This is the only negative review I have ever written… with that… Beer is great, I wish I could have had more, but whoever the woman was working on 1/1/24 at 1900 was mean and rude as hell… our friend is gluten free so we asked for wine and she said “this is a craft beer bar, you shouldn’t be here if you don’t drink beer,” even though there was wine on the counter. I didn’t think I needed to say our friend was allergic to gluten so I didn’t say anything, bc she has already made it very awkward. She also asked for a tip after she served us with an attitude, many sighs, and complained about having to pour wine for us in both German and English loud enough for us to hear, and rolled her eyes at us after we told her “I’m so sorry” many times. It made the entire experience awful and gut wrenching…. I hope no one ever has to encounter her again. She basically ruined our entire experience here and night out… after we finished our one drink we IMMEDIATELY left. Really disappointed in my new year starting with meeting her.

Nice selection of beers but they cost around 7-8 euros for a big beer on tap (some beers are 0.3 at this price) and 10-12 for a can. Not really helpful staff in terms of selection of beers and actually rude in communication overall.

It's a cool spot with good service and a lot of different craft beers on tap, by the brewery and guest taps. The bartender was nice and helpful with the menu, he also provided samples if you weren't sure about which beer you might want. I did have three different IPA's here, one was great, another was good, and the final one wasn't. They also had cans available to go.

The bartender was extremely rude. As soon as we walked in she left and then was so mean when she was taking our order. She then proceeded to ask for a tip even though she was so awful. The beer was very good and we would've loved to order more, but the service was so awful it ruined the entire experience.

Great beers, expensive but expected for craft brewery. Adding one star as it's a non smoking bar, which could easily make this my favorite place, however, both times i went here the atmosphere was so bad, dead, and more than anything staff seemed miserable. I love craft beer and I love asking questions to the staff and both times I went here I thought to myself just get your beer and go. To be clear, I don't blame bartenders one bit, but it makes you wonder who are they working for, how well they are paid, etc. They don't seem happy working there and it's affecting the bad atmosphere of the bar, or at least adding to it..

Went here and felt at home. So many different micro-breweries beer to try! I had the best beer I've ever tasted here, and I'm sad I can't take it home with me, haha. Super nice staff, allowed samples when I couldn't decide.

Apparently was the first day with wearing no masks in bars in Berlin... great location and crazy good beer selection, they even propose their own beers brewed in Berlin. Lovely dancing team as well, definitely not a conventional craft beer place and thanks god. I’ll be back for sure !

They had a really great selection of beers from several countries when I went. The staff were having fun and conversing with us about beers and breweries around the world. They knew their stuff.

Protokoll has 24 craft beers on tap of various kinds. The staff is fun, helpful and it seems they love what they do. We booked the place for 20 people, they are responsive on Maps' contact function too. They offered to arrange food for the group as well through a vendor (there's no kitchen at the place). Absolutely recommended!

Awesome beer selection (mostly non german ones though) No beer flights, but they can do half pours which is pretty much the same as a sampler imho. You can also ask to try the beers before ordering. Bar is owned by a russian (zagovor brewery) so theres a lot of their beer on the menu

One of my most recent brewery infatuations runs a sleek little taproom on the Berlin East Side. Citra and Simcoe dominating the board. A few Gammas and Superfreunde alongside the Protokolls. Ample little beer fridge showcasing some of the recent Protokoll cans. Went for the Not Answering Calls and who am I to resist some more Viagra Boys so Short Shorts was a given as well.

Great selection of beers with a lot of variety in flavour, fun music, and a really good atmosphere. Staff were very nice, covid protocols were very sensible so it felt like a safe place to drink. Will definitely go back again in future next time I’m in Berlin!
