Clean, and beautiful new ambiance is fresh in the tower district. A menu that allows you to order for not just yourself but has the option and instructions on how to store and share the flavors you will get. The tamales came unhusked and ready to eat with a fork. Tacos had delicious combinations of meat, vegetables, and tortilla. This is a must stop in tower district

VEGAN TAMALES! That's all you need to know. This is one of the best vegan spots I have ever been to. The tamales are incredibly flavorful and the service is amazing. You can make the salads fully vegan as well. Highly recommend the mushroom tamale. The Farmers Market is also good.

I had not visited for some time so the new site is very spacious and pleasant. The tamales are delicious as they have been for years.

So good! Main thing here are their tamales but the tacos are so good as well. I love the cauliflower tacos here, fried crispy and the perfect crunch. The tortillas are homemade. Everything is so high quality. We went for a la carte but you can also get as a plate with rice and beans. The prices are very reasonable. Their cocktail menu looks delicious, we shared the watermelon margarita and it was so refreshing. For $7 for a cocktail this is the best deal in Tower for amazing hand crafted quality drinks. I loved Casa De Tamales, same great food, kicked up a notch in presentation and atmosphere!

We stopped in here after arriving in Fresno and the food and service was amazing. Liz, the owner and Ruben, our server were awesome hosts. The food was excellent. We ate a total of 11 tacos and even got 3 to go!! Delish!!! So so yummy. Highly recommend this place for anyone, but especially for Celiacs and those with GF restrictions.

I definitely recommend this place, like half of the menu here is vegan 🌱 the sweet corn tamales were my favorite and Liz was really friendly and accommodating to us

Great location in Tower. Parking in a lot just next to the building. Good little shop size, hope they open up their back patio. If you have a group over 8, call ahead and let them know. Seating is a premium otherwise. The food is delicious, the staff is super helpful and accommodating. We had several people both gluten and corn free and they were more than happy to make changes and serve them. A dedicated gluten free Facility that knows how to handle items to prevent cross contamination is a wonderful find here. We ordered some of the family meals to feed a bunch of kids and parents. Everything was stellar and even picky kids had no qualms. Their cauliflower tacos and carnitas tamales stood out for me. The cauliflower was crispy, not oily at all. Full of flavor and filling. The tamales were fluffy and held together well. Everything tasted fresh and had a depth of flavor you can’t often find in foods with restrictions. The food was eaten so quickly I didn’t even get any pictures. Stop here if you’re in the area.

Pretty good food! I love the veggie options. The service was a little slow when we got our actual server though.

Just tried CDT for the 1st time, I got their Vegan tamales, one was spinach and artichoke and the other was portabello and brocolli, I got the beans and rice and Cucumber Lemonade with it. The tamales were good, I loved the pineapple salasa they added on top. The interior of the restaurant was really beautiful, nice place to have dinner. They also have a margarita bar, I got my food to go, I will have to dine in eventually. The service was great, located in the heart of Tower District in Fresno. I'LL be back to try their other vegan tamales. The rice was tasty and the beans were whole pinto beans, which I love. The two item plate was $10.50, very affordable. UPDATE: tried their Farmers Market and Sweet corn, my new fave duo! They also had a pineapple thyme lemonade that was AMAZING!

I was excited to go to the new location of the old Casa de Tamales, now CDT. We were there last for Christmas tamales when they were selling out of the back door of their present location. It is a beautiful place, much better than their former store front... I wanted to love it like I used to love their food, but alas, it was not the same: the sweet corn tamale was not sweet and rather dry, even after pouring the sauce over it. The rice was undercooked and did not have much taste. My sons did enjoy their chicken tamales and the vegan portobello and the artichoke and spinach, as well as the jalapeño and cheese, The saving grace was the chips & guacamole, which had a nice bite to it, but too many onions. Perhaps we visited on an off night.

Best tamales ever ! I have been going to CDT for almost 10 years now. The tamales are not made with lard. There's vegan, vegetarian and regular meat options. The service is always great! I look forward to ordering tamales for the holidays! (2 tamales and a fresh Mexican drink for under $10)

The barbacoa and carnitas are full of flavor, and are some of the best I've had in town. The chicken was moist but wasn't nearly as flavorful, but still decent. The habanero pesto fries are an absolute must.

My favorite place to make memories and reconnect with friends! They make excellent unique alcoholic drinks, the pesto habanero fries are a must. You know the food is good when mostly everyone is chatty and loud & then your conversations take a break to relish in the food. Best tamales ever, hands down. I’m a bit biased because I’ve been enjoying Liz’s tamales since 2014 or so. If you’re vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, pescatarian , etc she’s got options for all of those preferences. By far my favorite is the chicken poblano & cauliflower taco. Honestly everything is amazing here. This is the one place that feels like coming to my hometown and eating a relatives best cooking. That’s how comforting and good it is.

The tamales are worth the trip alone. They had Halloween themed cocktails which were delicious. Lots of gluten free options I would recommend it to anyone or everyone
