The food was delicious but the views and outdoor seating made it special. We sat and listened to the waves while enjoying lunch and being thankful that we got away from work for a few days. Thank you for the yummy food and much needed recharge.

This review is for both Turtle's Deli and Smoke STX restaurant. I ate here while on vacation. I got the 3 meat platter and tried the pulled pork, brisket, and smoked sausage. Everything was excellent and surprisingly, it was reasonably priced compared to BBQ joints in the NYC metropolitan area. I also had the Mac & cheese side which was very good. Most BBQ places the Mac & cheese is either runny/soupy, or too thick (consistency of plaster). The potato salad was pretty good, but it really depends on how much you like mustard. The only negatives are: 1) sauces are way too sweet for my taste. After trying both the regular and hot BBQ sauces I prefer the flavor of the meat on its own. 2) parking sucks. Unless you are very careful you will bottom out your car on the drainage channel running along the edge of the road! I have already eaten here twice in 3 days and I can see eaten there at least once more before I go home.

After many years of enjoying one of the best deli’s on island, Turtles Deli is temporarily closing its doors for change of management. Located on the shores of Frederiksted, on the west side of the island, this family-owned business has served the community some of the best sandwiches on island. With previous owners retiring, the deli was purchased by new management, who will be offering much of the same menu that we’ve come to love, but with some new additions. Their initial focus will be to provide the same recipes and flavors and add a personal touch. Turtle’s Deli provides a great location for customers to enjoy a quality sandwich, with a cold brew and literally eat on the beach. I can’t wait for them to re-open!! A bit confusing. Order from one building and pick up food from another. Large portions. Slow to be able to get your food. Over 30 minutes for a Ruben and smoked chicken sandwich. All I counted were 3 folks in front of me. Anyway. Friendly. Food is large but not particularly memorable.

Whoa! This is amazing! This picture is of the ultimate club. It's a triple decker loaded with deliciousness! It is worth every cent spent. AND it's right on the beach. The food is amazing!

The best sandwiches on the island! I've been looking forward to coming back for 4 years, and it was just as fantastic as the first time.

I have to say, after all of our trips to STX how have we never been here before? One of the best sandwiches ever!! The dang thing is humongous!! Just wished I had asked to have the bread toasted to make it easier to eat. Loved being able to sit on the beach to eat lunch. And the peanut butter cookies were perfection!! Can't wait to see you next year when we come back down there again!! PS. For those coming in on cruise ships, super short walk from the pier and is so much better than what you are getting on the boat. Buy an extra one to eat later, you'll wish you had!

Great place for a very filling meal after a dive. They let you know it might be a few minutes but it is worth the wait. Everyone in our group got something different and we all ended up sharing. Don't forget the view.

Look at the view. The food is delicious and you have many options. From bbq to tacos in a place with 3 different restaurants. The drinks are good but a bit too expensive. It is fine, the view compensate it :) I like it

Always good BBQ here. Great place to go, have some food, watch the west end beaches and grab a drink at the downstaira bar.
