After visiting Fuengirola on many occasions, we decided to give Picoteo a try. It is always worth trying new restaurants as occasionally you find sonething special and with Picoteo that was just the case. Outside it just looks like another eating establishment but inside it becomes something else. Any restaurant using cloth napkins is normally a cut above or certainly wants to be and Picoteo has succeeded in creating a fine establishment with efficient and friendly service with amazing food. The menu is extensive and after one meal which could not be faulted, there is plenty of other dishes to try and there is something for everyone. The octopus was the best I have had and the desserts deserve a special mention as desserts can be hit or miss in Spain but at Picoteo they are hitting a bullseye so make sure you leave room! We definately will return on our next holiday and Picoteo is a hidden gem in 'Post Office Square' in Fuengirola.

Cosy, great food and a good variety of wines. The side dish I ordered was no longer available when they served our food which would be great to be informed about whilst ordering, but the kitchen solved it beautifully. The wine we order had a higher price on the bill than in the menu, which also got fixed when noticing the waiter about it. Only thing that we were not satisfied with was paying 2,25€/person for a tiny slice of bread.

An amazing restaurant, small portions but wow was the food good. We had many different options of food but the best were the chicken skewers and the potatoes bravas. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff were truly kind and nice. The service was outstanding and the waiters were very friendly and helpful towards us. We had an amazing experience here and would definitely recommend.

I've never given a 1-star before, and I'm not happy to do so now, but this experience was not good. We'd reserved a table for seven people, and got three small ones pushed together. Totally okay, except one of the tables was extremely wobbly and the ones seated there couldn't possibly eat or drink off of it. Our waiter didn't really seem to care and told us there was nothing he could do. So we removed it with a group effort and sat at two tables instead, one of them slightly wobbly too. One of us ordered salmon tartar, and as he ate he thought it tasted like meat. He asked the waiter, and as it turned out it was indeed meat. He had specifically ordered salmon and even showed a picture of the menu when he ordered. Then three (!) of our meals never showed up. Two of us only got the starter salad and none of their main courses, and the other only got the wrong tartar and no main course! When 1.5 hours had passed we asked the waiters what happened to these three meals, and they told us "the spaghettis were on their way". But none of us had ordered any spaghetti... They had mistaken or forgotten the three meals, which never arrived because after all this we just wanted to leave and go somewhere else. Our waiter didn't even write our orders down, and we were seven people. Had he done so perhaps this wouldn't have happened. The other waiter, a woman, was apologetic and removed the meat tartar from the bill, thankfully. The four of us who actually got our food liked it, but the mistakes, forgotten meals, long wait and disinterested attitude from the male waiter sadly pulls the review down to 1 star. 😞 For their prices we expected a much better experience!

We came because our friend praised the place. The setting and service are good and the interior is stylish. Very high quality drinks at reasonable prices. My portion was tasty but too much mayonnaise for my liking 🤣! An extensive list of different foods and quality ingredients.

We had some food to share and it was good. Pimientos padron were good and good quantity. The chicken tears were also good and the sauce was great. The ceviche was interesting and good. Service was friendly and good too. Offered a digestive in the end. Bonus.

The wine menu is very confusing. Requested a wine menu, it only had glass prices. You had to scan a code to get bottle prices. Its very difficult trying to match up the menu lists with the online lists. Why dont you just have a wine list with prices, not everyone has a phone! The jamon, ham was on a plastic leg, it was fairly dry and tough, packet I think. The salad was nice. The carpaccio beef was ok but a bit bloody which put me off a bit. I think it's a bit expensive for the quality of food you get. Friendly staff.

One word: carpaccio. We are the type of people who go to different restaurants for starters and mains. This place is our starters place. We usually just get the beef carpaccio because it's just so good and made with love. It's perfectly made to our taste.

Lovely food and drinks if a bit pricey, unfortunately it was very disorganized when we visited. Big mistake with one of our courses, while they tried to rectify it they then messed up the bill. Again, lovely food but frustrating!

Very disappointed for service. I booked a table for 7 persons to Wednesday by phone in Tuesday and got confirmation by textmessage in Wednesday afternoon. When we arrived to restaurant 7pm. it was closed! No body had informed me about that. You can think how humiliated I was in my guest eyes.

The place looks nice but that’s about it. The menu is a mess with a mix of Asian, middle eastern and European dishes presented in a confusing way. Some of the dishes were tasteless and other were downright inedible. Looked nice though. But worst of all was the service. Slow and unprofessional. Waiter was more interested in folding napkins than to wait on tables. Sadly we didn’t read the reviews before sitting down, but surprised seeing all the negative reviews mentioning the bad service and still no improvement.

Picoteo is most definitely my favorite restaurant in Fuengirola. Not only is the interior hip and trendy, the service is fantastic. Every time we come here the waiters are super friendly and the food is exquisite! I love this place and recommend it to everyone!

Great place to drink, eat, and generally watch the world go by. We had a very lazy lunch here with fabulous fresh crab, fizzy drinks (??), and G&T. Can be booked ahead which I'd recommend as does get busy, take a table outside if you don't mind the sun.

We ate a heavenly good ceviche with tiger milk, best ever! I ordered a new drink that they created it for me with inspiration and eagerness - and they succeeded! It was a almond liquor sour drink. OMG so good! The staff was professional, fast and friendly. We definitely recommend this place in the middle of the city in Fuengirola.
