Dies ist eine Gedenkstätte für die 12 Toten vom Anschlag 1972. Er liegt im nördlichen Teil vom Olympiapark. Die Geschichte von dem Anschlag wird im inneren abgespielt. Von der U - Bahn kommend rechts halten, ca. 5 Minuten Fußweg.

If you have the time in Munich, this is a must visit. To think that what happened in 1972 is being repeated today in Israel and Gaza, shows how large an issue this is. Very sobering and sombre watching the timelines unfold on the screens.

Ich war schon oft im Olympia Park, diese Gedenkstättehabe ich aber bisher noch ich gesehen. Das ist sehr interaktiv mit Videos gestaltet. Wahnsinn, was 1972 in unserer schönen Stadt passiert ist.

Jetzt wohn' ich schon 54 Jahre in unserer Stadt, aber an diesem Ort war ich heut' (Di, 23.o8.2022) zum ersten Mal. Am o5./o6.September 1972 war ich erst 5 1/2 Jahre, kann mich also nicht daran erinnern; erst durch spätere Reportagen etc. wurde mir bewusst, was für ein Horror das damals gewesen sein musste. Immer wenn ich in Berichten den Satz des damaligen IOC-Präsidenten Avery Brundage höre: "The games must go on !" läuft's mir eiskalt den Rücken runter. Im Inneren des Erinnerungorts werden Videoberichte über die damaligen Ereignisse abgespielt. Ein stiller Ort zum Gedenken.

Great memorial to discover how the 1972 terrorist attack unfolded, thanks to 3 big screens. There's also a brief biography of the athletes and the policeman that unfortunately lost their life. Definitely recommend a brief visit.

For the first time the victims of the terrorist assault have faces and a history to read about at this newly opened (2017) memorial. Visiting it just one day after the official opening brought all the memories back that were happening in 1972 at the Munich Olympic Games. The architecture is unobtrusive, yet a remarkable cut-in of a small hill at the Olympiapark. You can‘t bypass without noticing it. Thanks to the City of Munich, the dwellers at Olympiapark and of course to Ankie Spitzer. We‘ll never forget.

Ein schöner Ort um zu verweilen. Mit Sitzgelegenheiten. Eine Dokumentation läuft immer. Erinnerungswände von den getöteten Sportlern.

Eine sehr schöner Erinnerungsort mit Informationstafeln und videos. Im Herzen des Olympischen Parks. Für jeden empfehlenswert um nicht zu vergessen welch schreckliches Leid sich neben all den Freuden ereignet hat. Leicht zu erreichen und nicht zu übersehen.
