We were promptly seated. We liked that we were able to have a conversation without the next table overheating. Loved that they were able to seat several large parties without an issue. Our server, young lady with blond hair was very professional and friendly. Loved that the order was taken and delivered efficiently. The food presentation was nice. Hamburger cooked well and both meals were hot where applicable. Our server checked on us repeatedly. Presented out check with a wonderful smile.

I am never coming to this diner again and would advise others not to do so either. I wish I could give this place zero stars. The last time I ate here the food was bland at best. It does come come up to par with the regular diner food quality you’d expect. The food was not even cooked all the way through and I was served raw onions and peppers with my meal. On top of that, I found a random piece of chicken in my food that did not belong there as there was only supposed to be corned beef. I found it to be insulting that they would think it’s okay to serve to people food like that. The servers are not very friendly either and were not sympathetic to my situation. The manager of the place was very rude and defensive when I said I had a problem with my order. I heard this place used to be good, but clearly it isn’t anymore. Please don’t waste your money to buy food from here.

Great 24 hour diner. Homemade chicken tenders delish. Nice fresh smoked salmon. Homemade onion rings. Nice and clean in this restaurant. Bathrooms spotless. Will come back when in area.

As we live in center Jersey area - my wife and I enjoy breakfast with rising sun views. The Somerset Dinner is on the Easton road and we find it is a great place to eat and enjoy early morning 🌄 From the entry porch to inside the place is very clean, organized and lighted with art. The staffs are welcoming and friendly. About food this place offers a variety of delicious food items, deserts and coffee. We liked the food we ordered, but have a feeling that foods could be more tasty ( less dried) We wish you will overall enjoy this place. They operate to serve you 24/7 😊

Came in from out of state and decided to try this place. I Ordered steak and eggs. It was all good except the potatoes. I had to request extra napkins, and more drinks. Server passed by and saw it was empty but never stopped to ask. When I asked for more drink she said it’s not free refill. I guess that is why she thought I was going to finish eating without refilling my drink?

There aren’t enough 24 hour diners so I can forgive a lot. Chicken and waffles were great, mozzarella sticks were amazing, my server was also great! Overall a great experience especially for how late I went to eat, around midnight. I did get cake on the way out that I wasn’t blown away by but I went there for dinner not dessert so I didn’t mind.

Overall, not a bad place. There were 5 of us and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. The service, on the other hand, was unacceptable. I think the person was new. My husband's order was not prepared as he requested. We informed our server, she rolled her eyes and sighed. She made a hand gesture, the one you make when you tell someone to give you something. Hand out, fingers opening and closing and then shaking her hand up and down, like she was frustrated. We finished eating and she didn't come to remove the plates until her lead/boss told her to. I'll give this place another try because I did enjoy my food; however, I definitely will not sit in this server's area again.

My husband and I stopped here while on a roadtrip and are SO glad we did. The food was delicious. The vintage diner vibe was in full effect with the decor as well as how friendly and fun the staff was. If we're driving through in the future we'll definitely be stopping. We had burgers (pizza burger and I don't remember the name of the other), fries, and a chocolate milkshake. Would recommend all!

I've grown up driving past this diner my whole life and finally got the opportunity to go. Overall it was a very good experience. I went on a Friday night around 7 and yet service was quick and we were seated quickly. Our server Matthew was very polite, friendly and helpful. The menu had a great variety of options and seemed very reasonably priced. They even have a Rutgers student discount which was great. I ordered a breakfast skillet and a milkshake. The food quality was fine, but a little lackluster in flavor. The experience and environment on the other hand were great, and my friends and I felt right at home. While the food won't blow you away, the cozy environment and great service result in a great experience.

I placed my order. When my plate came out I asked the waiter a question and he was not sure of the answer and went to check with the kitchen. I opted to pay for my coffee and leave because I was not happy with the answer. The manager came over and asked if I wanted to order something else that it would not be a problem. My new breakfast plate came out and it was great. So overall my experience was great thanks to the waiter and manager understanding my concerns. YES I recommend going to this Diner. They make sure you are happy. Please keep up the good work!

My first Diner Experience in New JERSEY.., ice cold left over food was served to us... I ordered Open Face Roast Beef and it was Overcooked and stale.. horrible and worst... My son Ordered Chicken Parmasean for $26 dollars and it came as a frozen patty... I'm actually going to call in and demand a refund.. I'm feeling sick from the Open face roast beef

The food was delicious! We especially loved the disco fries. It’s one of the only 24/7 diners left in New Jersey and it still holds its retro diner feel

This place has been around for a long time and it’s one of my go to spots for lunch and breakfast. The food can be hit or miss- I guess it depends on who’s cooking. They have an excellent Turkey burger. I had the grilled chicken gyro on my most recent visit and it was good but they did not the white sauce with the gyro.

