This gym is always in some state of disrepair. Not even sure writing this is worth it except to warn perspective members from joining here. If I didn’t work around the block I would not come here at all. Much of the equipment is either missing pins or constantly broken. Benches and seats are torn. It’s clear owner has no money or is beyond cheap to address many issues that are here. Front door has been broken for many months which is a great first message that they don’t care about how their place looks.

Tried to cancel for over a year, sent in a certified letter several times and I'm still being charged $45.99. The staff is extremely unhelpful and every time I call its a brand new story of how me (the customer) didn't jump through enough hoops to ensure my membership was canceled, even though I call every few weeks with no resolve. Now after months of waiting I was told this morning I was to bring my receipt of my certified letter to the location to prove I canceled even though in the system it reflects as a cancelation. This is the worst experience, there's no corporate number but when they need their money they hounded me during the pandemic for back pay from a number which no longer works. Do NOT JOIN THIS GYM, YouTube is free and the customer service is so much better, the Hempstead location is trash any way.

Before COVID I was a member and then when things started to settle down somewhat Synergy was back charging my account monthly even though I was still not going back to the gym. They never reached out to see if people were ready to come back or not. After months passed and I was still being charged monthly gym fees, I finally went into the gym to cancel my membership and was told that I had to write a letter and send it certified mail to a PO Box. COVID was still an issue and I sent a letter but didn't mail it certified since I wasn't going to stores or places unnecessarily. I have now received a letter from a collections agency and they still want more money. How can a place give you a membership in person when you walk in, but they can not cancel your membership without making you jump through hoops. This whole process they have is just a way for them to keep charging your credit card. As a business you should be ashamed of yourselves. Just know that I had to click on 1 star just to finish and post this when in reality Synergy doesn't deserve any stars. We have all gone through a time that no one could have ever anticipated and for you to have no regard to help your members is terrible.

You can tell owners are super cheap, windows have been broken for years. Machine grips are in horrible condition, seems like they only fix a machine if it’s totally not functioning. If the owners see this please maintain your equipment and fix the minor stuff around the gym. Show that you care for your business and not in it just for some cash flow

This might be the worst gym I’ve ever entered. I couldn’t stop laughing looking at the rust weights, steampunk looking ceilings and falling apart walls. The old white dude at the front desk HOW DO YOU HAVE A JOB. Easily the most useless human of all time NEVER GO HERE. 30 bucks a month to use weights from the Stone Age 0/10

I wish I could give negative stars, this was a COMPLETE and UTTER rip off. I joined the gym in December of 2021 with the promise that the "New renovated" gym across the street would be available the following month in January. They even had some fugasy pictures they showed me of the interior. It's November of 2022 and I haven't even seen people ENTER the "New" building to do any sort of work, let alone open. In fact nothing has changed about the building AT ALL. And to cancel you have to jump through hoops, sending letters and calling to see if the letter was received, etc. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT JOIN THIS "GYM."

Gym is practically abandoned , most of the equipment needs repairs and upgrades, the facility lacks of repairs , broken windows in the front, paint is peeling, etc etc, the only reason that keeps me going is located 3 blocks from home .

Wow im reading the reviews this gym located in Franklin Square is the biggest ripoff. Im not the only one that got scammed by this place. First of all its dirty with alot of broken machines. I was a member for maybe 2 years and paid membership fees once a year which are supposed to be used to fix machines i would think. Same old broken machines. One month they told me my debit card didnt go thru on the first i dont know why an then they charged me a late fee. Then the next month tried to charge me double so i sent in a certified letter to cancel my membership they didnt get it i sent it again thry didnt get it an they just kept on charging me that i had to get a new debit card so they would stop. Then it went to collections an i get a letter for $250. I cancelled my membership please do your self a favor dont join this gym!!!

Good equipment, but I hope you never need to cancel your membership because that's when your nightmare will begin. they do EVERYTHING to make it difficult to cancel. They require you to send a registered letter by post and you still have to wait another 30 days for full cancellation and in the meantime you continue paying. in addition to saying that he did not receive the registered letter. I had to send 2 registered letters requesting cancellation and during this period of 3 months they charged me the monthly fee, not to mention that when registering they did not warn that there would be a fee of 50 dollars after 3 months. In short, I went to this gym for 2 days and I have to pay 4 months of membership on top of this $50 fee. But your nightmare isn't over yet, send your name to a collections company that treats you with so much contempt and makes several threats. If you don't lose weight from running, expect that you will lose weight from stress.

Broken machines, messy and dirty. Televisions are off because they didn't pay the Direct TV bill.

It's a good place with most of the machines working but many machines need repairs. Music needs to be consistent and loud enough. Vending machines don't work all the time and water dispenser needs fixing.

My brother went to the gym for a couple months but decided to cancel it. The gym canceled it and told my mom to tell the bank. What they didn't tell her is that she had to send a letter to some headquarters to cancel it through there! My brother hasn't been to this gym in over a year yet they sent a bill to collections and has to pay over $300 in a bill... Didn't tell my mom anything and is now forced to pay a bill for a gym my brother no longer goes to. Never sign up for this gym unless you want to get scammed!

Honestly I love this gym. It has so many varieties of machines and is not too crowded. Members do not hog the machines which is amazing. The only thing I could say is hat the locker rooms could use some updating. Other then that I really cannot complain especially with how affordable monthly membership is.

