This is one of the best place I have seen in Berlin. You will find many people capturing photographs and selfies here as the place is scenic. You'll have to take a quit long walk from tram station to reach here.

The building itself is already impressive after surviving the world war 2. If you love Egyptian, Greek, and Roman history, this is a must go! The museum offers a very useful device for a map and information about the exhibition, pictures and the details to most important pieces and you can choose your languages. It's took a few hours to finish the tour, but it was worthwhile. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Wow! What a sight to behold! This building is Amazing! We went to the Greek museum, interesting artefacts, so beautifully preserved/presented. The staff members were, very pleasant, helpful, especially when I said I was just learning German, very patient. One gentleman in particular he was attending outside- herr Kreuze? I think his name was, he was very chatty, speaking to us in.both English and German. Loved this place! Thank you so much! Highly recommended!

**Museum Island Berlin: A Journey Through Time, Culture, and Heritage** Berlin, the capital city of Germany, stands as a testament to the rich tapestry of history and culture that has woven itself into the fabric of this metropolis. Among the many treasures that Berlin holds, none is more significant than the Museum Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site that stands at the heart of the city. This unique ensemble of museums is a celebration of human creativity, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge. Join us on a virtual journey through the corridors of time as we explore the fascinating world of Museum Island Berlin. ### **A Historical Panorama:** Nestled along the River Spree, Museum Island is a small yet powerful archipelago of culture and heritage. Its roots trace back to the 19th century when Prussian King Frederick William IV envisioned a cultural haven that would showcase the richness of human history. The island comprises five world-renowned museums: the Altes Museum, Neues Museum, Alte Nationalgalerie, Bode Museum, and the Pergamon Museum. Each of these institutions houses a treasure trove of artifacts that spans millennia and continents. ### **Altes Museum: The Temple of Antiquities:** Our journey begins with the Altes Museum, the oldest on Museum Island. Designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel, this neoclassical masterpiece serves as a testament to the fascination with antiquity that gripped 19th-century Europe. The museum's collection boasts an impressive array of classical sculptures, Greek and Roman antiquities, and artifacts that transport visitors back to the cradle of Western civilization. ### **Neues Museum: The Rise from Ashes:** Adjacent to the Altes Museum stands the Neues Museum, a phoenix that rose from the ashes of World War II. Severely damaged during the conflict, the Neues Museum underwent meticulous restoration, culminating in its reopening in 2009. Home to the iconic bust of Queen Nefertiti, the museum encapsulates the essence of ancient civilizations, with exhibits ranging from prehistory to the Byzantine era. ### **Alte Nationalgalerie: Romanticism and Beyond:** Perched atop a majestic staircase, the Alte Nationalgalerie is a temple of art that showcases the evolution of European painting from the 19th to the early 20th century. Romantic landscapes, Realist depictions, and the luminosity of Impressionist works grace the walls, offering a comprehensive view of the artistic movements that shaped the continent during a transformative period. ### **Bode Museum: Bridging Art and Culture:** As we traverse the Museum Island landscape, the Bode Museum beckons with its distinctive dome and a diverse collection that blurs the lines between art and artifact. Sculptures, Byzantine art, and a vast numismatic collection find a harmonious home within these walls. The Bode Museum stands as a testament to the interconnectedness of artistic expression across time and space. ### **Pergamon Museum: Ancient Wonders and Cultural Crossroads:** Our journey concludes with the Pergamon Museum, an architectural marvel that transports visitors to the ancient worlds of Mesopotamia, Greece, and Rome. The Pergamon Altar, the Ishtar Gate, and the Market Gate of Miletus stand as awe-inspiring witnesses to the grandeur of ancient civilizations. This museum, named after the ancient city of Pergamon, offers a unique experience of walking through archaeological sites without leaving the heart of Berlin. ### **A Modern Vision for the Future:** As we reflect on the cultural pilgrimage through Museum Island, it is crucial to acknowledge ongoing efforts to preserve and enhance this cultural haven. The Humboldt Forum, a modern cultural complex adjacent to Museum Island, continues the legacy of knowledge dissemination and cultural exchange. Conceived as a space for dialogue, the Humboldt Forum aims to foster understanding among diverse cultures and promote a global perspective on human history. Usefull? Follow Mollow Like Mike:)

Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin. Gustav Klimt, Max Liebermann, Franz von Stuck und andere Künstler aus dieser Zeit. Die Originale machen einen fantastischen Eindruck. Das Warten hat sich gelohnt. Das nächste Mal besser mit Online Ticket.

Absolutely beautiful art. The history is very interesting. The museum workers were very kind and patient. I went on a Saturday and it wasn't very crowded. Some people brought small children, which I wouldn't exactly recommend due to how quiet the museum is, but there is a small kids activity at the end of the museum.

(Translated by Google) The Museum Island is a particularly large pearl in the chain of Berlin museums and Berlin sights in general. From the Bode Museum to the Pergamon Museum: All museums are absolutely worth seeing - not just from the exhibitions, but also architecturally - and well worth a visit. This museum landscape testifies to an ingenious decision by the ancestors - and in my opinion represents an alternative to the Louvre.

(Translated by Google) That doesn't need a comment and speaks for itself - somewhere in the "50 stars" category! Mandatory! Special recommendation on a slightly foggy, pale night ..... gladly even under a full moon, that has a unique atmosphere that can also be captured photographically with the help of a tripod. Highly recommended. The exhibitions can also be given during the day ;-) (Original) Das braucht keinen Kommentar und spricht - irgendwo in der Kategorie "50 Sterne" für sich! Pflicht!

It's an impressive experience to visit the island of museums. We bought a ticket that allows us to visit several on the same day, with a small discount 💶. At the same time as everything seems incredible and from more ancient civilisations than we imagine, the question arises as to who owns certain pieces in the museums.

On the northern half of the Spree island you stumble across the large museums with famous, appealing collections. The five museums built between 1824 and 1930, are the realization of a visionary project of the Age of Enlightenment and show the evolution of approaches to museum design over the course of the 20th century. Reason for UNESCO to include the Museum Island in their World Heritage List. The most recent additions, the James-Simon-Galerie (2019) and the Humboldt Forum (2020), are not on the list, but are an integral part of the five museums. If you want to visit all five, I advise you to take plenty of time, it is no sinecure!

History at its finest. You are surrounded by such a vast collection through time, cultures and humans it is impossible not to take some time for it. It should cost you 2-4 days to visit all of them without a constant rush but for very detailed visits it sure won‘t suffice.

(Translated by Google) There are five museums: the Old Museum, the New Museum, the Old National Gallery, the Bode Museum, and the Pergamon Museum. It is impossible to see them all in one day. I could only take a day, so I ended up looking at five museums. By the way, in terms of the time required, the old museum: the new museum: the old National Museum: the Bode Museum: the Pergamon Museum = 1: 2: 2: 1: 4. If you want to visit all museums in a day for sightseeing, you can buy a one-day ticket. This ticket will enter all five museums. On the contrary, I think that it is also ant to focus on one or two museums. The Pergamon Museum is the most recommended. There is only a Japanese audio guide in this museum (September 2019).
