The owners are so accommodating. I called only a few days before we had our family dinner here. They were able to put us in a private party room and decorated for my Aunts bday. The food was spectacular. Highly recommend Spin a Yarn for a nice intimate dining experience right in the heart of Fremont.

Fun place with pretty good live band music and dancing floor. You have the option of indoor or outdoor seating. We sat outside for the live music. They have plenty of heaters to keep you warm. Our waiter and his helper were super attentive. Everything we ordered was delicious except the chicken piccata which was a little dry and we didn’t care for the sauce. Scallops were to die for. Absolutely made to perfection. Fresh, soft, moist, and tasty. I really enjoyed them. Super busy because of Friday night music and yet our waiter was able to handle everything nicely. We didn’t order mixed cocktails so I can’t say much about our drinks. I ordered tea after dinner and our waiter was kind to keep refilling the hot teapot for me and gave us complimentary sweets. Overall great experience. We will definitely come back and recommend Spin A Yarn to anyone who appreciates good food and entertainment.

It’s so refreshing to see there are still classic restaurants in this part of California offering a unique and high-class experience. A little pricy but worth it. Waitresses are all professional and provide the best service. Definitely try their lamb shank.

It was my first time here on Superbowl game day. I have been living in Fremont for so long but had no idea until my friends introduced me to this place. This place can be a sports bar, a fine dining place, and can be an event hosting place too. I was really impressed by the way the entire place was buzzing with people, food, and the game on TV. The food was laid out on the side table and people can just go and serve themselves like a buffet style and it kept refilling. The food was delicious and the server would come and take your drink orders. The service is great, it's like a family because everyone kinda knows everyone. I could see they were the regular ones. I think I am going to be back here soon as I want to make sure my other friends too get to enjoy the place. It's a huge place with parking not that much but if you are lucky you can get it there itself or you have to find one. The parking is free. The ambience is happy and cheerful, I literally took a full round of that place inside just to see what all space they have and how people were enjoying. Definitely one must try this place.

Wonderful meal. The service was welcoming and the food was delicious. It began with a fresh house salad made with a variety of greens, apples, walnuts and blue cheese crumbles. I had the seafood linguine made with a variety of fresh fish, clams, mussels and large prawns. I chose the white sauce and it was creamy and tasted great! I will be sure to return on my next visit.

Worth every star...great waiters, never waited for service or had to ask for something (Keith). Pics say it all about quality. Fresh grated parmesan. Birthday addition was over the top.

Went to this place due to recommendation from coworker, and it was just okay. The atmosphere was good with an oldie type feel but the food, for the price (spent $160 for two people, 1 steak and 1 drink each) was just okay. The steak and scalloped potatoes were lacking flavor, although the cream spinach was good. Atmosphere wasn't help by an obnoxious Celtics fan screaming like a banshee, but I wouldn't hold that against the restaurant. Overall decent place but food didn't live up to the hype. I also don't like that the menu doesn't have prices of their steaks, just states MP for market price. How does every other restaurant do it without issue?

We were looking to try this for a while, and finally got the chance two days back. This was featured in Gordon Ramsay’s television show many years ago, though admittedly a lot must have changed since then. We were a group of 7, so they gave us the private dining room. Angelo, our server was amusing, attentive, knowledgeable and prompt. We ordered a couple of appetizers: prawns and calamari. A couple of friends ordered Caesar’s salad while one got their soup of the day. The prawns were more like shrimp. But the sauce was very nice and the shrimps were cooked very nicely. Their bread was fresh and went very well with butter. Although, of course, totally unnecessary carbs! :-) My entrée was a 12 oz Filet Mignon. I requested Cajun rub. It was wonderful. Every bite was full of flavor. Expertly grilled. Loved it. Other friends ordered prime rib, ribeye bone-in and short ribs. Everyone loved their food. Wonderfully cooked. We had a few shareable sides, including chilli lime corn, creamed spinach, garlic fries and mushrooms. For dessert we had tiramisu, Cheesecake and berries. These were awesome. Highly recommend this place for a special occasion. The owner greeted us himself when we entered the restaurant and the service was very attentive. Plenty of nice seating areas, and this place has been around 60+ years and is a sort of local landmark.

A beautiful place to have your dinner!! Classy atmosphere and live music. I enjoyed the food, and wine also!!! We asked to share one steak and they served us 2 full plates with very carefully chosen sides for me, cause I don't eat dairy. Very well cooked steak! Really friendly staff and Sakis, the owner, is a very nice person!! I hope to visit it again soon ❤️

We chose this place because of the Google reviews and they were dead on. My husband and I needed a nice night out and this was the perfect place. The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet yet elegant. We came during the Christmas season and the decorations were beautiful. The wine list was good but the food was excellent. I had the prawns, risotto and my husband had the Caesar salad with blackened chicken.

The quality food was excellent. We had Ribeyes, prime rib, calamari steak and oh yes the Greek lemon soup. Everyone should try the soup. The staff were so incredibly attentive. 5 star service!

Had dinner there on Saturday and it was empty when we got there about 5pm. More people came between 5-6 and they had to large parties. Our waiter was great and super nice and was on his game. Our drinks never empty, didn't have to wait long to the food. BUT.. we ordered the calamari app and it was EH. Most pieces were rubbery and didn't have much flavor. Several pieces were beyond edible as they were way to hard. I ordered the pasta and the seafood that came it was decent. Not much flavor. Some mussels and clams were over cooked and couldn't get them out of the shell. The prime rib had a lot of fat on it. For the prices that we paid I would have expected more flavor especially since we were there before the crowd. I'm willing to try it again in the future.

