customer service is phenomenal. I love how they always treat you with the utmost respect and superb attitude. Latasha always makes it a great experience with her smile and energy. Definitely recommend to come in and have a great time!

It was very busy when we arrived. We sat at the bar and had drinks and pizza. May was our fabulous server. She buzzed around the area quickly and efficiently served everyone. Great food and great service. Love this place!

As it has been in past visits, Nick's pizza was very good. A large (14") pizza with three toppings was the perfect amount to satisfy and not overfill three adults. Of course, there seems to always be room in the stomach for one more piece of Nick's pizza. They still offer free shelled peanuts, but now ask that you do not shove the left over shells onto the floor as in the past. A slight detracting factor from past visits. Staff was well versed in the menu and was attentive but didn't hover around the table too frequently. I definitely recommend frequenting Nick's Pizza and Pub.

Fantastic Pizza. Ordered the 1/2 Sausage, thin crust and extra crispy. Peanuts 🥜 were an old school touch and great. 3 stars because staff was uninterested. Busy texting. Not mean just slow and it wasn't busy. Also for me in particular I'm not really in the mood to eat and enjoy my food with stuffed bear and a beautiful moose staring around. That's just my preference.

A family favorite. Never a bad meal, never bad service. I have attended from a sports award ceremony to a quiet dinner in this restaurant and have never been disappointed. Whether pizza, salads or sandwiches, there is no wrong choice. The cocktails are pretty good as well!

We went to a birthday party for my grandson here. The pizza is always solid here. I think it is my favorite thin crust pizza. We were disappointed that they don't have the peanuts anymore. The beef was really good as well. It would be 5 stats if the peanuts were still a part of the atmosphere.

Haven’t had pizza at nicks in probably 10 years but I was in town and craving thin crust and gave it a shot. Was happily surprised, pizza was done perfect. Staff was helpful. Glad to see you can still get a real Chicago thin crust in Crystal Lake.

  • 4/5 Michael S. 1 year ago on Google
Normally a fan of their pizza. Very generous with toppings and staff has always been wonderful. They are a bit pricey but it's a fun place to hang out at with friends. If price is important then you may want to try other places. Pizza averages around 20 to 30 for a large.

  • 3/5 Yosh L. 4 years ago on Google
Loved the inside. It's always nice to eat at places that have a very unique scenery. I enjoyed eating peanuts and then just throwing the shell on the floor although it felt wrong haha. The pizza was really good. The wings were just alright..not that much sauce on them and the sauce tasted a little different than your usual buffalo sauce. I was a little upset because it took our waiter 15 minutes to even ask what we wanted to drink and the sad part was that it was not even busy. This is the main reason I gave this place three stars otherwise it was great.

We loved this place! Peanuts to snack on while waiting. We ordered a couple appetizers - mushrooms and the veggie platter. Both were delicious. You can scan the table for the menu with your phone so keep contact to a minimum. Super friendly staff. Will definitely come back

We reserved a room for a celebration of life family gathering....Room was ready but we were not allowed to go back to the room until at least half of our party was present....I would have liked a little bit of time with my immediate family to sit and reflect on my husbands life, hence is why we got there 45 minutes early, before the rest of the family arrived.... in which were not allowed to go back to the reserved room, having to wait in the waiting area at the front of the restaurant until 20 other people arrived....I was very disappointed and for that reason I would not recommend you to anyone who was having any kind of gathering for there venue.

We ordered pizza from the Crystal Lake location to be delivered to a hotel about 1 mile away. It was guaranteed by 8pm. At 8:23 we called and they said it was 8 minutes away…at 8:45 we were very hungry and called and they said the driver was “just walking out the door”. In the end the food was delicious but was 55 minutes late and the driver was not polite about it. I would never get delivery again, but I would definitely do pick up or dine in. We had pizza and salad, both were great.

  • 2/5 Nancy H. 7 months ago on Google
Collin was great on the phone but the pizzas were lacking especially the meat'za. It tasted (and looked) like someone had dropped a bottle of oregano or basil or ?? on it. The gluten free pizza was ok but because the toppings are distributed as "wholes" the flavors were weird.

