I am only giving 1 star because 0 stars is not an option. These people are liars and crooks and prey on people to collect money for procedures they do not need. I was lied to by this office and manipulated into getting an unnecessary consult. I explained my financial concern and my age led me to believe it was unnecessary for me to have a visit. I was guaranteed up and down that the consult would cost no more than $50. I provided insurance information and everything and was emphatically told that this was medically necessary and due to my family history and that I would be charged no more than $50. I paid the $50 the day of the consult. Weeks later, I was mailed a bill for almost $250. Upon calling to explain I was spoken to very rudely and the practice manager hung up the phone on me and told me to call my insurance problem because I was not her problem. I called Harvard Pilgrim and confirmed that on 7/30/21 their office called and they spoke with somebody named Samantha at 3:31 PM. I called back and told the doctors office and Lisa told me I was a liar and they did not call, despite Harvard Pilgrim having a recording of the call. This woman had no compassion or patience whatsoever, was incredibly rude, and lied multiple times in our phone call. She threatened to send me to collections when I explained I was given false information by her office. I asked for her to help me and she hung up on me instead. These people are disgusting. DO NOT GO HERE -- save yourself the headache and go somewhere where patient care is a priority.

Edited 8/17/21 to include follow up experience below. As others have mentioned in previous reviews. It's an absolute test in patience trying to get an appointment with this office. After waiting six weeks for a GI appt with Dr. George Dickstein, I was called the day prior saying he needed to reschedule and the next available appointment was a month out. After zero follow up communication, I called the office and was told the person who re-scheduled my appointment (that they cancelled on) gave me the wrong time so I missed that appointment as well... I am now taking the next available appointment which is over a month away. I have never experienced such poor customer service and it is clear based off prior reviews they are making zero efforts to address this. I would not recommend this office to anyone based off their scheduling process alone. EDIT 8/17/2021: A couple of months later and my in-office experience was as bad as their scheduling process. Normal office wait time to be seen. Once the initial new-patient process was complete, Dr. George Dickstein came in shortly after. His first order of business was to call me out on my Google review. No apology.. almost accusatory... I wasn't aware Doctor's read their own reviews but I was appalled that I had to defend myself for leaving an honest review about my experience. Extremely unprofessional and another red flag. After briefly discussing my medical history, an upper endoscopy was scheduled for 6/14/2021 so Dr. Dickstein could examine more thoroughly and provide his follow up thoughts. They took samples during the procedure for later testing. After waking up from anesthesia, Dr Dickstein spoke with me for about 30 seconds saying they were taking some follow up samples for testing and overall it went well. He was very brief and I was still mentally recovering from the anesthesia, so I waited to hear more on the procedure's results. Zero follow up communication was provided. However, I did want to mention, they were EXTREMELY quick on turning around the 3- separate bills for this procedure. This Office can process invoices and bills with no issue, but everything else is magically and wildly inefficient. They updated their patient portal to show the samples they tested came back negative (this was not the primary reason for the procedure) on July 1st. That's great to hear but again, not the reason why I had the procedure in the first place. I called their office twice, today (8/17/21) the first time I was put on hold for 15-minutes (they then hung up on me). The second time (10 minute wait on hold) the woman on the phone was very confrontational, abrasive, and overall unhelpful. All I am looking for is Dr. Dickstein's feedback from the expensive procedure they performed. As a patient, this entire experience has been hostile, transactional and frustrating. Quick to take my money and schedule expensive procedures, but slow to provide feedback or any effective medical care at all. Just another patient they can take advantage of, over-bill and ignore. There have been numerous responses from the owner "addressing" these changes, hiring new staff members, working on their phone and processing systems, but clearly NOTHING has changed on that front and the negative reviews keep pouring in. Please take this review as a giant red flag. I have never felt so compelled to write a review in the hopes that others do not make the same mistake. Please, stay away.

Completely unresponsive and unprofessional. Do not communicate any test results or follow up on procedures, despite repeated calls, messages, and complaints. (a problem which they seem to mitigate by not answering the phone) Scheduling is a nightmare as well.