Best steakhouse I’ve ever been to. Only thing better than the amazing food was our waiter. Even though he’s a 49ers fan, our drinks and food were out quick and he made us feel at home in another state. May be a little pricey, but you get what you pay for and this place IS worth it. Thank you Keith and company! Get the tiramisu!!!

I attended a bridal shower in the side room. It was a lovely space that they allowed the hosts to decorate. They provided a gift and game table. There was also a nice fruit, cheese and cracker spread while we waited for our food. Food was delivered quickly after ordering and was delicious.

A very old fashioned American steakhouse. You won’t be disappointed but you won’t get super excited either. The main dish, lamb shank and lamp chops, were definitely tasty but the soup and drinks were just okay. Tiramisu was below average.

Went there last night for dinner. It was a weeknight. It was quiet, though not empty. We were seated quickly and the waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered the salad with our meal. I was very excited because the menu said that there would be hazelnuts but instead, the salad came with candied wants. I was disappointed that it wasn't hazelnuts because that sounded like it would be really great and the waiter said it must have been a typo in the menu. I am slightly allergic to walnuts but I didn't mention it. Tried one and it was, indeed good. That was literally the only tiny hiccup in the meal. The salad was fantastic the steak was perfection, along with the roasted garlic and I'll gratin potatoes. The mushroom pasta was absolutely delicious. We saved room for dessert and so glad we did. We got a tiramisu and the berries dessert to share. The tiramisu was absolute perfection and the berries were even better if at all possible! One other thing... The steak knives were awful lol! It was literally easier to cut the very tender filet mignon with the table knife than the steak knife. But our experience was so awesome and everything was so delicious that we're definitely coming back! Just next time I'm bringing my own steak knife. 🤣

We stopped in for lunch and almost had the place to ourselves. Our server was fast and efficient, friendly and knowledable abput the dishes. The corn chowder was excellent. The house salad was tasty with bleu cheese. The carbonara was made with cream and fresh peas and was great. The atmosphere was classy.

I came here for the first time for lunch. Was one of the first people in. And was excited to try out a local restaurant. I got the pasta carbonara which included either soup or salad. I had my soup. It was not as I would expect a corn chowder to taste but it was warm and because I was the first one they had not turned the heater on yet. So the restaurant was cold so the soup at least made it a bit better. The young lady who helped me was very attentive. She was very helpful. That's my service. Got five stars. My pasta came out and it had quite a lot of Alfredo sauce which I understand some people very much. Enjoy. The peas unfortunately seem to have been a bit overcooked and the pieces of bacon were not really. What I would think would come into a carbonara but I let it go. I ate a little bit of it and they didn't want it boxed up. I'd been asked a couple times if everything was okay and I said that was fine. Upon receiving my check and looked at it and there was an extra $2 charged for the soup. I looked on the menu online and they also had it stating that when you got the pasta you had a choice of soup or salad. I asked the server about it and she said she'd be back. I could hear her explaining it to another wait staff. They spoke for quite a while and then came back. I was told that it was a misprint and that it was charged and that it was all within. Each item was extra. I showed them on the original menu that it said it was included. I then was told again that it was going to be charged. The manager then let me know that nothing was for free anymore that salads were going up and that it was a misprint. I told her I understood that but when I had ordered I was not informed about that. Even though I had asked a lot about the salad in the soup to make a decision. There was no mention that it would also cost more or that there was a misprint on the website as well as on the menus. She kept saying it's just $2. Not understanding that it wasn't down to the amount that was at it to my bill but the fact that there was no apology to it. They were just so adamant that I should just accept it that I would be required to pay more for their mistake. They repeatedly it was a misprinted non-updated menu and the misrepresentation of what the menu clearly stated. The manager ended up taking $2.25 out of the cash register and the waitress brought it to me. No apologies. No kindness. Nothing. This disheartens me because I would have liked to have a local place to have some lovely pasta.

Found it by accident while traveling, and gave them a chance since they we're busy on a week night. Older, more established restaurant, very friendly and helpful staff, owner greets you at the door. Food was very good, large enough portions that my wife and I split a steak dinner! Highly recommended to give them a try, you won't be disappointed!!

We stopped in for a business lunch. We asked to be seated outside in an open air but shaded space. I had their beef burger (1/2 lb beef patty, Cheddar Cheese, Balsamic Onions, Romaine, Special Sauce, Herbed French). Grilled onions is a favorite and it definitely upped my liking of the sandwich. Our service was quick and friendly.

Service was great, atmosphere was good. I ordered the salmon and I was disappointed. It was very dry and the seasoning was blah. The rice didn't seem like good quality rice. The salad was good, the coconut cream pie was delicious and the drinks were good. For what they charge, I would expect much better in regard to the food!

Great, old school steak house. Huge portions crafted to order. Attentive waitstaff. Real Ceasar salad; melt in your mouth pork chop. Delicious dessert - the best tiramisu I've ever had. We eat here about twice a month gorgeous either lunch or dinner. They never disappoint.