I love coming to nicks for bogo pizza. Tonight was a bad night. I waited in line for 25 minutes total with no one coming to ask for my name or number. I was trying to get the runners attention who would look at me and continue serving guests behind me in line. I sat in the first spot right outside the door for 15 minutes. I called the store after sitting first spot in line for 10 minutes and asked them what was going on. They said someone would be right out to serve me. I then watched the runners bring out 5 more pizzas to people behind me. Finally they realized I was never served and brought me my food after a 25 minute total wait from the time I entered the line till I got home. My pizza was lukewarm and very obviously sat for a long time while I waited. I thought for sure they would comp a pizza or offer a coupon for the complete lack of service. Nicks can do better.

Went here for dinner with the family, the inside of nicks is pretty cool! Lots of cool things on the walls to look at! The pizza was alright, it has a great crust. If you get pizza from here, I would recommend you order it with extra sauce and you'll be much happier!

Pizza was... not good. Cardboard crust and tasteless sauce. Disappointed. Wife ordered a beef sandwich which was extremely dry but somewhat flavorful. Atmosphere was nice with a lodge feel and free peanuts. Staff was courteous and friendly. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant for Pizza there are numerous superior local restaurants for it.

Walked into this place on a Sunday morning literally the second they opened and dropped a 9-year old soccer team/party of 30 on the staff. They did an outstanding job - quick service, the fast arrival of food. And the food is really good! Pizzas, salads were fantastic. The thin crust pizza is uniquely awesome. The place has an incredible amount of space and ambiance with the game room and interesting decorations to see. Whenever the team is up this way this will be our spot!

Never have I gotten bad service or really bad food. I have at times gotten fried mozzarella sticks that weren’t really hot, pizza ever so slightly burnt, these were extremely rare. Been going to the Crystal Lake location for at least 15 years.

We eat here once a week! The service is unparalleled and the family atmosphere is unmet. I highly recommend their calzones and the french fries and bruschetta are so addictive.

  • 1/5 Kaila H. 3 years ago on Google
the workers were really nice !!!! but what i recieved was not a margherita pizza.... i expected something saucy with basil leaves, slices of fresh mozzarella and seasoned tomato.. but instead i got this dry, stale tasting, sad pizza.... the cheese was hard and definately not fresh mozzarella...... it was also super overpriced for what it was... it was horrifying. but i still ate it

First time getting Nick's since we moved in the area last year. We went on Tuesday and picked up pizzas for the buy one get one deal! We loved the thin crust and are excited to dine in when everything opens back up. Only negative is the sizes are small compared to most pizza places. My wife and I split a large pizza.

Food was mediocre at best. Service was good. Menu is VERY limited for someone looking for gluten free options. The pizza was ok but pretty boring. They certainly don't give you a lot of toppings. My husband's thin crust looked exactly like my gluten free and he said it wasn't very good. My kids fries were cold and on the hard side. The kids mac and cheese (i assume this is just kraft & not homemade) also seemed old and it was all clumped together. Service was friendly but honestly just not worth us trying again. All food I could have made better at home.

This establishment's food is excellent along with the atomsphere antique stuff all over the building. The servers wear their masks. But the bad news the Covid-19 social distancing is NOT enforced nor is limiting numbers in groups enforced either and customers are NOT forced to wear their mask when walking around looking at the stuff in inside the building.

The employees were chill and kind and I'm really happy with my experience ordering online here. I'd placed an order in the morning for a few pizzas for a party I was throwing later in the day. I had to order an extra one an hour before picking it up. When they brought it out to me, they explained they (without me saying much about it to them except that I had two orders) combined both of the orders into one so I'd get the BOGO deal. (I didn't even realize there was a BOGO when I ordered, but the attention to detail and making sure the customer was looked after despite me not even having asked was something I really, really appreciate.) Thank you! I don't usually write reviews like this, but for whatever reason I felt compelled to write this one.

Ordering for delivery... Will not dine in because of noise and questionable service. Pizza (if I can call it pizza) is pathetically unremarkable. Delivery monumentally late - the predicted "60 minutes" turned into 1 hour and 45 minutes. Rude phone customer service when we called again to check on delivery time. Unfortunate choice.

  • 2/5 Kurt R. 3 years ago on Google
Well, to start with, the place is unreasonably noisy. Nearly impossible to have a conversation without shouting. The pizza was dreadful - I have had better pizzas from the freezer section at the grocery store. The waitress was a *itch and had the table-side manner of a bulldog. The only redeeming quality that I found there, was that the mixed drinks were stiff. Would I go back again - only if forced to. Update: the owner responded and asked why I gave a 2 star review. I would have to say, that the review itself is pretty much explanatory. Maybe if they want more in the review, they can tell me WHAT EXACTLY they are wanting to see????
