😠 Unfortunately, the clinic is no longer what it was years ago. Incompetent doctors, long waiting times and appointments, etc. This hospital is also known as the last hospital you see (hospital for the dead). I don't want to say anything about hygiene, the media has already said something about that.... People often mention hospital, doctor, time, staff, appointment, wait, good, hours, doctors, long,

Unfortunately, the clinic is no longer what it was years ago. Incompetent doctors, long waiting times and appointments, etc. This hospital is also known as the last hospital you see (hospital for the dead). I don't want to say anything about hygiene, the media has already said something about that. If a doctor wants to refer me, I always tell him not to do this. And I'm not the only one who sees it that way.

University clinic of Mannheim is the biggest hospital in Rhein-Neckar Region. Stuff, Nurses, Doctors are very friendly. I gotta give 4 stars because I waited for 6 hours to get surgery, although I was told to come at 7 am, my surgery started 6 hours later.

Jesus, if you are not bleeding or dying, nobody will take you seriously there. I have been there a few times now and always the same. Does not matter what is wrong with you, the doctor will tell you to take Ibuprofen even though they can tell there is something wrong and quite serious. The emergency doctor there is basically just someone who sees if you can at least function or talk, and tells you to go home and have ibuprofen and wait for the appointment with the proper doctor after two months. Even for serious neurological matters which might deteriorate very quickly. I can understand that there are many hypochondriac people out there who seek treatment all the time, but if you can see the person in front of you really in discomfort, try to do something, not just send them home and tell them to take Ibuprofen for a few weeks. Because a broken leg might be an emergency, but a broken ear might be a more serious one if not treated immediately.

You definitely have to wait, even with an appointment it takes a long time until you are called, there are not enough staff to cope with the volume of patients

Wow, I did not have a good experience down there, the technology was outdated and we waited over 7hours. In the end, the neurologist at the ER told us that he can’t read the MRI (CD), which was a not correct, and gave us general info, he was not professional and inexperienced. I rather go to Heidelberg from now on.

i respect the work doctors and nurses put in and the whole time i was here i tried to be patient and helpful, but honestly i was in the most pain i was in my life and only a fraction of the staff was nice or even helpful. i'm aware this hospital isn't in charge of all ambulances in the city, but it's noteworthy that i waited for over 2hrs for an ambulance before giving up and calling a taxi. at the hospital, while i was hoping for some relief finally, i was instead met with rudeness, or nothing at all. after describing my debilitating symptoms, and trying to go over my previous diagnoses all the while suffering from crippling headaches and nonstop vomiting, i was put in the hallway to wait. for hours. while still throwing up. they didn't let me go to the bathroom, they didn't exchange my puke bags, i didn't get any treatment until 2 in the morning after first calling the hospital at 7pm. i remember asking for something against the nausea, and being laughed at by a nurse. i was made fun of by the EMTs at the door for coming for something that "wasn't that serious". it was a heat stroke, for the record, which can be deadly. the nurse who finally tended to me was very kind, but i wish i could say the same for the rest of the staff. i will not be returning if i can avoid it. this is all a very long review just to say: literally just drive to heidelberg uniklinik instead. i wish i did.

For every concern, no matter what part of the body, there feels like there is a separate building. Here you are an expert. Nurses and doctors very friendly and helpful. Disadvantage: very spacious, very long distances and often inconvenient

My rating does not relate to the staff. The doctors and nurses were very nice and took their time. However, when I entered the ward, I could hardly believe the condition this hospital was in. Without exaggeration it can be described as a shithole. I have never experienced such poor hygiene conditions in any medical facility. It was with a heavy heart that I canceled my operation and had to leave the hospital that night. The university has made it its mission to conduct research towards the discovery of new hospital germs. It should also be said that the food is inedible.

I am always very satisfied here; in recent years I have had orthopedic (knee), gynecological and gallbladder operations... The warm food on station is really good to eat, even hot. There is almost too much choice of menu, for all 3 meals... I also really like the cafeteria in the patient center.

In orthopedics, patients are called in from 8:20 a.m., knowing that the first doctor will arrive around 9:00 a.m. This ensures long waiting times right from the start so that the doctors are always fully utilized. The staff clearly doesn't care about patients' time. Appointments are therefore nothing but smoke and mirrors, waiting times >60 minutes are the rule.

I've been an inpatient here in neurology for a week and can't fully understand the negative comments. Of course, the food isn't great and things don't always go smoothly, especially when it comes to communication between departments. But you have to lower your expectations a little, you're in the hospital and you're not the only patient. I still have the feeling that everyone is making an effort here. The fact that clinics are underfunded and there is a lack of staff is not something the staff can do about it. Constructive feedback on the food: It's okay, but unfortunately there's very little fresh stuff. How about carrot sticks or other vegetables for dinner? Don't eat it and you'll have a few vitamins with you.

