The haunted house and its actors provided an unforgettable and thrilling experience, earning high praise. However, I must address my disappointment with the receptionist, who left a lasting negative impression. The haunted house itself was exceptional, with a well-designed layout and a dedicated team of actors who demonstrated a genuine passion for their craft. Their commitment to creating a spine-chilling atmosphere truly added to the overall enjoyment of the visit. Kudos to the staff for their creativity and enthusiasm. Unfortunately, the receptionist's attitude was a significant downside to an otherwise fantastic experience. I encountered what I can only describe as rude and ridiculous behavior, which detracted from the welcoming atmosphere the rest of the team worked hard to establish. It's disheartening to see such a contrast between the exceptional efforts of the haunted house team and the lackluster service at the reception. Despite the unpleasant encounter with the receptionist, I believe the haunted house experience deserves high praise, and the staff and actors should be commended for their dedication. Therefore I've chosen to rate Spookers with 4 out of 5. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback, emphasising the need for improvement in the reception area while highlighting the outstanding work done by the rest of the team.

I recently took my husband to Spookers for his first time (he was over from Japan for a week) and we had an absolute blast! The house, forest, and disturbia were all so much fun and filled with plenty of scares. The actors did a fantastic job and really added to the experience. We were also happy to find that our ticket price included a souvenir photo, which was a nice touch. The cafe on site had drinks that were reasonably priced, which was a nice bonus. Overall, we had a great night at Spookers and I'm looking forward to returning in the future. I've been to this theme park a few times before and it always manages to surprise me with new and exciting elements, so I never know what to expect. If you're a fan of haunted attractions, I highly recommend giving Spookers a try!

First time going and it was fun! Personally I loved the set designs most, they're visually stunning and feel as though there's lore hidden in each room. The Scarers are pretty chill people out of character and you can have a good yarn with them too. Got jumped a few times when I didn't expect it. I would definitely recommend trying the forest last.

We had to queue for 40 minutes to get in and once we got in we had to queue for another 30 minutes to get into the first haunted house. Once we got going it was a lot of fun and plenty of screams were had. The biggest let down was the end of the evening. We got to 'The Woods' at 9.30pm and stood in a line until 10.45pm. There was no communication from staff as to why such a long wait, the line didn't move and it was late and freezing cold. If we'd known it would've been that long a wait we would have left as it wasn't worth it. I would recommend Spookers if you didn't have to queue for so long, but the long, long wait to get in to each area was a Buzz kill. It was Easter so maybe this was an extraordinarily busy time, but even so the staff did not seem prepared for this.

Had a great time ! Staff were friendly and often frightening. The best attraction for me personally was the haunted house, closely followed by the woods. I would reccomend that the fog has an update. But it's the perfect place to hang out with your mates !

Awesome time this is my second time going this time taking my 14 year old son and 13 year old daughter. Unfortunately while brave enough before getting there once arriving my daughter couldn't even handle the line up 🤣🤣. Super scared so she spent the night in the cafe with mum while me and our son went around having a great and frightful time. All the actors are great and there was many many frights to be had through out the night. While it says 830 that is merely the end for buying tickets roughly and the night continues until everyone has gotten through so it was nice and dark by the time we went through the woods. Thanks for a great night and we will be back as soon as we can

They have three attractions to go to. The Haunted forest, Disturbia and the haunted house. We started with the forest and it requires a flashlight (a phone light isn't good enough but you can buy one at the counter for $10). The atmosphere was quite spooky and you could hear sporadic screaming. The path was quite good and fairly easy to navigate even with only 1 torch. Keep your eyes open cause they always pop out of nowhere. We went to the house afterwards since the entrance was by the exit of the haunted house. Nice props but most of them were the same as before although the people were different and where they popped up were also different so there were a few jumps there. The last one was disturbia. The entry is across the hall from the entrance. you wear 3D glasses and the paintings all pop out at you. It was quite an interesting experience walking through wall paintings that seem to pop out, as well as a few people every now and then. i thought that the paintings were really good and spent a while mesmerised at them. There are a few flashing lights which may be problematic for epileptics. I thought the end bit of this was the best! We also were able to go into a dark container filled with air bags at the end of this. The info they gave at the attractions were similar but they had quite good variations so it kept you interested. There were also a few friendly zombies/ghosts roaming around that were friendly enough to chat to. Been here a few time and it is always better/more entertaining to go with people who get a bit scared (but not too much or it has the opposite effect).

Fun night with the kids (13 and over) admittedly it was a little difficult navigating the driveway into the theme park in total darkness as a first timer. Parking is at a premium especially if you're driving a vehicle that has a low clearance to the ground. The staff do direct larger vehicles to park onto the glassy areas whilst directing small low clearances to utilize the fairly limited parking on the gravel area in front of the entrance. Tip: if you can; come early for gravel parking. One suggestion is to do 'The fog' first before you do any of the other ones as the fog is almost like an intro to what to expect for the night. Love how the staff kept in character and kept us entertained whilst we waited in line. Explained the rules/what to expect during the experience. Bring a flashlight as one of the experience aka 'The Woods' will require a flashlight to navigate the dark paths. If you're sensitive to flickering lights - be warned. This place may not be suitable for you. There is a cafe that sells hot and cold quick bites and an array of drinks including alcohol. $6 for a 20oz (600ml) bottle of soda so if I suggest you bring your own beverages and store them in the car and pop out to the carpark for a quick drink.

