It’s a beautiful place and the benches a great to sit a while, but there are no bathrooms or water fountains. It’s like no one asked a stakeholder what would be useful at a public park.

I am disappointed to come here to this fairly new park to see all these trash cans overflowing. I am afraid 😱 to see how bad it gets in a few years. This park has been open for less than a year. The city has to do better.

Kids love the hills, its a good setup. More picnic tables by the kids area would be nice. A downside is frequent splinters from wood equipment.

Every trip to Fredericksburg leads me to this park. Never disappoints. A place to sit. Reflect and appreciate where we have been, what we have overcome, and how we have grown. Together, with appreciation for life, liberty and the freedom to politely be out best... I am reminded of those very things every time I come here! From age 7 to 67... it had a impact!

We were in town for the Big Train Race. This park was a huge bonus...newly built with natural materials. Gorgeous!

Best park in Fredericksburg! This new modern park offers waterfront views of the river and inventive play structures for the kids as well as power sources to plug in and charge devices. A well designed thoughtful spot.

Modern park combining hangout, splash pad and some playground features for kids. Adjacent parking available for free and a block away from the historical center, this park is very well located. The work isn't completed as of March 2023 (waterfront still closed off). Water fountains offer a small splash pad area for walkers (no soft surface). When we went on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, it was mostly a hangout spot, with groups of teenagers on the climbing nets. As such it was a bit intimidating for younger kids. It may be more appropriate for older kids

Very new. It's winter so....🥶 Hopefully I can tell you more in the spring or summer. Everything is brand spanking new! Very accessible 👍🏻 Plenty of shaded areas. Boat ramp - be careful getting down there. The city (or who ever is managing it)might want to top up the gravel towards the bottom.

This park is clean and we like that it's not your typical playground experience - more of an obstacle course feel with hills and lots of stuff to climb onto, plus a view of the river and train bridge. Took a star off because I don't like that they changed the water feature (splash pad) to a timed thing which only turns on when you press the very difficult-to-press button after a 60 second rest time. Kids can only be so patient and I've witnessed the button not even working properly on several occasions. I also wish it had bathrooms.

Great park that does a good job of incorporating natural elements (rocks for jumping/summertime splash pad, wood bridges/balance beams, etc.) Beautiful views of the river and easy access to downtown. Parking can be tight. Staff at the visitor center said restrooms and an amphitheater are planned additions. Shade could be scarce during the summertime.

This park has a playground for kids. Besides that, I didn't see much going on. The area is still being worked on and there isn't much people around. The park isn't big and you can walk all around in minutes. I'd like to see how it'll get in a few months. Perhaps some night events would lighten the whole area up this summer.

Great Day out to lunch with the whole family. Wonderful park, tables, play areas, photo drops and paths with sitting for a stroll. Enjoyed the area.

Cute little Park near the river. Has a nice playground for kids. Also has steps down to a small pier at the local river, tends to get muddy though so be careful on the steps. The views are quite beautiful there. Park feels incomplete however, as one side is pretty much just open grass. It also lacks a public restroom. Something FXBG is severely lacking of downtown. That can be an issue. Especially if you are taking kids out. There is a public restroom a few blocks away, but that isn't convenient at all.

Scenic city park overlooking the Rappahannock River on Sophia Street. Popular with families with children. Location of some large citywide events. Has small deck for fishing, benches, tables, adjacent parking lot, and across the street is Sophia Street Public Parking Garage. Some upgrades still pending(landscaping). New apartment construction ongoing, across the street, not so peaceful through the construction period.

Nice place to walk around the water. Boat slips there if you have a watercraft to use, entry is a couple blocks over. Peaceful area, and I was told they sometimes do live concerts there.

It was a nice place to take my kids to cool off and play. Not very big but clean and areas for the parent or guardian that provide some shade.

The kids LOVE this park! It's a fun and versatile place to climb and run. We enjoyed the splash pad also! And then it'd always nice to walk down the steps and check out the river.

A small park fit between historic downtown and the river below. Not big but a nice departure from the standard slide and swing set park. The park is clean and the landscape seems like a great design. My kids love rolling down the little hills and playing on the boulders.

Plenty of shade for hot sunny days. My godchildren adored the splash pad! Beautiful views of the river. Climbing ropes and logs for the adventurous ones. Only downside was no bathrooms! And you know toddlers can't hold it. Otherwise it's a great place for kids to play and adults to enjoy the fresh air.
