Super friendly staff. Food was amazing. Small diner with booths inside and patio seating outside. The old diner booths are worn but don't let that discourage you. Food arrived hot and well seasoned. Large portion.

Great atmosphere, being in the bustling heart of Tower District. The serving staff are attentive. They don't skimp on the patties on their burgers. Great flavor! Also, don't forget to try their ranch dressing.

Chill and classic diner in an awesome location. Not sure what took me so long to visit. Warm greeting when you walk in and great service throughout our visit. Went for the country fried chicken breakfast-so yummy! Perfect portion size-I ate it all and enjoyed every bite. Great coffee!

Great food. Great service. Waiter was very attentive and came by frequently. Atmosphere felt like it longed to be what it once was and felt like it had once been the happenin' place, but is sadly now an untapped local resource. I even saw the owner there. That is incredible. And my older date told me amazing stories about it and the owner's heyday.

My friends brought me here for lunch on my birthday and it was quite nice! The wait staff were friendly and knowledge, good service overall. The food itself was also very good. I ordered the Monaco sandwich with fries, and I didn't think I would get full but I did and was tasty and satisfying. My friend gave me a piece of their BBQ bacon burger and it was really good as well. The location is right in the center of the Tower District. You can dine in and sit outside or inside. The wait for our food to arrive was around 15 minutes, but it was worth it. I will come back again!

Food is good but the servers lack customer service skills. I was picking up a to go order on Sunday morning Mother's Day. I could see my order on the counter and when I asked the young Hispanic female server is that my to go order she replied with "I'm not your server" and just goes about her business not even acknowledging me after..wow okay if you don't handle to go orders you could at least just tell me someone will be with you shortly. That response pretty might implies that it's not your job it's not your problem. I love supporting local business but that comment made me feel like an inconvenience to this young lady for just asking about my to go order. I get treated better at Denny's or black bear diner.

I love Irene's! The staff is always friendly and attentive, even when super busy. The atmosphere is comfortable and casual, it's a great place to dine alone or with friends. The patio is perfect for people watching while enjoying the best Mimosas in Fresno. The portions are huge and the food is delicious! I love that the owners are there working and supporting their team. Supporting local businesses has never been more important, and this business is worth supporting!

Our first time at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and I was excited to finish my leftovers the next day, but I was shocked at the amount of grease that came from the food when I took it out of the microwave, after 2.5 minutes. The price per plate was $15, so I thought I would share this with future customers. Safe to say, we won't be returning customers. The staff was friendly, but was missing items from my order. *To respond to your comment: so your excuse for all this grease ends with an of course, as if to say I am ignorant, is obvious enough. I really wish I would have also taken a picture and posted it, of the other plate I had which was the spaghetti with (white)cream because that also had just as much grease/oil and I was disgusted by it and didn't even want to finish it. We Will definitely never come back and I recommend people don't spend almost $20 on a plate full of grease/oil.

Everything was good just gotta try something else to be for sure if it's a place I'd go back again and again..... California burger was pretty damn good tho with the half and half onion rings and fries

The Cubano is excellent with a side of fries. And the Onion Rings are worth the splurge. The staff are always very nice.

We waited an hour for our food and it wasn't even busy. Not to mention the food came out cold. The waitress had an attitude, never checked on us and failed to bring everything we ordered. We will go elsewhere for now on where they care about you!

Irene's is one of my long-time favorite places to eat in the Tower District and take my friends who visit from out of town. I recently used them to handle a lunch order for a work event to feed eleven people. Everyone ordered something different, some with customizations. Irene was a pleasure to work with and it was so appreciated that each person's name was written on the bag with their lunch, and that they provided boxes for easier transport. That made it easier to get each person's order sorted out. Thank you, Irene and staff!

Ordered a chicken fried steak breakfast plate with biscuits and gravy, a "grand slam" type of regular breakfast with pancakes, and a french dip sandwich. Came out to like $65, which is normal for 3 breakfasts, i'd say. The taste of the food, though? Excellent. The country fried steak or whatever tf its called was crunchy and didn't taste like it was made from frozen right then and there. My wife wasn't ENTIRELY WON OVER or too impressed with the roast beef sandwich, but here's a secret about her: I've never seen her order or eat any kind of roast beef dipping sandwich before & we're going on 10 years together, but idk. I love her anyway. But back to Irene's... basically, it's slightly on the steeper side of price, which is understandable considering its location right in the HEART of Tower. The food itself, (not thinking about cost) is absolutely Superb. The atmosphere? It's Tower for crying out loud. You NEVER KNOW "What" is gonna walk by next. And i do mean "WHAT" not "WHO."