Great experience of being scared, great customer service, and excellent food, esp the pizzas. Great place to conquer your feeling of fear. We have a great time as a family. Totally recommended to anyone.

Me and my friends went to there at Easter Sunday night. It was an excellent and fun experience! Specially the actor was sitting in the “real” water in the FOG, it looks really scared. hope she was not getting cold and really appreciate the show!

Our evening started off with a bang, the ever so hospital Hannah at the bar took care of our group throughout the entire duration of our evening. The actors and actresses in the attractions were witty, playful and spontaneous. A true delight for a Halloween experience. Great mechanics, service and hospitality. 10/10 Can't wait to come back.

I couldn't resist getting the google reviews to 900. I've been to Spooker's a few times and always had a great night. The actors are amazing, its one of the best entertainment nights anywhere in NZ. Its not often that a grown man can run away screaming without feeling ashamed.

I was excited to bring my daughter and her friends for my daughter's birthday. Was a good night, some changes since the last time I had been. We were really excited to try the hellevator and fog. The line was pretty long so we waited for more than 30minutes. We were told that we were going underground and it might take 20-30minutes to get out. We stood in the "elevator" for a few seconds while the actor shook it. Then we were let off amd made to walk to the back of the shipping container and put the back. That was it... it was beyond disappointing. The rest was ok, worth doing once.

I have been twice in less than a year. The first time I went with my partner and a couple of friends. Everything went well but they kept forcing us to go to the "fog" at the end, which we thought would be the best attraction and that's why they were leaving it for last. It was disappointing that after almost half an hour waiting, it was only 10-15 seconds and we were out. One of my friends asked the person at the entrance if that was all, in English and Spanish and the person only answered that they only spoke English there. I personally find that it was the most racist comment that someone from overseas can hear. Last weekend we went again, this time with my partner, my son and my sister-in-law. This time we could choose the order of the attractions. We leave the fog for the one before the lastone. The person in charge was doing a Russian or German accent, it was hard to tell and also hard to understand her. She delivered the instructions inside the attraction and not outside like the others. We couldn't understand anything and it was hard to hear what she was saying. So when we got out of the elevator, she stopped us saying to listen to the instructions, she yelled to us. She then went out of character and threatened to kick us off the premises if we didn't follow instructions. Obviously the fog was a total disappointment, practically in and out in no more than 10 seconds. From that minute the atmosphere between us changed and we felt that this person ruined our night. in the haunted house the person near the end, the one with the machete, made very questionable comments towards my underage sister-in-law, comments that bordered on scaring people or just making them feel uncomfortable. Besides, he should be more careful with that machete. Even though it's dull, it almost hit me in the face. In general, the fog is not worth it and they should improve it or just remove it from the themes, it is not worth it. Workers should have a better customer service culture. Some of them treat people with no respect and loudly. It's not worth what you pay and the distance you have to drive there for that kind of thing to keep happening. What I can say to those that are planning on going. Don't brother, it's not worth it the money and time.

Loved it! Did the early tour with our guide "Kevin" for my 9 year olds birthday. He was awesome. Gave them a little fright when they started to get lippy, but backed off when they started to get scared to perfection.

  • 1/5 Priyanka P. 5 months ago on Google
I went there the weekend before Halloween this year and what a freaking disappointment it was. Waste of money in my opinion. The fog is the worst attraction ever! 10 secs and we’re done 😂. The last time I went was in 2017 and it was so much better. I get that covid has ruined a lot of things but the experience should be the same considering it’s more expensive now. Back in 2017 they use to have bands with tags on and after each attraction they’d rip the tag off the band but now they have paper bands and cross it off with a pen.. I definitely won’t be going back unless things change and go back to what it was like 5 years ago.

Took my girls here, was ok not what I expected, but that's fine. You know when you get hyped up for something in your head and you finally get there, and it doesn't meet your imagination, yer well that's what happened with us. I'm no expert so I guess they just trying their best. Parking guy was friendly and very helpful, but car park was less than average, for pple mover van like mine.

  • 1/5 Marte van G. 8 months ago on Google
We were going through and asked a question team Conrad or Jeremiah And the actor didn’t respond and the light turned on and then after the joke at the top of the stairs a security guard asking if we were sober and trying to kick us out. We made a joke and we’re trying to enjoy ourselves and for the rest of it everyone wasn’t scaring us and making our experience awful not even scary the bouncer asking the questions was being touchy and horrible to the person who had apparently turned the switch off and asked the question and was disrespectful. Wouldn’t go as they don’t understand boundaries and the security don’t respect privacy or boundaries.