I would give zero stars if possible. I had my procedure almost 3 months ago. Dr. Mogollon said he would call me in 1-2 weeks with my results. He never did. I can see online that the results were bad. My out of pocket expenses were almost $2,000. I have called the office and left several messages with his front desk. The always assure me that he will call me right back, He never does. He obviously does not care at all about his patients. He has never called me back and I have no idea how I am supposed to be handling my chronic condition at this point. I will be looking for a new doctor asap.

Impossible to talk to them! I have been there so many times, with no assistance, and the doctor does not follow up. I have tried to call the office to schedule the exam, but they do not get the call and never return the calls, I have been waiting for them to call me for more than 3 weeks to schedule an appointment, and guess what? It never happened. I'm still waiting. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this office.

I have no problem with Dr. Oviedo, but I do have a problem with the office. I called to confirm the date and time of my appointment, which they did. When I arrived, I was told that I came on the wrong day...That's an HOUR OF COMMUTE OUT THE WINDOW.

After reading some of these reviews, I just had to step up. Yes, it does take a little longer to get call backs, you do have to wait a little longer for the staff to answer the phone, but this is a whole different time in the healthcare business. Businesses are understaffed, not only by the office help, but the doctors and PAs as well. I can't say enough good things about Dr Dickstein. About 15 years ago he diagnosed my issue immediately when 2 other doctors basically said I shouldn't be having any symptoms based on the care they were giving me. During these Covid times, he has not given up on me and has been very aggressive with my treatment. Yes, I have to wait longer for return calls, but it's to be expected. People need to pause for a minute before they post negative reviews for the world to see. Talk with the office staff first. Send them an email addressing your concerns. You're talking about peoples' livelihoods. Just stop for a minute and think if this is the way you want to be treated.

Unless you want to stay on perma hold, don't waste your time. They are unresponsive and reception desk is rude. I can't even get an email back to schedule and appt. Apparently, they don't care enough about patients, or they'd respond. Glad it's not an urgent situation I'm in.

Dr Nadelson is an absolutely incredible physician. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and has impeccable bedside manner. He goes out of his way to make his patients feel heard and cared for. I appreciate that he never rushes appointments.

Terrible things happen They took my soft blankets away when I still awake before anthertisia is in me. They made me freeze so I can feel my spine fusion those evil people. Then I wake up with one blanket vs 5 blankets no heated blankets cold freezing. Yelled for help nurse goes I busy. Risk management on vacation. Run away if you want a cold experience go here.

I went to Gastro Health at the end of last year with what I assumed would be a routine hemorrhoid banding. I have had this treatment done once before with no problems, albeit slight discomfort with some sitz baths and pain meds to follow for a day. The doctor was unfriendly and kept asking me if we should go through with the procedure, even during the procedure as he was examining me, which should have been a red flag and I should have stopped it. They also used no numbing cream. Once done, I was uncomfortable as I stood there waiting my ten minutes to determine overall pain levels, but the doctor dismissed me and sent me home with routine instructions and a phone number to call if I experienced pain. Reader, I made it home and I think, as a man, I may have come close as I ever will to what childbirth feels like. I was two naproxen sodium and two ibuprofen in before I could walk to sit in the bath and the radiating current of pain stopped going down my leg. I almost went to the ER to get them removed. I called the number listed for assistance twice and got no response at all, so I had no one to check with from the office. Eventually the pain subsided around the 5 hour mark. What put me over the edge was that I received a phone call about a follow up visit. I explained this to the receptionist and said I would not be coming back, I did not feel comfortable after that procedure. She said she would tell the doctor and hung up and that was that. There was no concern, no follow up, nothing. Would highly suggest not going here if you can avoid it. Having this procedure done before, I know that was not done right and they obviously don’t care. The receptionist was nice in person.

I had a horrendous experience with Greater Boston Gastro. Not only is the staff that answer's the phone & works in the office almost always rude/unprofessional; Dr. Oviedo actually violated my HIPPA (confidential/privacy) rights by talking to another patient about me. I wld never recommend this doctor's office for obvious reasons.

