Recently
I
bought
a
brake
disc
for
my
1983
R65
twin
shock
bike.
The
ad
clearly
stated
it
would
fit
R65/80/100
twin
shock
bikes.
When
I
received
the
disc
its
offset
was
totally
different
to
the
one
it
was
replacing
(10-15mm
out).
I
contacted
WalzWerk
and
was
told
they
only
sell
one
offset
and
you
either
need
to
modify
the
set
up
you
have
or
use
a
monoshock
fork.
Nowhere
in
the
advert
does
it
mention
any
modification
being
needed.
They
even
had
the
hide
to
try
and
say
that
it
clearly
stated
it
would
fit
monoshock
only
(it
mentions
monoshock
in
a
total
different
kit
they
sell
which
is
a
4
piston
kit
which
is
1495
euro.)
Very
dodgy
indeed.
The
disc
I
received
is
good
quality
-
they
just
wont
admit
they
are
at
fault
and
Im
left
to
try
and
make
a
spacer
to
make
this
fit.
Whats
worse
is
this
brake
disc
was
a
50th
birthday
present
from
my
parents.
Well,
after
receiving
the
response
to
this
from
Walzwerk
i
wanted
to
clarify
a
couple
of
things
they
said.
Firstly
I
didn't
just
place
a
review
without
waiting
for
a
reply.
I
sent
3
emails
and
each
one
was
replied
to
but
without
offering
a
solution
to
the
problem
accept
to
say
-
just
make
up
a
spacer.
Secondly
their
advert
for
these
discs
says
-
very
easy
DIY.
I
dont
think
having
to
make
up
a
spacer
through
a
machinist
to
exact
tolerances
so
that
their
disc
would
fit
your
bike
is
exactly
an
easy
DIY
job.
I
have
spoken
to
a
metal
fabricator
here
and
the
difference
in
discs
(the
new
one
and
my
current
one)
is
13.3mm.
Steel
comes
in
14mm
thickness.
So
apart
from
having
an
exact
circle
made
in
allow
and
have
the
holes
drill
precisely
I
will
also
need
it
machined
down
by
.7mm
Thirdly
while
at
the
top
of
the
page
for
brake
discs
it
mentions
monolever
(mine
is
a
twin
shock)
as
you
scroll
down
it
has
subheadings
and
you
come
to
one
for
twin
shocks.
Under
this
you
have
the
option
to
buy
a
set
of
discs
or
just
one.
In
that
ad
it
only
mentions
that
you
will
have
to
reuse
your
original
bolts
-
which
is
fine
but
at
no
time
do
they
mention
that
they
only
sell
a
disc
with
a
shallow
offset
or
that
a
spacer
is
needed
to
make
it
fit
your
twin
shock
bike.
The
product
they
sell
is
good
as
I
mentioned
before
-
it
is
a
brembo
disc
but
they
need
to
be
clearer
in
their
ad
about
the
offset.
Other
companies
such
as
Seibenrock
are
very
clear
about
the
offset
of
their
discs
and
companys
such
as
Flatracer
in
the
UK
are
also
clear
and
respond
to
emails
with
more
information.
Im
disappointed
not
only
about
their
advert
not
being
clear
but
also
their
response
to
my
google
review
as
it
is
misleading
to
other
consumers
about
what
happened
in
my
transaction
with
them.