I've been a member for 15+years and nothing has changed. Except the hours. This was a 24 hour gym pre-covid. Why haven't the hours changed back? Weekends are shorter hours as well. Extended hours would be a good start. Your lack of customer satisfaction being first priority as previously mentioned is not a priority for this place at all. Machines are always broken and countless complaints to the front desk nothing gets fixed. The only change after countless complaints was they removed the machine. One way to take care of the problem. It gets better, this place will give a free skylight with black toxic mold with your membership. When it rains outside it rains inside free of charge should be on the contract. It's a shame the potential is there but accountable and a commitment to their business is not. Don't join this gym.

I had been a synergy franklin square fitness customer for 10+ years. In january 2023 my debit card was replaced due to fraud. subsequently, The gym did not receive payment for four months. The gym never called me, The gym never sent me a letter. The gym closed my account and sent me to collections. Only after several attempts did i speak with the gym manager, who had no answers on this matter. The total collection amount was erroneous. I submitted payment for the missing months and wrote a dispute letter, but the collection agency is still looking for an additional $89 but they have no person in their company to speak with. Synergy is not a business that i would recommend to others

Prejudice area, but decent equipment. And far better than valencia fitness in elmont at least this place has a real locker room. Leg presses and bench presses are down stairs spaced well enough to have personal space. If your in the area take the 5 min drive to this spot and not smelly unvented and cramped Valencia ran an operated by a racist Italian. From where? howard beach of course.

As of 2023, Reducing to 2 Stars. A lot has changed since COVID. Folks are friendly, but I see no improvement to the facility. Mats in the basement room are gone, this means you can't stretch etc. The place feels backward now. Synergy needs to up their game. On top of that, their cancellation process is terrible that you got to mail-in letter using registered mail Originally I did 4 Stars - I love this gym, but this isn't 24 hours technically. Opens 5:30am on Monday and Sat and Sun 6:30am and closes at 10pm on Sat and Sun.

This gym is more of a high school hangout rather then a gym. Kids everywhere not using the weights or machines correctly. Mostly it's a selfy studio. At least if you want to call your self a gym keep your free weight area in control. Again kids throw the weights on the ground and refuse to put them back as mommy & Daddy must do at home. Come to think of it they don't call themselves a gym. To bad they don't even understand what synergy means, the "cooperation" of two or more to create a greater sum then their separate effects. Meaning all gym members come together to form a better gym. This is not the gym they were hoping for. It should be called the playpen! Avoid at all costs. But if you must go early and leave especially before detention class let's out and they show up with their phones and links to everything from "how to look stupid at the gym:, follow me at "disorderly while ignoring the rules" and "how I go to the gym everyday take great selfies and still I'm out of shape after two years".

Comfortable and clean, rarely long wait times for equipment. Only complaint is the difficulty I have had canceling my month-to-month membership which was due to relocating out of the area.

DON’T JOIN THIS GYM. Save yourself a whole lot of needless stress and aggravation. I joined this gym about 7 years ago found myself going maybe 5 times. After years of paying and not using the facility I went in person to cancel as that is how I signed up. I was told that the request had to be mailed in, I was not advised of the cancellation process when I signed up. At some point my credit card had to be replaced and months later I received a call saying that I owed money and that the account was still open, they claim they never received the letter. So I paid my account to make it current. I sent a second letter requesting cancellation. Fast forward to the present my cancellation request was never processed I once again have a balance this time it went to collections I received no correspondence advising me of the account being in collections. I only found out about this by reviewing my credit report which is insane. This company’s policies are deceptive they purposefully and willfully make the cancellation process long and difficult so that they can continue to collect money from their clients. I am a full time working mom of four that’s doesn’t have the time and mind to keep checking if the gym I never barely used had the courtesy of honoring my cancellation request. This is not the first gym membership I had to cancel my previous gym that was just to far to travel gave me now issues. I called they canceled over the phone and advised me that it takes a month so I would be billed one more time which was not a problem to me. But with SYNERGY it took me 3 YEAR to cancel and it’s only now cancelled because it went into collections… it’s a sad pathetic company. And now Im stuck with my first and only stain on my credit due to their shady deceptive practices.

Avoid and do not do business with!! been trying over two months to cancel membership. Walked in to sign up, I was told to put it in writing send certified. Did this, still have reoccurring charge on my credit card. Charges are being disputed people at the synergy desk are useless robots repeating same cancelation process. Westpark fitness inc Corp. who apparently is the holding people for this gym no address no phone number.., now involving an attorney, launching an investigation and have contacted the Better Business Bureau! very bad business for the community. ADDENDUM TO YOUR RESPONSE: Attempts to meet management resulted in unreturned phone calls. You sent a stereotypical response that you have sent to all the other bad reviews and all the other complaints about hard-working people trying to get their moneys back for canceled membership. I am very well aware of the contract I signed and have complied with everyone of your cancellation policies you have still unsuccessfully responded and or canceled membership. You can now deal with my attorney and the Better Business Bureau Addendum 2/1/ 2024 STILL refuse to cancel my daughters membership claiming they never received certified letters twice they requested. Sent my minor daughter a letter threatening collections...true criminals destroying credit of minors before they establish credit. Retained an attorney! disgusting business bad for our community!