There was no waiting for a seat. But the wait began and was forever lasting then on. To get the drinks order was a long wait thanks to our waiter. He placed the waters on the table without straws, then we waited til he brung out the drink order without straws. Then waited for him to come back to take a sip. There was a long wait for him to return to get our orders. You get the theme of my review? Ok continuing, once the order was placed we did not get our food for about 35 minutes later. Of course it's upsetting when you see others who arrive after get their food, eat, get the check and leave as you just 'wait'. The waiter didn't check on us not once. I eventually got up to make a complaint about the wait which food arrived 10 minutes later. This time by a new waiter who was so attentive and checked on us for once he brought the food out. The old waiter stood to the side and watched us eat bless his heart. Anyway, we enjoyed the food to our surprise... but the service left such a bad taste in our mouth that this will be the first/last time to make a good impression Somerset Diner. 2 stars for the food but nothing for the service.

My party and I arrived at the diner just after a busy dinner rush. The service was swift, as the host made sure to let us know that it'd be a minute to rearrange tables to accommodate our group's size. Shortly after our group was situated, our server Matthew came by with waters and took drink orders. In addition to being patient with people's hesitations, our server helped set a casual and friendly mood for the meal. When it came to the preparation time, our dishes came out from the kitchen within 15 minutes. The quality of the food was great and met all expectations of what diner food usually is. The price for most dishes ranged from $10-15. I got a Basted Eggs dish and I would recommend this spot for people interested in fast, quality breakfast food at any point in the day,

Good quality food! Friendly and welcoming service. The toast that came with the omelette was burnt though! Moderate prices and good portions

This Diner was 7 minutes from our Hotel( Hilton Homewood suites in Somerset). The food and service were so good we ate there THREE times !!!! My husband loved the pancakes and I loved the waffles !!! Fresh-cut potatoes for homefries!! If your food is wrong they take it back, no problem!!! No, wait!!! Breakfast was about 24.00 bucks for dinner and dinner was about 40.00. Looks old and outdated on the outside but very nice interior!! BYOB til 2 am. I recommend trying this Diner over a franchise if you are ever in somerset. MG from Delaware.

HORRIBLE! I order a burger but instead I got raw meat! If I wanted raw meat I would have invested my money into buying one at ShopRite! Disgusting! How do you give people food like this! Never again!!!!!

The food we had was delicious & plentiful. We only ate 1/2 or orders. We had a wrap, Ruben, skillet and Pastrami Sandwich. They were huge, enough for a 2nd meal. The cakes looked delicious but no room; next time. We will be back!

Excellent service. Delicious food. There were 15 people in our group. Our waitress was wonderful. I had the Tropical Belgium Waffle and it was so good!

My wife and I had lunch there on the weekend. Service was good, but food was mediocre for the price. Wife's beef orzo soup was OK but greasy, and my bowl of chili was basically just ground beef and beans - no spice, zero tomatoes, and very bland! Will probably not go back.

Soup was very good and my hamburger was large. The diner looked very clean and they were painting the ceiling while we ate. That took away from us having a very good experience. Our server had a great personality and did an excellent job tending to our needs.

Our waiter Mathew was great and friendly, got all our orders right even though our group was dysfunctional haha and while being swamped with tables. Couldn’t have asked for a better waiter 10/10!!! The food was awesome and the vibe of the diner is super chill. My friends and I made a good decision coming here after our concert!

The food was good and the service was fantastic. I had the French dip with the sweet potato fries. The sandwich was very good, but some of the fries came out cool, not hot. The atmosphere was alright, but there are better looking diners out there. Overall a very good experience. 4 stars.

This place is great with friendly service. We walked in and were seated promptly by the manager. The server, Jeff, was really friendly and he made sure our drinks were always filled. We came in at about 11pm. We traveled with the kids all day since a 6 am flight. After the travel and all kinds of activities this was our first hot meal. Kid's meal burger and fries was great. Our 10 year old loved the fries. Our teenager got the chicken strips and also enjoyed the fries. The have a crisped exterior. My wife and I both got the country egg breakfast with hashbrowns, sausage, and bagel. The cook did a great job with the over easy eggs and the sausage was crisped just right. The diner is clean and classy looking. This is worth a stop and open 24 hours.

Sommerset Diner more like SomMIDset Diner 🌛🌜🌗🌝Let me start off this review with a quote🤪. Dr. Seuss once said “Green Eggs and Ham⁉️⁉️”. 🌺🌺🌺However, unlike being in a book, I didn’t expect to see green food from this diner. 💀🔥⁉️Prior to visiting this diner, I visited Time to Eat MID diner🥺🥺🥺. Contrary to popular belief, I found this diner even more MID. 😭😭😭Whilst sinking my teeth into this meal, I found myself engaging in the activity of chewing my plate🔥🤒🥱. ⚡️✨🔥⛅️Whilst chewing my plate, I experienced significant discomfort as the fluidity of the plate bypassed what was the assumed viscosity✅✅✅. A key factor in my review comes from the horrid fork I was given. 🌪️🌪️My forks happened to be bent at a 46 degree angle rather than 45.😂❤️😂 This allotted to me slicing through several pairs of dentures. 🍟🍟🍟🥟My eyes began to water and fill with tears. 🍢🍚🍦As Juliet once said, “Romeo o romeo where are thoust romeo”. 🌯🌯🍥In parallel to this quote, I wondered where are thoust good food. 🥂🥂🥂Unlike what I thought, Sommerset diner was more like sommid diner.😾😾😾😾
