Best 49er's flap jacks in the state. Amazing delicious Food and wonderful service. Restaurant is very nice and wait on weekends is not too long. I drive about an hour and it's well worth it. Bathrooms are very clean and neat. Plenty of parking available and many major store in the area.

This place is awesome! We have been several times and are obsessed with the Dutch pancakes. The menu says that they take 20 minutes, but ours always seem to be quicker. The Dutch harvest is my personal favorite, it's savory with cheese, onion, tomato, broccoli. Definitely a must try!

Our family favorite place to go. Went in there for brunch. Staff is very friendly. Always welcoming. This time i tried Spinach Crepe- my first time. It was yummy. I love spicy food, But they sprinkled paprika for me on top. It is served with potato pancakes. Which was a win too. At Friday noon it was not crowded and no wait. Ambiance - good, spacious booths. Very clean. Not very loud.

Food took over 20 minutes in a weekday morning, salsa was frozen cold. $4.50 for a coffee $8 for a side of bacon & if you like unfluffly pancakes this is your place.

I am big fan of Richard Walkers from years but i was impressed more when i visited this location. This location had a very cozy seating arrangement. It was well decorated for holidays. I love their coffee, which was served as soon as we sat. Today, we ordered Cauliflower Wrap and quesadilla. The quesadilla was very good. I got it with Well done Hash Browns California Wrap - it was not that bad either. They were served with Fries.

A very cute American breakfast place. The decor was festive and inviting. The food was very tasty and as a vegan, was happily surprised that they have vegan eggs and I was able to "veganaize" most dishes. The only complaint, they seemed short staffed but the waiter/host really picked up the pace.

Rich food and service I visited there first time but had good experience. Coffee was perfect according to my taste I ordered California wrap and fresh kaiser roll . French fries that came with California wrap were too good. Even Hash Browns were so crispy and tasty. Food was well cooked. Everything was fresh and yummy. Restaurant was well decorated as Christmas look. Sevice was good. No wait for seating . Quality and quantity was worth its price. Highly recommended and visit it again with family and friends.

Great service, great food and coffee. What more can you ask for? Got seated right away st 9am Sunday. Was more full when we left at 10am but still no wait. The Apple Pancake is the bomb!

Our pancakes were so cool that the butter would not melt and my eggs that I ordered over medium were hard and the sides were almost burned so I did not eat very much of my eggs. It was not crowded as this was 7:00 a.m. but the coffee was good

Hubby and I ate here twice while passing through. Lots of different pancake options. Friendly service both times we were there as well as delicious food. Definitely recommend the baked apple pancake as well as the Georgia pecan pancake. Giving this a 4/5 overall due to price. While the baked pancakes are huge it is pricy. I also didn't like that in order to add a side of bacon or sausage it was like $5. Also drinks were like $3.50.. Overall good food and service.

Very nice outdoor seating with umbrellas . Only thing I would recommend is a fence or barrier put up between outdoor seating and busy vehicle exit very close to tables. A little one can very easily run 8 feet out into street and get run over ! Food was excellent, and waiter friendly and very attentive on water and coffee refills !

We've been coming here for years and always appreciate the friendly and customer service oriented servers, the calm atmosphere (including pleasant and quiet music) and of course, great breakfast options. Dutch baby is a classic, apple pancake, and omelets are very good as well as crepes and waffles. Thank you to the staff @ RWPH in Crystal Lake for an enjoyable experience visit after visit!

We have been coming to these restaurants for several years now. Well prior to Pandemic America, this restaurant has had a high standard of food and service. Today they are still serving an outstanding breakfast, bar none.

Waiter and most of staff was awesome! However, when the kids and I were leaving, we saw a handicap car accidentally left their doors open and lights on. So my concerned son went back inside to let the older hostess know. However, she completely ignored him, even after he politely tried getting her attention by saying, "excuse me." She looked at him then turned away. Some other people then entered, he again said, "excuse me," again she looked up at him, then took care of the other people who went inside and now around him. He waited there until I came back in to see what was taking so long, as he assumed and hoped the hostess would return. That's when he told me what happened, and our awesome waiter saw we were waiting back at the entrance, so he came over and inquired about our needs. My son communicated our concern and we left, with me having to say sometimes people don't hear (to which he said "no, she looked right at me") or older people don't always respect kids like mommy.... Other than the hostess, our special annual visit, keeping to the pre-divorce tradition of visiting for brunch on the day before school starts after meeting the teachers, was so good and tasty!!!

