Delicious food - try number 3 on the menu! Service very good. I've actually walked in the back entrance straight into their kitchen by mistake once and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and order they keep it. The manager is a nice guy and attentive. I highly recommend!

Food was good. Flies were the problem. We spent our entire time there swatting them away. Service was pleasant but slow. No one came when we finished our meals. We had to find them to pay! What made it more maddening was that we were the only customers!

Great food. Out of the 3 Indian restaurants in Pukekohe, I would say, this has the best tasting food (for now at least)! Try their lamb biriyani, very flavourful but not overly spicy/hot. Also, try their bhindi dopiaza if you are looking for something vegetarian! You can always ask them to make the dishes mild if you prefer. Hope they keep up the quality & delicious taste of the food they prepare.

I just ordered noodles from them. Noodles were worst ,although I had ordered vegetarian and the smell of rotten egg comes off. Very bad experience, they add lot of colour to noodles with no taste and they charge us more like 18 dollars for blande noodles ..Never ever visit again...No recommendation ..

i love this restaurant. it’s better than curry leaf and ginger more space and quite service was awesome . guy talk very nice and he have no attitude, last week i went ginger omg his owner has no manner how to talk customer, first time i visit this restaurant. i love the service

One of the worst chicken biryani i have eaten soo far in nz at shalimar..they just put food color and normal rice not the long basmati rice which should be for all biryani..no taste etc very bad biryani..not recommend

Been here a lot, I usually order the chilli chicken and it is usually a little different from time to time but normally very good, tonight it was very different to normal, very much just tasted like a hot sauce and not a gravy as such, the naan was not what it's normally like it was hard and dry, I don't like saying these things as I refer to Shalimar as pukekohe's best, I'll be back for sure thinking it was just a bad night for them. Service was very good.

Really beautiful clean restaurant with welcoming staff . Only got takeout this time got some butter chicken and it was beautiful! So rich and creamy and very tasty,plenty of juicy chicken pieces very generous I don't usually finish everything but I ate myself sick cause I couldn't stop eating it. Also when asked for cutlery they went the extra mile to provide a lil bowl which I thought was a nice little touch. Will definitely be back again ☺️

Even though there was noone else there it took a while to wait for the food. The chicken was dry after being grilled and put in sauce which didn't help the dry chewy nature of the meat. The flavours were intensely beautiful with the light fluffy Nan bread was very tasty

Being a regular at one of the other Indian establishments in Pukekohe it took me a while to try this place but I’ve been coming here a lot lately and it safe to say it’s my new go to. Delicious and consistent. Entrees and mains.

John was an awesome host! Food was great! We had the chilli chicken, aloo naan, tandoori platter all was cooked to perfection will be our go to from now on, compliments to the chef and John (waiter)

Had takeaway from here last nice, curries were delicious. Husband had the Goat curry Medium and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was hot, tasty, plenty of meat and the Naan was fresh and delicious too. Very happy 😊 thanks
