This gives any newbie to Sri Lankan cuisine a real chance to say 'yes' give me more! The Poppers are brill and the folk running this offer a serious alternative to Thai and any Indian restaraunt. Leave Melbourne/Sydney heck, even Perth! and eat here😉. Service is excellent and defo ask questions and they will fill you in on the how, why and what you are eating. Will definitely try and get back here in future, sadly they don't deliver to Melbourne suburbs🤣

We tried this place on the after seeing so many good reviews. It has a nice ambience and clean store. The Latte was pretty good and the staff are really friendly. Unfortunately, the food was terrible for the price tag. We were told that the chef was on leave so there was only a limited menu. I had the Sri Lankan Omelette which could only be described as home kitchen cooking masquerading as a upmarket cafe breakfast. It was so bland and tasteless and the presentation looked so messy. My wife had the String Hoppers and said it wasn't very good either. They shouldn't offer food if their chef is not around to deliver the best quality as they are just hurting their store reputation. If you're going to charge full cafe prices for your food, your patrons will have some expectations on the quality of the food. Great store and staff but unfortunately ruined by the bad food experience.

I first came in, somewhat regularly, over 5 years ago as a quiet and cosy spot for a coffee and breastfeeding my daughter. The staff are all delightful , friendly and helpful. Delicious hot choccies! Today I took my almost 6yo in for lunch and the staff, although new faces, were just as lovely. Food as delicious as ever (love the hoppers), options for a wide range of dietary requirements. Central location yet not too crowded. So happy to see this place still going strong, best wishes to the Rook family.

Had dinner here last night and it was absolutely amazing! Nothing to fault. This restaurant has a beautiful vibe, friendly staff, delicious food. Came here to get Hoppers and they were perfect. Also got the vegan lamprai and devilled chicken kotthu and the flavours were spot on. Thanks so much for a great dinner experience!😊

Went here for lunch and we had a terrific experience! The food was fantastic and the service was even better. My friend and I explained that we were vegan and they were very accommodating, the vegan jackfruit curry was to die for. I couldn’t say anything negative about this place, we had a great time and highly recommend it to anyone, especially vegans and vegetarians as there are not a lot of good vego choices in Geelong

The Quintessential Fusion Sri Lankan restaurant is brilliant. Loved the food and is a credit to the owners who came up with the concept. Highly recommend anyone in the Geelong area to come or make it a day trip from Melbourne. You wont be disappointed. My wife and I enjoyed breakfast on our way to Port Campbell and had lunch on our way back. Make sure to taste the selection of teas on offer. Well done!!

Please don't go to this restaurant if you are planning to have a meal before the cricket match today. We had the most disgusting experience upon entering, where the sri lanka woman asked us to stay near the door very rudely and when she finally started talking to us decided to offer a small shabby table in the corner saying that the rest of the tables were kept for their Australian customers. We walked out immediately due to the bad customer service and rude attitude of this woman.

What a great experience!! From the wonderful decor, to the fantastic table service there wasn’t anything to fault. The food- Hoppers and String hoppers, one with chicken curry and the other with lamb curry, were satisfying and soulful to eat!!! We also had the Ceylon tea experience- peach and Ceylon chai- both beautiful and cleansing with in-depth flavours and well presented. Price was very reasonable also considering the hike of eating out here in Geelong. I would highly recommend this place and I will be back again!!

2 months ago the service and food was fantastic. We decided to go in today and decided to order takeaway. The male attendant was friendly however the old female cook advised us the food would take 10 minutes to be ready and asked us to wait outside in the cold which I thought was strange considering there was hardly any customers in the restaurant. My wife and child decided to go for a walk but I stayed in the restaurant. We reheated the food for a dinner but couldn't taste anything besides the overuse of pepper. We definately won't be returning.

Absolutely beautiful breakfast!! Classic cafe breakfasts with a delicious Sri Lankan twist. Highly reccomend the sri lankan eggs benedict or the string hoppers if you want slightly more traditional meal. On top of that the staff and hostess were lovely. We will be back!!

Great location, great ambience and friendly staff. The food was yummy - I had the chicken fried rice and my husband had the hoppers. He was raving about the seeni sambol that accompanied the hoppers for days! Authentic Sri lankan cuisine. A nice touch were the Spa Ceylon products and spices etc. that you could purchase at the restaurant. Will definitely be back when in Geelong. A must try if you're in Geelong!

One of the best food experiences I've had in Geelong. The food was expertly cooked, delicious and authentic. The only thing I didn't particularly enjoy was the iced latte, and thats because I don't like coffee anyway so I was silly ordering it! No fault on the restaurant. The service was also good, and the restaurant was clean and tidy. Good prices as well. A must have if you're in Geelong.

Very yummy comfort food and great hospitality! Anula and other staff were very nice and gave us few good picks to chose from the menu ! We loved the the chicken and yellow rice cooked in a banana leaf as it tasted really next level. Will definitely recommend if you want to try some easy comfort food.

Outstanding service and genuinely good Sri Lankan fusion food. Unlike other fusion restaurants that often focus on the bells and whistles, Rook's menu in rooted in genuine flavours and never sacrifices quality for spectacle. Will be coming back next time we're in Geelong.

The owners were lovely. We knew little about Sri Lankan food and they were helpful with choosing appropriately for our tastes. I had a selection of vegetarian curries. My husband had chicken. We started by sharing a vegan pan roll and finished with an award winning desert, which was absolutely delicious.