Erin, our waitress was so friendly, she got everything we need to enjoy our meal without out us needing to ask. We received everything hot and ready to eat. The meal was amazing we tried the baked pecan, asparagus scramble, as well as the Dutch baby. ( which is a similar recipe to one that I made in my junior high home ect class when I was a kid) really brought back memories and created new ones all at the same time. If you are looking for a memorable dining experience of your own I highly recommend this place, you won't leave here with an empty stomach or heart. Ordered pickup through DoorDash store front via Google. They packaged all toppings separately which kept the pancakes from getting soggy. The order was ready for pickup 10 minutes early which had me worried the food would be cold (I live 20 minutes away). Fortunately, the food was still warm and fresh even after driving back home. Gluten free--and peanut free--pancakes are delicious (a full order comes with six). They actually taste like traditional buttermilk pancakes. French toast was supposed to have whipped cream but maybe it doesn't travel well. We just added our own.

Ok so the service is always good here. The food normally fantastic. We got a Dutch baby but the big one. I think German pancake?? So good it is always perfect here. We also ordered the apple pancake this one was burnt. The third meal with a fried steak with hash browns eggs and pancakes. A side of bacon. The bacon is always good nice and thick definitely not the bacon we eat at home. Even my kids were like this is so good. The steak was fantastic and the gravy spot on. The staff here is phenomenal. Definitely worth a try

A great place to grab some breakfast. The atmosphere is a walk back in time with a lodge setting and large fireplace in the main dining area. The service is always fantastic here, it's like they read your mind with what you're needing and my coffee cup is always filled or topped off. The coffee here is superb, one of my favorites actually. A medium-dark roast with a nutty after taste makes it a great companion to their selection of food. My personal favorites are the 49'ers flapjacks, which are enormous and have an almost crepe texture to them. My other is their Santa Fe omelette, a great choice when you're needing some spicy heat. Paired with their delicious habanero salsa it's a match made in heaven. They have seating for all party types, singles to large groups and a bar in the front if you fancy a cocktail or spirit. It's one of my favorite breakfast places and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a big hearty breakfast.

Great place to have breakfast. The chilaquiles were very good. Waffle came with fresh strawberries and the egg white scrambled we had was very good aswell. Will be coming back. Our server was also very good.

Our friend Annie told us to jump in the car and she kidnapped us to Richard Walker's. There was an inordinate amount anxiety over the German Pancake. We were cautiously excited to try it. We were seated quickly on a late Friday morning. Our server, Martin, was waiting at our table and quickly took our drink order. By the time we got comfortable, our drinks were on the table. Martin was respectful of the fact that we wanted to continue our conversation with Annie and politely interrupted us to ask if we were ready to order. We decided to get a few different items and sample each. The German pancake is like a thin bread pudding. It looks like an empty deep dish pizza with a dusting of powdered sugar. I tried a small piece and fell in love! It had a subtle sweetness and we squeezed some lemon juice on the whole pancake which gave us a contrasting bitterness. It was perfect. We drizzled some syrup and each took a piece. It was delicious. We also had the original Eggs Benedict, Sausage gravy with scrambled eggs, and hashbrowns smothered in onions and cheese. Everything was amazing and the service was top-notch!

$4.50 x 3 for coffee=$13.50 for three black coffees at breakfast, are you kidding me? The prices have gone up so much but unfortunately the quality has gone down. Bill was $50 for two omelettes and coffees split among 3 adults and the food was average :( The service is excellent though and everyone is very kind and attentive and the atmosphere inside and outside is excellent. Unfortunately this place has gone downhill over the past few years but I do hope it improves!

I came here with my family for the first time for breakfast and it was an amazing overall experience! Our server Barb, was very nice and attentive! I would recommend this place and their famous coffee, I look forward to coming back again!

One of two different breakfast restaurants opened by different brothers in the Walker family, Richard Walker's is a consistently great place to go for a variety of breakfast and lunch foods, including the very Midwestern standby, the Apple Pancake. Omelettes and corned beef hash are also common favorites. Seating is a bit tight, especially in the booths (minimal space for winter jackets or a small/medium purse or small backpack), so if exchanging gifts during the holiday season over breakfast, that might be best done outside.

I think around the clock restaurant down the street was better variety, but this is a good place for a specialty pancake.

Went here this morning, it was okay. The service was very slow. It took the waiter at least 15 minutes to take our order and it wasn't busy. The food was okay, I'd rather go down the street to around the clock to get breakfast instead. Kinda pricey here too. I won't go here again.

This place is so good. My cousin and I love to go when we get the by one get one entree coupon. They amount for the price if the entrees are worth it in itself. I always get the Thick Bacon and Eggs combo with pancakes. You have the option of hashbrowns or toast if pancakes are not your thing. They are social distancing indoor and out. I would strongly recommending trying this place out!

The food was good, and our server was friendly, they must have been short staffed as they forgot parts of our order. The milk also went bad, and they ran out of food items to go with the meal as well.
