We took someone who'd never been to a zoo before and it was a little disappointing because what she got to see was a lot of places with animals not there and moving equipment and lots of things like that. She still enjoyed it and it certainly was wonderful to see all the various changes that will be made. I was particularly happy to see a new commissary and office buildings going up because the previous facilities are old and inadequate.

Such a perfect place for a picnic or BBQ. They have bbq pits here. Picnic tables everywhere. Restrooms and 2 playgrounds. Love the duck pond as well. It's nice to unplug from life and enjoy the trees oh and squirrels. Love it here!

Not like it used to be. Homeless people wherever you look. My truck almost got broken into, when i went for a walk. Like wth?! Playland is practically a ghost town now... Unbelievable.

This is old school fun. I LOVED it! Reminded me of places I went when I was little. Really enjoyed it with my granddaughter. I hope people go to this with their little ones. Cities are not making places like this anymore and I am impressed with the Fresno Rotary Club for keeping this going. Please open up the rides next!!

Very nice and well maintained zoo. It's amazing what they have done with relatively little space and still more is being added.

We loved the new improved playland! Perfect day we had with our whole family. My 2 and 4 years old were able to do most rides, and we went on a special discount day, so it was more affordable for our family of 5.

Love the zoo. Went and saw the new dinosaur exhibit. I take my grandkids there at least once a month. Storyland has been one of my favorite places since I was a kid. Perfect for preschoolers.

If it wasn't for the zoo this would be the worst park to ever visit. Be aware that they set people up by letting you drive inside without paying. There is no sign when driving in saying to get your license plate number and pay your parking online or at a kiosk in the park. Almost everyone was scrambling around having to go back to their cars to get their license plate numbers and cash to pay at a kiosk. Just a heads up.

We absolutely love our zoo. Really amazing improvements over the last 10 years! We recently went to Illuminature, and I HIGHLY recommend it! It's really beautiful. My daughter didn't want to leave when it closed. Support our zoo!!

Don't forget to pay for parking . This is a big park with a lagoon, Chaffee zoo, Storyland, and separate amusement park: Playland.

We hadn't been at the rodeo Park zoo for many years and we were amazed and fascinated by the new creatures in the new renovations done here my mom of 82 years of age was reminiscent of her time when she was here as a young teenager and I was reminded of all the animal animals and how fun it was and still is to go there

Really nice place to spend the day with the kids. The zoo is really great and it may be under construction a lil, but it's well worth it. It will be even better when it's complete. Always a great day when visiting the Chaffee Zoo.

Homeless people everywhere. Or someone trying to steal your bag when your not looking or while your making sure the kids get in the car after a visit to the zoo or just the park being vandalized.

I'm so glad Roeding Park is back open. I remember coming here as a kid, and it was so fun. Now, my kids get the chance to experience the same joy I did growing up. We will back going back soon.

I like the expansion and enhancements Chaffee Zoo has completed. We didn't get to enjoy the Asia exhibits, we visited before it was open. We enjoyed the cheeseburgers at the new Cafe. Great work and we'll be back to see the Asia exhibits! If you get the opportunity spend some extra cash to visit the butterfly exhibit!

The dog park over to the NW part of park by the tennis courts is a nice but underutilized spot. I guess people are probably nervous about who would be in there but 90% of the time they are perfectly normal people following all rules, which is about the same as any dog park. And the dogs love the fact that it's a nice long run. Its a good place to walk your dog even if they aren't good with other dogs, lots of shade and grass and pretty clean. Sometimes there are a few problems w dog park (overgrown grass, not unlocking both) but not any more or less than other dog parks I've been to. If you don't know where it is ask a worker. If you go before 8am it's free 🙂

Mixed feelings about Roeding Park. Grew up in Fresno and well before Woodward Park, it was the place to go for a picnic, the zoo, or a birthday gathering, to name a few. Presently, the park continues to be used for the above and appears family friendly. As would be expected, there are plenty of homeless spread out in the park, but they tend to keep to themselves. The playground has been updated and is kid friendly, there are several tennis courts available, the zoo is world-class and there are acres of area to find your ideal spot amongst old growth trees. Branch out of your comfort zone and give it a try. For the athlete, walker, or biker there is plenty of area to get a good workout in. The park is near the Tower District and just off Highway 99. Easy access! Enjoy.

We went to the Chaffee zoo here inside the park. There is also Storyland and Playland within this park. It has a couple of playgrounds, and several pinic areas. We always enjoy this park.