Waiter the white hair girl ,I wish I got her name. She is super friendly attentive super friendly smile. Food it wasn't that good. I took my mother there I my self never been there. It was mine and mother's 1st time. Food wasn't that good maybe is that we chosen the wrong. Breakfast plate we got the enchilada humlet. But I will take my mother and son again and try a different plate. .

I’ve heard about their burgers so I have tried it for myself. It is confirmed, what I’ve heard about their burgers were correct. It is my number one burger right here in the Fresno area. I’ve tried many of not all of the burgers all around town and I have to say this is my number one place for burgers. My number 2 place is in Clovis. The price is very reasonable. The smell and the taste of the first bite is on point! Smell great! Taste is even better! I definitely recommend this place for their burgers Satisfying customer

They ight. It keeping it a buck 50 the syrup was good and eggs just my coffee was a bit off but overall it was for my birthday morning breakfast with. My mom and I enjoy the moment there still regardless so I recommend it

Wait staff was awesome. Coffee .... the best.... breakfast burrito... not so much... why? Not enough eggs bacon and sausage too many potatoes. Would I go back? Definitely...

Greeted us when we walked in and had a table ready for us. We were waiting on someone else so we ordered some coffee. Coffee was great and in big coffee cups. Once our 3rd person came in we asked for another cup of coffee and took about 20 minutes to get it. We also needed refills which took a bit to get. We ordered our food and it came out within 20 minutes. Food was amazing, everything had great flavor. Our eggs were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Hopefully the service will be better next time we go. Other than those few little things it would have had a 5 star. Recommend this place for the food. We will have to try out the lunch here soon.

was looking for a place in the Tower District for a good burger and right in the middle of downtown Tower is Irene's with a giant delicious burger the size of a shoe. Giant meat paddies with your choice of toppings blending nicely into the melting cheese. I give a strong 4 out of 5 ★s. The only reason I didn't give it a 5★ is their prices. Everything was very high priced but if you can spend the extra change, it's well worth the prices with a nice view keeping you in the middle of the downtown life there in the Tower District while letting you eat outside on their patio. Great 👍

This is the place to go to for Cheeseburger and wings, always delicious and hasn't disappointed yet!.

I love the huge cups of coffee they served ..felt like I was home. I ordered a grilled ham n cheese with fries...I needed some comfort food and this was perfect. Service was friendly and attentive. Perfect visit for lunch.

I used to go there with coworkers when I worked at Fresno City college about 20 years ago and they had the BEST tuna sandwiches. I got to go there today and they are just as good as I remember. It was my daughter's first time and she tried the patty melt and said it was excellent. We will be back.

It was Sunday at noon . My wife and I liked it. We each ordered Half Sandwich, soup and salad item. The sandwich was Monaco. We got full so there's plenty to eat. We were seated right away although there were a number of people dining. Waitress was cordial and very efficient. Although the sandwich was tasty, I would have expected that there would have been more pastrami and less shredded lettuce in the sandwich. It did not at all compare with a sandwich at Deli Delicious. We will try it again.

Great breakfast! I got the daily special, Eggs Benedict w Hot Links, it came with a mountain of homestyle potatoes. Meal was delicious, wait staff was kind & attentive. This is the kind of place that deserves your dough. Also: nice big coffee cups!

First time eating here. We sat in the patio area. It was clean and service was good. Menu had a nice variety. I order the Cuban and it was delicious. The meat was tender and the bread fresh. My husband had a French dip and found the same. Definitely will return. Eat local as much as you can. Keep Tower businesses thriving.

Had to wait quite a bit to be served even though it was not busy. The clam chowder was cold and tasted sour, didn't pay for it. My companion's sausage was cold and scrambled eggs were rubbery. The prices are way too high for the quantity and quality of food. Sorry to say I won't be returning.

Had an omelet here once, and it was good. This time I had a Gigantic breakfast burrito filled with nothing but potatoes. lol Should call it the potatoe burrito. Was very dry. Next time I'll order something else 😵‍💫 Service was good though.

Lord where do I start . The staff are very sweet and attentive, but that food was sad. The pancakes raw in the middle take it back to the kitchen and leave it there. I requested crispy potatoes they not crispy. My scramble the cheese was hard. Would I give them a second chance?

The food is mediocre at best and the customer service is some of the worst I have ever received. I used to frequent this business weekly but can’t stand the thought of putting up with their lack of ability anymore. Don’t let the average prices fool you it’s not worth it. Additionally, the are notorious for closing early, so be sure not to go out of your way to eat there.

Food was good but I had a sandwich and they just put a ton of mayonnaise on it to the point the bottom piece of bread was soggy. Besides that it'd be very highly rated! Id recommend it, it has a nice homey feel and plenty of choices.
