A beautiful, smaller museum by Berlin standards, which is of course mainly dedicated to the work of Georg Kolbe. It's not just "the craft" that is presented in a very educational way. There is also a great insight into private life. But there are always other artists who are presented here. It's worth a visit.

A gem in Berlin Westend. The Georg Kolbe Museum is worth visiting if there is an exhibition or if you “just” want to go to the cafe. The building and the large garden with the sculptures by Georg Kolbe alone radiate a wonderful sense of calm. The beautiful, clear house was originally Georg Kolbe's studio. A dream!!! The current exhibition on Tilla Durieux is very selected with great portraits. I wasn't aware of her life in detail. I picked up a lot and learned a lot. An exciting museum that I certainly won't visit for the last time, especially because the café on site is also great.

Small gallery with selected artist on exhibition regularly. Nice the cafe in the dépendance and the garden with sculptures perfect in warm season. The former owner was a sculptor with some abilities but what makes that place interesting are mainly the periodic exhibitions like that of Mona Hatoum a truly innovative performer artist internationally recognised.

Always an experience. The exposition, but also the building itself with its attached café. There map and cake are worth a visit. On top of that comes friendliness.

Always worth seeing special exhibitions in a quiet place in the old west. A small café is suitable for relaxed post-reflection.

female body sculpture adorns this small museum in a residential neighborhood. cafe k is in a separate building with a very nice menu in a delightful garden setting. beware smokers are still allowed to distribute their second hand smoke in the outdoor patio area.

Only 4 or 5 medium rooms with art. Tickets relatively expensive 7 Eur per adult. Nice garden with sculptures.

A nice place in the Preußenviertel/Berlin-Westend. The garden with the sculptures by Georg Kolbe is worth a visit alone. The special exhibition about Tilla Durieux is very well designed. Lots of information about the actress' eventful life. After visiting the exhibition you can pamper yourself in the café. A large selection of cakes 🎂 and other dishes. Everything in picture quality.

A serene place with its own spirit. The collection of Kolbe's sculptures are, although limited, quite fascinating. They have a liveliness to them that truly entices. The garden is half of the exhibition, with several sculptures and its contemplating atmosphere.

Very nice modernist building and always very well curated sculpture shows. The cafe K next door is underrated and very special. Both together are worth a day trip and the sculpture park nearby completes the visit.

It is a nice but small museum. Unique for the neighborhood and with a cafe just across the garden. Most visitors visit the museum and then the cafe.

Magnificent museum and showcase of Georg Kolbe sculptures inside what was his house and in the fabulous garden as well as of other artists. Fantastic cafe in the garden with delicious cakes and great lentil salad I enjoyed. A special time in this grand space. Nevertheless bothered by Kolbe’s association with the Nazis, which was a big turnoff.

Small, fine museum with an exhibition that currently appeals to me. I took my time with the video installations. They impressed me. Next door is a café with small dishes made from regional ingredients. Looked nice but didn't visit.

They always have good exhibition here. Atelier of Georg Kolbe is now functioned as Museum, house is used as cafe or event space. Especially the garden with statues and fountain transfers the feeling and stories through ages.

Nice cafe, but the museum is not worth the visit. Georg Kolbe is a magnificent sculptor, but the exhibition was temporarily about Ikemura, very poor. Also the building restoration has not been executed properly: dramatic bad window replacements. Not recommended.

The museum is very small filled with sculptures. Very little to read or view. The employees were also not so welcoming. One asked us impolitely to put our backpacks in the lockers since it's not allowed in the rooms. The cafe beside the museum would be a better destination.

(Translated by Google) Georg Kolbe (Waldheim, April 15, 1877 - Berlin, November 20, 1947) was a German painter and sculptor. The best known work is certainly the bronze sculpture Morgen (dawn) placed in a corner of the water mirror inside the German pavilion designed by Mies van der Rohe for the 1929 Barcelona Universal Exhibition. The Georg Kolbe Museum was built by Geolge Kolbe in 1928/1929 as his home and atelier, in a district not far from the center of Berlin, easily accessible by public transport. The architectural complex, with the main body in exposed brick, fits into the context of modern Berlin architecture. The large outdoor garden, used as a scultural garden, houses various works by Kolbe himself. Inside, large white rooms on two floors, works by Kolbe and other sculptors from the first half of the 20th century are exhibited and temporary exhibitions are periodically organized. The presence of a bar allows you to spend a nice afternoon and stay longer than a visit to the small museum might require.
