The very clear menu (actually a good sign) includes classics such as tarte flambée, exciting-sounding starters with octopus and main courses including truffle pasta, cod or veal tagliata - all at very high prices. In terms of taste, the dishes fell more into the solid but harmless category. There was a lack of sophistication or cleverness in the preparation. This was already evident with the standard slices of bread and the unconvincing dip. Sometimes the taste is just boring. Overall, we hoped for significantly more and expected more, especially given the high prices. The kitchen currently offers no reason to visit again. Similar picture with service. The service staff was friendly and helpful. At the same time, it was clear that they were overwhelmed at all times. Anyone who only attaches any importance to professional service at this point will quickly be disappointed (also taking the Corona consequences into account). Two no-gos: there was no information about the 2-G rule in advance. Although we welcomed this step, the visit could end surprisingly badly for some guests at the entrance. Additionally, card payments are not supported. For total amounts well over €100, this is absurd and not up to date. Both information should definitely have been communicated in advance when making the reservation. Conclusion: benevolent three stars, especially in the hope of improving the service in the future and adjusting the price/performance ratio of the food. Currently, the supposedly high standards are not met by either the food or the service provided.

Great and delicious food. We ordered 3 different dishes, everything tasted very solid! The service was very nice and accommodating. The ambience in the Bergedorf castle courtyard and in the castle itself is very beautiful and stylish. We really enjoyed the evening! Thank you very much for that and we would be happy to come back. Unfortunately, you still get a star deduction because we don't provide any bread in advance. with the soup and I would have liked to have had two more dishes on the menu. For example, an Alsatian tarte flambée or another meat dish and not just a roast and that's it. See you soon!

Very tasty... very well attended... the boss had everything under control and we had a very attentive and courteous waiter... sure, it's not cheap but you can expect something special at Bergedorfer Schloss... I think it fits great! better than the café before... and in addition to the café on everyone's lips, definitely a win for Bergedorf!!! We really liked it, we'll be back :) AND: card payment IS possible!!!

Not recommended for lunch - unfriendly and slow service. We were full of expectations based on the positive reporting and media reports so far. Apparently the restaurant is currently only geared towards evening events and does not have the necessary capacity for proper catering during the day. A pity.

We celebrated a 90th birthday with 30 adults and 9 children. Everyone was thrilled by the attentive, friendly service and the delicious food (starter platters; duck, fish, lamb and vegetables; dessert. coffee and cake) The rooms are beautiful anyway. But also romantic for two. Is the restaurant bed worth it?

I would like to write something about the delicious food and great atmosphere, but unfortunately I can't. We had made reservations early for the Sunday brunch, which only takes place once a month. Then we were canceled a week in advance because some event had come up. I think it's a disgrace! We won't have been the only ones who had reservations. As a "guest" (which I'm not allowed to be) you feel stupid when an event announced at such short notice is prioritized. If there are already various reservations, in my opinion there is simply no capacity for a short-term event. To make matters worse, this Sunday brunch was announced again on Instagram AFTER we were cancelled. What now? Is there an event that warrants cancellation or not???

Es war wie immer ein Genuss. Von Anfang bis Ende einfach hervorragend. Zuvorkommend beim Service, Weinberatung, leckeres Essen. Wir waren rundum zufrieden.

The place was recommended by a friend living in Hamburg. We had no booking and five of us managed to eat in the bar on Saturday as there was an event in the restaurant. It was very comfy, the staff were friendly and funny, and food was superb! We had a grilled sausage in a slightly spicy tomato sauce, with beautifully smelling truffles, grilled cherry tomatoes, rosti potatoes and delicious a la coleslaw salad with some orange flavour. It was so yummy, amazing flavours! We didn’t wait long for it to be served. Red wine was also good :) It was a lovely experience from start to finish. We can highly recommend this place and hopefully we will be back 👍😊
