Very nice view of Trifels Castle too. Better view than from the Martins Tower, but no roof. A little further down there is also good seating at the Rehbergquelle, I think there was only a bench up near the tower. Conclusion: It's nice that something like this still exists without opening hours and for free. I would come here again.

More than a destination of its own, even if the tower is impressive and it is in a great maintenance status and one can still go up the tower, there are so many possibilities to include this tower in hikes in the area, just one example of the great options in the Palatinate Forest. One more hint, there are views of the Burg Trifels from the ground level, and 360 degree views from atop the tower as expected.

Beautiful views and an entertaining walk to the tower. 1.5 km from the parking lot. A little steeper climb at the beginning, but really manageable. Well signposted. In summer you should keep in mind that it is darker in the forest because the trees are very dense. We were well before sunset, but it was already dark in the forest
