We’re in town for a week, so decided to stop by to check out the local gym scene. Right away, we were blown away by the price of a day pass for this gym. Coming from SLC which has some of the best gyms in the country with day pass prices ranging from $22-$29 depending on the gym… CRG’s price was definitely a shock. You pay $26, which doesn’t include rental gear, for a single day pass. The gym itself is fairly small and built into a pit in the ground. While the setting is fun and challenging, there is just not a lot of value here to justify a $26 day pass. My understanding is that they charge that much in order to push people to buy memberships, which is something that only works when you’re local to the area. The day pass price aside, the facility itself was okay, setting was good, and the community of local climbers hanging out was awesome. A solid 3/5 star climbing gym. My rating would definitely go up to 5 stars if the day pass price point was $10-$15.

Make sure to ask about their $10 deal because they won't tell you about it even when you ask! They will charge you $26 and laugh all the way home; what a scam. Besides the appalling human interactions with the staff, they gym is a really run-down facility and not well maintained. I felt the walls move when climbing (which is terrifying). This place is appallingly overpriced for what they offer. I wouldn't pay more than $30/mo. I debated going back, but had such a bad experience that I don't think I will. Stay safe - - hopefully this place gets their ducks in a row. Possibly, the worst climbing gym I've ever been to. And I've climbed out of the country where they hand you shoes and a harness and go smoke a cigarette out back. And that felt more welcoming and more safe than this this CRG location.

Super happy there's a gym out here! Though it does have only bouldering routes, there's a new set every Thursday. If you're jonesing for some top rope or lead, the Watertown gym isn't far. This is the easiest-graded gym I've been to in the CRG family, but honestly that's a boon. It's the perfect place to bring friends and family who are just trying climbing out; they'll almost certainly have something to climb within their capabilities. Staff are amazing too!

This gym is awesome! Rock climbing is a great way to take the monotony out of staying in shape and this gym makes it especially fun. Staff is friendly, mats are clean, walls rotate every week, various yoga classes for all levels of experience and intensity. One of the cheaper locations to get a membership. Great workout rooms and equipment. Route setting is stellar. Strategic and challenging.

I LOVE CRG FRAMINGHAM!! I was introduced to this gym about two months ago by my friend, and now I am hooked and go almost every day. The clean facilities, friendly staff, and great walls with a wide range of problem difficulty keep me coming back as often as I do. I was able to progress from a VB to a V5 in about three short months. My school's student run rock climbing club comes every other week and they have been super welcoming to our newly started club.

Great climbing gym for bouldering. They have aerobic machines and a weight room as well. Very nice and always clean! Got my membership here and I can visit any of the CRG network gyms, which is super convenient because there are a dozen scattered throughout the greater Boston area. Friendly staff and new routes set every week keep me coming back for more! Now if only I could get better at climbing!

I've gone here for a few years now and while I can speak highly of the staff and facility as a whole I can't speak the same to the high prices (See what I did there). I've watched the prices start at 55 and raise to 75 (for 22 and under) in the matter of a couple years. I get the whole inflation thing right now but this seems way over the top. Speaking of top this gym has none, it's all bouldering. But it doesn't even have a campus board. It's so small for it's crazy prices. I honestly think the only reason this gym is bolstering a 5 star review is that most of the climbers are high school and college age and thus new to the sport. Moreover, this area seldom sees new climbing gyms and thus most people feel obligated to go to this one. I think the next closest gym is Boston. If you're thinking of starting a climbing gym I think Framingham is the place, the competition is so low but the demand seems high as the sport continues to climb in popularity. (That was the last one I promise).

We have had and are having a wonderful experience at the Central Rock Gym in Framingham. We showed up with 7 teenagers from our school and the staff at the front desk couldn't have been nicer or more helpful even when half the kids forgot one thing or another. Most of our group had not climbed before and what a great place for them to start. There are a ton of routes/problems for them to try. We have been back 5 times in 2 weeks are the kids are still trying to crack a V3 that they love. Every week there's a new wall configuration somewhere. We all love the only bouldering aspect of the gym. The staff on the climbing floor have been patient and helpful and the other climbers are all cool and helpful. It's just been great. Thank you all!

Very clean and inviting space. Great variety of different boulder problems. Friendly and helpful staff. Along with rock climbing there was ping pong and a wonderful schedule of classes.

Just started rock climbing and the gym here is great. Bouldering only, and all different difficulties to try out. The service is great at the front desk - above and beyond. When I needed to charge my phone they had no problem helping me out!

I am a member of the Worcester branch. Went to the Framingham gym twice and have not been disappointed. Fun routes. Friendly staff.

Wonderful atmosphere and mix of people. As a climber who was primarily used to climbing on ropes, I only started coming to Framingham due to its convenient location (I live less than a few miles away). I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. There's good routes with a nice variety and frequent resets. The staff is generally helpful and the manager is a great resource of information and frequently offers helpful climbing tips. Probably the best part of this gym is its atmosphere. Though it's usually busy in the evenings on any given weekday, it never feels crowded. Best of all, everyone always seems friendly and eager to help newer climbers figure out a problem.

Excellent gym with something for everybody. Climbing routes vary from beginner to advanced. Constantly changing routes so there is always something new. Great atmosphere from the staff and other members. People are always welcoming and willing to help if needed. Staff are amazing! Very clean also.

One of my favorite gyms in the MA CRG circuit! Setters do an absolutely amazing job of setting inside the box for kids and adults of all sizes.

Great bouldering gym out in Framingham — really glad to have one in my area. The routes are challenging and interesting and there’s always friendly people around to help give tips or just to commiserate about challenges we have yet to solve. This is an essential part of my week and I can’t wait to progress more and take advantage of their classes and other offerings!
