The palace is really great and amazing! The view is incredible. There is a line to get a ticket. I think there are different prices for just taking a walk around the garden and palace and the ticket to take a look inside the palace (Didn't get it this time, but just by walking around is already a great experience!✨) There are many kind of attraction inside, where it be forest or small palace or zoo. A recommended place to visit on weekend!

Ludwigsburg Palace is a residential palace about 20min away from Stuttgart Hauptbanhof. It’s built in ancient baroque style, sprawling gardens, fountains and it’s very well maintained. If you have an extra day in Stuttgart or are looking for a weekend activity, I’d recommend. It’s a residential palace, so that explains why it’s not open for everyone to visit inside. Though I’ve seen an alternate tour to see some parts of the palace interiors. The gardens are beautiful with lots of colourful flowers, if you have time you can easily spend the entire afternoon here. Entry Fees - €10 Please note that this is a mandatory entry cost for you to enter the premises and is not an entry fees for the palace in itself.

Lovely palace with a lavish garden. It can be visited only through a 1 hour guided tour. Though the palace has more than 450 rooms, the tour includes about 8-10 rooms. The tour in German takes place every 1/2 hour, whereas the English Tour takes place once or twice a day. Check the website before planning a visit. Inside, photography is not allowed. The rooms are worth a visit and the tour guide explains the story behind the palace and the duke in an interesting and engaging way. In addition, there are quite a few interesting bits like optical illusions through the paintings on the ceiling, etc. Worth a visit if you like history.

Ludwigsburg Residential Palace is one of the largest Baroque buildings in Europe to survive in its original condition. We joined the guided tour and was shown the magnificent interiors of the palace. You pretty much got the idea how they lived during those days. I especially was facinated by the artwork that were done in all the ceiling. But of cos, photos were not allowed. But if you have a chance, please visit and engage the guided tour.

We paid 11.50€ per person and the schloss is too big , we could spend whole day here. There are restaurants inside which is good. Kids would love it too as there are few play areas inside.

The palace looks quite good from the outside. However the best part is the guided tour of the palace to get to know the history & culture of this place. It's not allowed to take pics inside though.

The palace is huge. You can only visit it via a guided tour. There are German and English tours available. Visit the website for the hours info. The tour is really nice, you find out a lot of things. You can’t take pictures inside though. I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, the Ceramics and Fashion Museum was closed and I didn’t get a chance to see the gardens, but I think those are worth visiting in summer and maybe spring and autumn, but not winter. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this place if you’re around.

My hometown, so my review might be biased. I love visiting the Palace every time I come home. The gardens are amazing and its amenities are great. Once you enter, you almost seem to lose the sound and disturbance of a busy city surrounding the palace and gardens. Great space to relax and take a walk. There are tours as well! For the kids, the fairytale gardens are a must go and experience as well! They offer online and at the gate ticket purchases, even accept international/ foreign school IDs for student discount.

The gardens are lovely, the palace, at least the interior, is not. It is fairly dilapidated and compares poorly with other comparable palaces (Nymphenburg, Schonnbrun). You can see the interior only through a (somewhat infrequent) guided tour, which only covers the Duchess’ side and which doesn’t allow photos. My tour guide was not nice and not terribly informative. All in all, this was not the greatest stop on my tour of southern Germany.

Really interesting Residential, we paid for the tour and it was entertaining. We also visited the gardens (there’s an extra fee for that) would recommend more to visit once it’s spring or summer. It can be very entertaining for kids since they have sets for different classical fairytales.

Nice place for a day hangout. We can easily enjoy with family it has a café inside. "Ludwigsburg," meaning "Louis's castle," was named after its builder, Eberhard Louis, Duke of Württemberg. It has a hunting estate and lodge owned by the Dukes of Württemberg. There is a nice garden with a pond which is very vast and very beautiful during summer. Kids friendly. Ticket details as follows : Residential Palace · 8,50 € · 4,30 €. Family, 21,30 €. Groups of 20 or more per person, 7,70 €. Private group tours, on request ; Museum Ticket · 3,00 € · 1,50 €. *(subject to change periodically, please enquire)

If you dont take a guided tour of the palace, you will miss out on an amazing building and also an understanding of the royal family and the local history.

Amazing guided tour, very informative and entertaining. The castle has been kept in an excellent condition. The ticket is separate than the surrounding garden which is joyful for if you have kids.

We went there in September for the pumpkin exhibition and it was a really great experience, for adults and kids. Beautifully arranged, plenty of options for food/drinks, the heaviest pumpkins were really impressive. The carved faces were a real piece of art.

If you enjoy historical tours this one is fairly quick and reasonably priced. The guide in English was very knowledgeable. Note that you can only do the tour at certain times of day. I recommend going through the gardens as well which needs several hours to explore.

Had the most amazing morning exploring the grounds of this palace. It was during December and I think because it was winter we didn’t have to pay any entrance fees. The palace also wasn’t open to go inside. But it had snowed and the gardens were just beautiful.

This is apparently the largest palace in Germany. I would recommend to take a guided tour and understand the history is very interesting. The guide is very expressive and she explained everything very nicely

A most beautiful experience! Beautiful castle with a back garden as well as long walkways near the castle. One ticket (in winter time) was 9€ and you get a guide to walk you through the castle, on German or on English. Very nice!

The place is very beautiful and the architecture and arts are also awesome. Highly recommended place if you are in Stuttgart for half a day. The ticket includes a guided tour in both English and German. Danke!

Got there for 10AM. We had a tour of one half of the castle/chateau. Unfortunately you are not allowed to wonder the chateau by yourself. Our tour guide was phenomenal. I don't know how long he has been a guide. But he certainly knows his stuff. After our tour we went into the gardens, which cost us €10 each. I know it's not a lot to look at, but you have got a Pumpkin exhibition there at the moment. Especially great for kids!

If you have kids, it will be a great place. There is a funny playground in garden. Otherwise, you can walk around this big place and enjoy cafes. Just remember your sunglasses and hat , if it is a sunny day. By the way, I am not sure if inside of palace is available for visiting. The ticket seems for garden only, and I did not check closely to palace buildings.
