Man these just might be the best tacos in Fredericksburg. Need to do a side by side with Juan More Taco to be sure. Food was very authentic, with a huge menu. Will be back again for sure.

I came here 2 years ago late on a Saturday night when nothing was open and we were starving, it was the only place around that was open for dining in at midnight. I'm so happy I stumbled on this place, its our go-to for Mexican/Salvadorian food now. It's never crowded (we have never waited for a table even at 7 on a Saturday) the drinks are great, the beer is cheap and everything on the menu is REALLY good and pretty damn cheap. Servers are very good, food comes out quick and the pupusas are freaking amazing!

By far my favorite place to go for some queso and chips. They have awesome happy hour deals all the time and the food is always fantastic. The wait staff are some of the nicest too!

I went for takeout, I ordered 6 tacos, 3 steak and 3 mixed. I only received 3 tacos, and the corn tortillas were hard and breaking apart. As you can assume the meat was falling out. Did not have much flavor at all. If anything some was burnt. Rice and beans were fine, but that doesn’t make it better. Overall I give this place a 2 star and would not recommend.

I have driven past a small sign for El Rodeo daily for years during my daily commute. I finally stopped one evening after work Why didn't I stop sooner??! I had a papusa and Caribbean tacos and they were AMAZING. Wait staff were lovely, no issues. The artwork in this restaurant is a reason to go by itself. I'll be stopping a lot more in my future!

My 12 year old son and I walked into El Rodeo on Thursday evening around 7 pm to place a Togo order and were NEVER even greeted. We had eaten there with my parents previously around the time of the county fair and the restaurant was packed. We generally had a good time. Food was delicious and my mom swears by this place. We had just visited her and my son mentioned wanting tacos for dinner so she suggested we stop by El Rodeo as it is on the way home. As we entered, I noticed the restaurant was completely empty except for a woman that appeared to be annoyed that was waiting for a pick up order. I thought to my self this should be quick since there is no one here tonight. I grabbed a menu and took a seat on the bench while I waited my turn. While waiting, a family of 3 came in and were seated immediately. By this time I had approached the counter to indicate that we were ready to order. We waited a few minutes and watched the family receive their drinks and place their order. Surely, the woman who sat them or their server had noticed us still standing there. The woman who sat the family was wearing a green Polo shirt and their server a blue one. The woman in green made numerous trips to the back room to clear what I can only assume was a table that had not been bussed since the previous guests left. She made eye contact with me each time and I thought, let me be patient while she clears this table but she just kept making trips. On the third pass the literally rolled her eyes at me. At this point we had been there 15 minutes in total. Another family of 3 came in and waited behind us for about 5 minutes when the woman in green (still making trips) hollered in Spanish. This is when ANOTHER woman in a black (non polo) shirt came over from a table in the darkened front room. I couldn’t believe this woman had been sitting there the entire time unbeknownst to me and had not come over to greet us. To top it if she looked right past us and grabbed 3 menus and took the other family to there table. Me: “ok, I guess it doesn’t make sense to make a family wait while we place our order. Surely she will come right back. “ Nope! I know you are probably thinking… why didn’t I speak up? But should I REALLY have to?? I have been standing at the counter for 20 minutes. I spent the next 10 minutes determined to let someone who appeared to be in charge know what was going on. During the 30 minutes I was there I never saw any employees other than these 3 ladies that made eye contact with me at least 10 times and several cooks coming out of the kitchen to use the same restrooms as the guests. I stood in the lobby and called in a order to El Patron. I don’t write all of this to bash this establishment. Ultimately I just hope that someone in there that cares about people will read this and let these ladies know that this is unacceptable. As we walked out my son asked said “Dad, what just happened?” All I could say was “I guess for some reason, they REALLY didn’t want to serve us tonight” I have never felt more disrespected by a restaurant staff in my entire life. Shame on them.

I phoned in order for chicken tacos & yucca. It was all delicious! My first time having yucca with the pork & pickled onions. Generous portions were enough to share. Food was packed to stay hot * fresh it traveled well on my drive home about 10 mins.

The food was OK nothing to brag about . I got the steak fajitas . It took awhile before my meal was served which I don't mind if the food is good , anyway my server brought out the skillet with all the hot steak and such but that was all she brought . I asked about the rest of my meal and was told ( with attitude ) that it was coming . By the time she brought my tortillas and toppings my meat was cold. Needless to say it wasn't my new favorite restaurant. My friend and I had asked for separate checks when we first placed our order but when we went to pay our check she hadn't Split them and told me a random amout and when I asked to see my check see rolled her eyes , started speaking Spanish but did not give me my check . So I asked to speak to a manager he told me that she wasn't saying anything bad in Spanish and that she would separate the checks but rolling your eyes is translated as rude in any language probably goes without saying I won't be returning to El Rodeo

Poor service, my husband decided to have soup so he didn’t order a cold drink. As soon as we told the server that we would only have one drink and we would share it she rolled her eyes at us. Why would you drink something cold when you’re drinking a hot soup? She delivered the food with an attitude. My son ordered a kids pizza and it had way too much cheese, we had to remove some of the cheese. The server didn’t come back to check on us until we were done eating. We had to get up and ask for the check because she never came back. The restaurant was not busy at the time to say that she had a reason for her unprofessional behavior.

We had a reservation here for Cinco de Mayo and that was not a good choice. The music was insanely loud, even after we asked for them to turn it down. They had some singers that were basically singing karaoke from a screen, so a bit hit or miss. The service was extremely slow and the waitress couldn't hear us properly. She was a bit rude to us, but I think she was frustrated, too. Waiting forever for everything and then some of us got wrong items. The 1 house margarita I had knocked me on my behind, not sure what is in those. Be careful! Water never arrived although we asked several times. To top it off we had items on our bill, we didn't order, but at that point we had been there over 2 hours and just had enough of the noise and the whole situation so we just paid and left.

Went here for the 1st time - from the moment we walked in - staff were attentive and constantly returning to check in with us . The food was good along with the atmosphere however the mojito did not meet my standards it was basic l. I would return for the food.

The food is so yummy and it's at a great price. I love the pinapple chicken tacos. The only downside is the service is very slow. We waited a good 30 to 45 mins for our food both time we went. Both time they weren't busy so I don't understand the long food wait time. So be prepared to wait on your food.

Huge portions! Delicious food, especially anything that includes fajitas vegetables. Great bar atmosphere. Delicious margs!

Absolutely pleased with the experience. Food was delightful, and serving sizes were frankly enormous. Definitely going to get another meal out of the left overs. Restaurant has a classic cantina vibe with Latin music and murals. We were seated immediately and wait times for food were very reasonable. 10/10 will recommend.

The pupusa’s are listed on the menu as two for $2.50. Once I got there they told me they were $2.50 each and I feel like that’s just scamming. I feel like this is just a really dishonest business with dishonest practices. I will never eat here again. It isn’t about the price it’s about the fact they cheat you.

Ordered take out for 2, for the first time due to craving Mexican food. Both meals (seafood burrito and chicken/steak fajitas) were good. It wasn't eaten while it was hot so I will definitely order again whether it be dine in or take out! I was also greeted with professionalism!

Great food, similar to El Patron (lots of grilled meats covered in cheese sauce), but with some Peruvian pupusaria foods too. Try the chicharron (fried pork) which is the best I’ve had. The cheese pupusas are just as good as anywhere else. Also the fried yucca. And the taquitos appetizer which is super cheap. And the menu doesn’t list it, but you can get Chile rellenos a la carte for super cheap also! Tacos are good too.

The food is good. Drinks are good. Service just needs a little more improvement. I still recommend trying it out for yourself!
