Historic and beautiful cathedral that contains gorgeous stained glass windows!

One side of the Dom is white-washed and looks rather modern. The other side is of red brick and looks quite old. There are remainings of an ancient Roman wall nearby, and a cozy square with a playground. The entrance to the Dom is free.

A very beautiful The Cathedral of Augsburg, founded in the 11th century. Very detailed art works with original stained glass. You can easily spend 45 minutes walking around inside and out. We went on Sunday and did not pay to get in, not sure if there is s fee at all. It is worth the visit.

It is impossible to express the atmosphere with words. Everyone must feel it for themselves. It's very old and massive cathedral not very far from city hall. It is home to oldest surviving stained glass. The paintings with some dating back to 11th century are authentic. Be aware that it closes at 6.

Very old church. One of the must go at Augsburg. Very nicely maintained. Heights of peace when u go inside and sit . Beautiful glass paintings. Can be easily accessed by tram transport .beautiful paints can also be seen inside the church

Loved this cathedral so much. I am not aware of the history but it looks so magnificient and beautiful. This Church is nothing like any other churches in Bavaria. The whole vibe is so pious and pure :) We loved our time spent in here:) You must definitely visit this cathedral:)

Good ole Dom, as impressive as any other.

The Cathedral of Augsburg (German: Dom Mariä Heimsuchung) is a Roman Catholic church founded in the 11th century in Romanesque style, but with 14th-century Gothic additions. This cathedral is very beautiful and if you are in Augsburg it is a must see. The atmosphere is quiet and even if you are not catholic it is a good place to find some peace.

I think this has been my favorite church I’ve been to in Europe. That’s saying a lot because I’ve been to a lot of church’s these past 2 months. Definitely worth going out of your way to go and see.

This cathedral is the most visited site in Augsburg and also it's most important church. It's founded in the 12th century but the original church even dates back to 8th century and it is a Roman Catholic church. Through the years many reconstructions were made and now it has neo-Gothic style as well. It was an interesting and calming experience to walk inside and enjoy the silence and the beauty of the arts inside.

Medieval Cathedral that was renewed with the Gothic style. 62m high and impressively high with beautiful art glass work, a corridor full of saints/priests Tombs. shrines surrounding the main altar. its the icon of the city.

I am a Church nerd. I have to visit some on every holiday. For me, however, the Dom, as a whole, failed to 'grab' me, It seemed more like a repository. That said, the wall paintings were fantastic.

Beautiful Cathedral full of history. Regular choir performances held here with the Domsingknabe and all the senior choirs!

This cathedral dates back to Roman times and the present cathedral is the oldest in Germany. It also has very impressive stained glass windows of prophets which are the oldest in Europe.