My first visit with Dr Ahn was great. Of course they were a few minutes behind, like most doctors. Admin staff were pleasant and knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable Dr Ahn was a good and patient listener and I never felt rushed. She explained all my options and gave me some decision making power. I felt positive when I left with new information and a treatment plan. I will very willingly return

All the reviews that are negative that I'm seeing clearly have forgotten that there's a global pandemic still happening. Just because masks are coming off doesn't mean they should be and just because you're impatient doesn't mean the staff isn't working itself to the bone. I've never had a bad experience with this place and I don't see any signs of this lack of attention in the secretary or medical staff whatsoever. Maybe the people leaving bad reviews are just aggressive and don't know how medical business works, iy my guess. I am truly sorry for the staff at this facility receiving such a staggering review-bomb. Almost all the bnegativity started during 2020 from what I can see, which tells me it is literally just people not understanding that the world is changing.

Update: happy to report this practice has not only greatly improved their availability (previously reaching the practice via email/phone was incredibly difficult) but maintained it months after posting the updated review below Previously, I would have echoed what many others had been saying here, specifically that the medical staff were amazing but reception / generally contacting the practice was a nightmare. Happy to say this has drastically changed due to direct efforts on the part of the practice, and they're now much easier to contact / follow up with. Kudos!

As a patient I had a wonderful experience with Doctor Andres Mogollon. He is extremely competent, very professional and he treated me with a sense of humanity that I will never forget. Certainly, if he is not the best doctor in his specialty, he is certainly one of the brightest and one of the best. Thank you for everything Doctor Mogollon.

I had to share my review here because I see so many negative reviews and my experience was not negative at all. Starting with the lady who checked me in who was so kind to me even though I stupidly left my license and insurance at home, I started to cry because my whole life is being sick and I was just overwhelmed and had been waiting for this appt, but she worked with me so I didn’t miss my appointment and showed such kindness to me, treating me with patience and respect. Dr. Oviedo was kind and took the time to listen to me, reassure me and order follow up testing to be sure. He was thorough in his assessment and investigation while still reassuring me. The woman who checked me out was very helpful and friendly too! The only reason I give 4 stars is because of the wait time but I can tell you it’s no fault of the receptionists, they were nonstop busy the whole time I was there. It seems to me that they spend a lot of time on hold booking other appts (ultrasounds, colonoscopies etc) and so they’re at the mercy of those offices answering them before they can keep working and take the next patient which explains why it’s hard for them to answer the phone often or things are sometimes slower. It’s not their fault or due to not working or not knowing how to do their job etc. I know others have had issues with billing here and I will admit I can’t speak to that because I have MassHealth and don’t have copays, but I wanted to share that my experience here was a good one and I was treated kindly by everyone in the office, doctors, MA’s, and receptionists alike.

The doctors are grade A but the office staff is very nasty and Also if you are a masshealth patient and you are charged any kind of extra fees by this office please report to the attorney general of ma and report to masshealth…This Office continues to charge masshealth patient missed appointment fees and other fees that are against the law, aparently they want to be sued for taking advantage of low income individuals this is an illegal practice and they have charged me one fee and tried to do it two more times Please know your rights as a masshealth patient and fight back! This is illegal and I will be following up with masshealth and the AG’s office

Busy office, but worth it. I have always received great medical care from the staff and doctors and have for years. I refer people all the time because of their high standard of care. They know their stuff at Greater Boston. 5 stars for sure!!! Get your colonoscopy!

My experience has been; extremely long hold times when I call, small basement office with no windows and tight quarters for staff and patients and handicap access is on side of building but not clearly marked. Most staff have been pleasant and helpful. A couple have been abrupt. While i haven't had to cancel at last minute, I do think the 48hr cancelation policy is unreasonable compared to other medical facilities. I did have a colonoscopy with Greater Boston GI doctor at Metrowest Hospital and my experience was except. The staff there were outstanding.

If I could have done less than 1 star I would have. I have booked 3 appointments here and every one has not happened due to the office staff not calling to have me reschedule. They are incapable of getting anyone competent to handle their bookings!!!!!
