I have always loved courthouse park. Its the central hub of downtown fresno to me. This last time i was there, just passing threw. I found a book. I looked inside to see if it was someones library book. Or, if there were any name of ownership in it. I found nothing of the kind. I started reading the book. Not even moments after picking it up off the ground, as i waited for a bus. "The Last Lecture ". By Randy Pausch. Within the first few sentences. I was in tears. I encourage you to look up this book. And see if you can control your emotions better then i. I am not finished with it yet. But i cant wait to read the end. This book, could be, life changing for me. And wether it is or not, will always, remind me of courthouse park. God Bless us all.

The trees are beautiful, this day was beautiful, it was surprisingly clean. I do wish there was more of a visual presence of security. As a person who is only down here for jury duty it would be nice to have that feeling of safety.

Service depends on who is on duty at time of visits. Great money saving coupons. Otherwise high prices. Hard seats. Few guests dining inside. Restrooms locked and few staff to ask for key. Predictable menu recipes.

May have been nice to visit at some moment in time, but more homeless pass through and it seems more concrete than park. I'm not sure it's worth improving as it's a pedestrian area giving access around downtown court and legal buildings. I don't think it's a place you would visit for anything other than that.

I actually really love the scenery around there, the city is also making a big difference around. You can't also relax downtown without the controversy of arrivals.

I don't really like this place, not at all. But I gotta go by or through it to catch the bus. You can just feel the absence of hope here

Sucks if you're going to court lol. However it's a beautiful part of downtown close to Fulton mall and places to eat. It's also a nice place to just sit and breath for a bit. Easy to get a ride as well since it is the connecting point for several buses

Went for Jury Duty. Park was clean, well kept, groomed, looked good! One suggestion: needs shade trees on the parkway facing the Police Station.

Park is nice. But the place is not the best place due to homeless population and just thugs that run around making it feel unsafe. Shame.

It’s nice to have a Courthouse that has a park all around it. It’s very peaceful. I don’t think the courthouse will be at the park much longer though because the state has authorized $750 million for a new Courthouse

Courthouse park is alright, just needs a little work done, it could be a beautiful place to hang out, and maybe a couple food trucks for the public.

Parking is limited. Be prepared to pay for parking whether with coins or card. Downtown will never improve until the City removes the meters. City employees are like DMV, very slow. And very few clerks available.

A decade ago I wouldn't have given much more than 2 stars! While traffic & parking are FRIGHTFUL... the place has cleaned out lots (not all) of the derelicts.

This building has not been updated in a long time except for the LCD TV's on the wall. It would be nice to have a restroom in the jury assembly room so as to avoid having to go through security at the courthouse. Time for some updates.

The line to get into the courthouse is ridiculously loooong. They really should come up with a more effective system for checking people in. I know the security there really tries to move people through quickly but I've waited in line for 1 hour + when it's at its busiest. I just feel like there's something they can do to get everyone in there faster. If you're having a bad day and youre supposed to be in the court room at 8:30 but you're running late for whatever reason (cause we all know stuff happens) you could potentially miss your case being called because you were stuck waiting in line. SMH.

Ok place, there's homeless sleeping around, but don't seem to bother anyone. Generally very clean. Bus stop there. A few snack n food vendors during working hours.

Long overdue for an update or full tear down. Building layout is very unsafe for physical safety and horrific for infectious disease mitigation. Recently updated the elevators but the rest of the building can not support the level of activity it’s subject to on a constant.

I had an appointment for something I legally should not have. But I'm glad I the clerks office is as far as I go. Because she is gorgeous, but serious.

It's actually a quiet place in the heart of downtown. There are no restrooms no playground, nothing like that but it's a main hub for the city bus routes

Very great atmosphere. Outdoors and full of birds an squirrels. Around lunch there are maybe food vendors by the back of the courthouse or the front. And is very accessible to get to through public transportation. Be weary of sometimes bums or altercations that might happen. But other then that. Very safe area to be around. Stay safe and take care of your business!

The courthouse isn't colorful or anything, but it is fun to walk underneath it & witness its sheer scale. There isn't much to do (unless you've got a court date), but the park is nice and usually clean. Best features: green grass, cool sculptures & memorials, bus stations, and proximity to other Downtown activities. Good spot for lunch when the weather's decent.

Only went for jury duty. This is not a place to hang out anymore. Full of suspicious people. I'm uncomfortable there now. 😕 it's just a interchange for the buses.and hang out for the homeless. There's one vendor there. $7.00 for a big hotdogs and a can of soda. Not to bad in this economy. I use to go here with friends in high-school. Have picnics. I would never take my grand kids here. No playground. No beautiful fountains or statues like the past. Is just for court people. 🙄. It's not a dog park thank God people will not puck up there dogs issues. I saw one picnic bench. Where are the other ones? I wish they brought back some things from the past. Made it a park again!

It's been many years since I've been to the court house. I took a friend this last time and it's very fast compared to my last visit, I'm happy with the changes.

2 hour meters bring someone with you or you would be chalked and ticketed. Go early not later on In the afternoon.

The Courthouse is holding up well and is a fine example of mid-century architecture. There are several memorials of local and national historical significance throughout the Corthouse grounds. The Courthouse also serves as a transfer hub for the City transit system. And there are a few food carts for a quick bite to eat. My only gripe is not with the Courthouse. My gripe is that the jury selection process by not utilizing the automated phone notification system to notify us that we did not have to be there for jury duty at 1:00 p.m wasted the time of approximately 30 people.

Never and already half way down my life, I'm not a fan of going to the court house. But I guess for everyone in general. Sometimes it's a good thing to show up or it can do a 360 turn in your life so fast don't know what hit you.

  • 1/5 Annette P. 1 year ago on Google
The only real parking for the Courthouse is in the underground parking garage and if you're disabled in anyway or have difficulty walking a distance then your just out of luck. The city should implement a trans system to go back and forth picking people up that need to go to court.

Fresno definitely prioritizes the landscaping out here. The sculptures are a beautiful touch too.

If you ask me the area needs alot of work. Respectfully we're behind in terms of modern solutions. Traffic Specifically.

It's okay. With no water running through the fountains the park is less attractive. The squirrels 🐿️ are fun to feed, they seem to like almonds the most from my research. A few homeless scattered around but not the usual begging constantly type. The cops are nearby so that's a added benefit. The county jail is also nearby which is a bit of an eyesore but it is what it is. No playgrounds, no visible bathrooms if your not a animal. Do not recommend picnics. Dog-friendly if your dog loves squirrels lol.