I praise GOD that I was sent to UMM. They provide excellent health care. I count myself blessed to have met the finest and most caring staff in this hospital. More power to the UMM Family.

I am very disappointed in the behavior of a doctor. I was treated like a little fat child (I'm over 40). I had to wait 4 hours (despite an appointment) to then listen to various rude things. I understand that you are stressed, but you shouldn't take it out on your patients and especially not as a professor. This will also result in a complaint. You don't go to the clinic for fun, but to get clarity. I will no longer allow myself to be transferred there.

The doctors are really top and know what they are doing. The nurses are professional and do their difficult job great! But unfortunately the nursing staff is subpar... If you can't properly measure a small child's fever at the ear, and the child was glowing and had a fever of over 39, as the nurse later measured it correctly, then you're so useless here . I understand that it is very difficult to find professional employees these days, but the nurses I have seen here should be thrown out on the street.

My son was born at this hospital in 1994 and it was not a good experience i should've gone to the military hospital And in 2005 my father died in this hospital I had a hard time getting those nurses to tell me what was going on since I was at the time in the USA my mom told them that I will be calling but nobody wanted to answer my questions 💔 so I'm not to fond of this hospital

I would love to tell that the most comments already made are wrong, but unfortunately I can't. For self-experience, the emergency room is first of all confusing. And then, although the people who received me were friendly, the doctor was not. Put psychological pressure on me, who had already enough psychological pressure from the long discomfort and pain. He was very clumsy and unfriendly, and looked like he didn't enjoy his job at all. Also, tried to explain to me that emergency is in case of life threatening issues. So, I guess if I am in the beginning of an illness, and I want to avoid it to become a life threatening issue, I should not come... I should wait until it goes to a more severe state to cure it? I honestly have heard already about emergency rooms rejecting sick people in Germany, because it is not severe enough and they suggest to look for a private doctor. I did before coming here, what I didn't know was that calling a private doctor was not enough, I really needed to go directly to a doctor office, so they can make an appointment on the same date, if they think it is needed (it was needed for me) - exchange/international student advice! So I was not able to find a doctor that cured me quickly and in despair I went here. In the end, the doctor gave me medicine that didn't cure me, only made the pain better. I had to go to a Private doctor 2 weeks after for the same issue. It is my second time in Germany, and before I only had good experiences where I went - Wiesbaden public hospital. Right now, I am very disappointed. I don't understand why they are one of the top national hospitals. Not for emergencies of my kind. [Frauenklinik Notfall] In our daily life, many of us end up to have jobs that we don't like so much and are only there to help us financially. However, this should not be the case in a hospital. In a hospital you should like to help people and care for them. Even if someone goes there without a real physical health issue, they probably have a psychological one. Don't pretend that the pain doesn't exist. You settled for this. High levels of education exist so we can choose to work on something we are passionated about.

Very friendly staff at all levels: nurses, doctors, assistants. Competent help. I was there twice within 10 years for various life-threatening illnesses. Not only was I helped (I'm still in this world!), I also always felt in good hands and safe there. I can only speak about urology and neurology and can recommend it without hesitation. The food, which people often complain about, is also very good and the friendly staff are very helpful if you have any problems.

Hi All, I recently had a surgery here and i would like to share my experience: First of all I felt very well looked after during my 4 days / 3 nights stay, by the professional and really friendly team of the hospital. Doctors are the best as well as the nurses, they answered all my questions and made sure that I feel safe and I know that I will be okay! - and my surgery went very well too! For them the Nr. 1 priority is the good health of the patient, and for that they are ready to go the extra miles any time, over and beyond! On the scale of hospital cuisines must say that the food was also good: the dishes were decent and tasty with unlimited coffee/ tee and water. :) Overall I highly recommend this hospital to anyone! Big thanks again for the help & support and kindness for the Team!! Kindest regards, Martin

An annoying clinic, with few patients the time you have to wait for an appointment is enormous. In addition, the results you get from the doctor are very often incorrect, so you often have to go to the clinic several times to find out exactly what the injury is. Overall, it's just cheeky and incredibly time-consuming.

Due to surgery, I had to visit the hospital twice in the span of one week. First, for a “check-in” appointment on Monday, and later on Thursday for surgery. Both times I had to wait between 3-4 hours for my appointment, after repeatedly calling to ask at what time they need me to be there. The reasoning given to me by the hospital staff can equally be explained with non-existent communication between different departments in the hospital. Overall I had a terrible experience and will most definitely avoid this hospital in the future.