I went alone as I had a free voucher and it was a last minute plan. I was told at the door I had to be with someone to gain entry so I had to awkwardly ask the family behind me if I could join them. I'm glad they were so welcoming and I had fun with them but I didn't see anything on the site that says I can't be alone otherwise I shouldn't have been able to book a single ticket without being warned about the rule. Also not worth $55. It feels like satire and isn't scary. I'm glad I got in free because I wouldn't have paid for it.

First time there. Went on a Friday. Was really packed as it was of Halloween week. The woods, I clung onto my mate real good lol. The fog was great. The haunted house was amazing. Disturbia was it for me, scary clowns get me & I loved it. Round 2 to face it all again soon.

  • 3/5 Sydney F. 5 months ago on Google
Pretty average compared to a few years ago. But still not bad for the money. Fog was the worst, closely followed by the house, not many characters, and mostly empty. Best was the carnival one, most staff and frights. Forest was good. Tinfoil man was the best. Cheers for a bit of fun and laughter.

  • 2/5 Jeremy W. 6 months ago on Google
Went on Halloween for the 3rd time. Previous visits have been great. This year, it’s like they oversold the tickets. Queues were far too long. We were there 3 hours and only did 2 attractions. Everything was just taking too long. Previous years after 3 hours we’d be in the car on the way home after doing everything. The forest wasn’t as scary as previous years. Some actors disappeared when they saw us even? The haunted house was great. The others, sadly, I didn’t do cause it was too late and the lines too long

A school holiday program trip, the kids LOVED it, I loved it. Lights on tour. Used my ghost tube app and caught something, brilliant!! Our favourite actor (Camille) wasn't there that day but Junior took us on a lovely tour of horror. Brilliant place. Owner is the loveliest lady and made us feel so welcome. Thanks for a great day out!!!

14th birthday celebration. Definitely a fun night for the young lads who were all quite fast while running through "The Woods". The problem with the boys running so fast, was that they got to the end real quick...and probably set a new running scared through the woods record!

Even though we queued for almost 2 hours we were entertained and the kids had fun. It was my sons 15th birthday so we did the R13 night attraction. Big fan of the vibe at this place. Not just for the scares (which are too much for me) but for the people working here, from the guy showing us where to park, the security guard who handled my son accidentally breaking a window, ticket booth guy, cafe staff, and tireless actors, everyone charming, funny and/or downright nice. The scarers break character instantly if someone is not coping which has happened both times we went. The first time 2 years ago during covid we were the only ones there and the owner who is an amazing person was thinking of shutting it down and was worried about his workers. So glad it is now super busy and going off! Its a fun night!

Need a cover for the queue outside as most people happy to wait in line, just not in the rain. Not as much fun being soaked before even starting the fun. Otherwise awesome experience.

Went to Spookers last night after first going many years ago and it was amazing and just as terrifying as before! The woods and haunted house are my favourites and the actors are incredible at what they do it’s hard to remember it’s not real at times. The only thing I would say is sometimes it felt like there weren’t enough actors in the different rooms but I would highly recommend this place 😊

Absolutely amazing! Wonderful staff, amazing actors and great attractions. 10/10 would recommend if you enjoy being spooked

  • 5/5 neil c. 1 year ago on Google
The attraction has been changed around a bit. Let's a bit longer than before which makes it worth your while. Would highly recommend the haunted house, the forest and disturbia. The fog was useless. There is a bar on site and beers are $8 a bottle. Plenty of parking available. Get in early to avoid the queue. Opens on Friday and Saturday evenings. R13. A flashlight is required for the forest. No point in buying tickets online or in advance.

3 or 4 ish haunted houses of different sizes (some quite large, one is the size of a container). Great scary actors, good sets and costumes. Really trippy visuals in one haunted house in particular. Worth staying for the forest one.

  • 5/5 patato kiwi p. 1 year ago on Google
Whole family loved it!!! They have a cafe/bar where you can purchase food. Was great fun!! Either wear pants or insect repellent for the forest phase as got attacked my mosquitos. Also, take a small flash light if ya don't wanna buy one for 12bucks as you will need this for the forest phase also. Kids can't wait to go back. Was the perfect evening with the sunsetting on arrival and a Cresent moon in the backdrop. Also, if you're taking ya teens, take birth cert/student ID to prove age as I believe it is R13 We purchased tickets at the door, so not sure if necessary to book in advance.

  • 4/5 Marie-Louise C. 1 year ago on Google
Awesome activity for the whole family, even the ones that scares easily! The actors were in character the entire time and there were some spots that we were truly scared out of our socks. I just feel that the woods and fog areas does not live up to the same level as the haunted house, so leave the best for last. It was very busy, so go early! All in all really good value for money.

  • 5/5 Sarah T. 11 months ago on Google
Really truly awesome experience! Would definitely recommend. And I can't wait to go again. The actors are just so great at their jobs. Giving you such an amazing night. Not for the faint hearted.
