Are you kidding me? This is the best fish sandwich imaginable! I live full-time on the Outer Bank in Duck NC. I routinely catch Whiting in the surf and cook them within an hour of caching them. My first-ever experience at Skrimp Shack accross from Martin’s in Winchester was a Whiting Fish Sandwich with “6” perfectly breaded and perfectly fried Whiting filet chunks on it (see my three photos attached to this review). Phenomenal taste and texture. And the Cole Slaw was great too! I’ll be going back to this place often to try every item on their menu! Bravo Skrimp Shack! Delicious!

Amazing food, price is reasonable. Really enjoyed my shrimp tacos and okra. The flounder fish sandwich is also very tasty. I recommend it with the macaroni and cheese.

Came in to eat dinner was told we could not eat in. The folks at the counter acted like we was a problem being here and they was locking the doors at 745. I do not recommend this place to anyone. This is not what I expected from this place. The drink machine is rusty and dirty. No way was I getting a drink from that machine looking like that. The ice chute had calcium buildup on it and rusty. Sad shame I should have canceled my order and went else where. We won't be coming back here thats for sure. A waste of 56.89 .

The photo you're seeing is this restaurant's blackened flounder basket. This is the second time I've tried Winchester's Skrimp Shack and the second time I've ordered the blackened fish basket...the first time being over 6 months ago. I was decidedly against going to this restaurant again because of their sloppy and unappetizing version of blackened anything but gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was an off night. After Saturday night's visit, it is my opinion that this SS location has many off nights. Anyone who has EVER had blackened fish knows what it looks like AND tastes like. What they served me BOTH time was a pile of fish shrapnel...a greasy, mushy pile of flavorless fish swimming in about a 1/4 cup of greasy liquid. The fried scallops I ordered were horrendously salty...so much salt, it burned my tongue. We called right away, told them what was wrong and was given a long story about their flounder issues then had to wait for days to get our refund. My husband's fried fish tasted good but his potato salad tasted like nasty store bought potato salad. We have given this restaurant several tries and have decided that it was several tries too many. Bad food...poor/slow follow-up and/or resolution...totally fail. No clue as to why their rating is so high. I'm guessing their customers have never had quality seafood before.

My wife & I had the small family bundle (to go) which is supposed to feed 3 & we had food left over. Everything in the bundle was very good, we had the catfish instead of the whiting, shrimp, hushpuppies and fries & a gallon of sweet tea. All the food was good, no complaints. We highly recommend Skrimp Shack!

Overall for a small fast causal place. It was really good. I went early so there was no wait. The kids portion was pretty large and my sandwich, catfish, was massive.

This place is pretty awesome. Can't wait to try out the rest of the menu. The shrimp tacos were fantastic and the clam strips weren't rubber bands with breading. Definitely nice to have a good seafood restaurant in Winchester.

I happened to be driving through Winchester and remembered that I was told that the Skrimp Shack is the place to go.The young ladies that took my order were as friendly as could be. I ordered the Skrimp and Crab Po Boy and a side of slaw. The Po Boy was on point! It was delicious and a good amount shrimp and crab. The spicy sauce was flavorful and didn’t overpower the sandwich. The Cole slaw was outstanding! It’s a good thing I don’t live close or I would eat there every day and would have to change my name to Heavy D Great place and I will make sure I get back there soon.

Pro: -Customer service was nice, they were very friendly and welcoming. -Food: Catfish was amazing, well what I tasted lol. Con: - Finding hair cooked into my food was a bummer. Which I know things happens but, I called and left a message because I'm not local. I figured they'd call me but it's been a few days (okay a week) and I haven't heard back.

I’ve been wanting to come here for a while. I’m disappointed only because I haven’t been here sooner. It was delicious.

My blackened scallops turned out to be fish... But it was very good. I hope someone who was expecting to get home with fish likes scallops.

Had fish tacos with mango sauce. Quite yummy. Coleslaw was good but cooked green beans seem like they are from a can. Thought was good value for money,, tasted good and staff very friendly.

I love fish, so I am biased. However, this site prepped my orders quickly (even though the site it short-handed). Proprietors and staff were friendly and helpful...brought my orders to me. The space was clean. And most important! The orders were cooked/fried to my liking, and in my estimation, the servings were generous!

Food was great and we all thought the portions was larger than normal! Again, food was great! Shrimp tacos, chicken sandwich, fish & crab, hush puppies all perfectly made! Owner/manager was on site and even came over to the table to check on us and had a small convo. Definitely a hidden gem to go to if u are in the area. Will go again before I move on since I’m here for a few days. Small place with a few tables but felt like we were eating a home made lunch/dinner. Don’t pass the place up!! Thanks for a great meal!

Spur of the moment lunch decision and after a quick review of the nearby choices I'm glad we stopped here. The value was great, as was the fish.. I got the catfish and fries. Both were fried perfectly and not greasy. The service was prompt and polite bringing the food out to the table, it was a small place so not entirely troublesome but a nice gesture none the less.

Oh-My-Gawd 😩🤌🏾 The worst thing about this place is it isn't in my town it's literally 101 miles away. If I didn't prepare my dinner before I left home, I would have bought some for later. I hope the owner see's this...Sir/Madam, get to Charles Co. ASAP 🙏🏾

Without a doubt, the Best Po' Boy Sandwiches around. Everything they make is spot on and Delicious! Got lunch for my 25 year old Son and I there today. 3 different sandwiches. Each one weighed at least a pound and a half. Their Hot Sauce is perfect on all of their food too. Looking forward to our next visit for sure... 🙂

Always good, when they opened we ate there three times the first week. Delicious. We try to eat there at least once a week. Sometimes I call them ahead and order.
