Fantastic food with incredible mixes of flavor ranging from their own take of spring roll to wagyu to dessert jelly. The unagi or eel was especially delicious. A very important feature is that they provide fantastic service even to foreigners. They even keep in mind whether you are left handed or right handed while also explaining the different dishes they serve you over the course of the meal. Overall a great experience and well recommended if you are in the area of Akasaka or anywhere in Tokyo!

Enjoyed the experience. The dishes in the beginning lacked a little punch for me... Balance was just a bit of, needed a bit more acidity etc. But the mid to end of the meal was excellent. The mackerel dish and the beef dish were both outstanding. As was the optional noodle dish with Sakura ( I think ) shrimp.

Fantastic kaiseki experience at a great price. The food is great and inventive, showcasing the chef's skills. Very English friendly. As the chef worked overseas, patrons are about 50% foreign from my experience. Drink pairings were great and very affordable.

Was a very expensive meal but one we enjoyed and loved every bite. We got to enjoy a nice range of fish served in different ways and a nice selection of sake and other spirits. The host was very nice and was very good at speaking and understanding English. This was by far the highlight of our trip in Japan and one we wont forget anytime soon.

The food is an absolute delight. The staffs are very friendly. Not easy to book - so make sure plan well ahead (we booked 2 months in advance). It is worth the wait. We are glad to have experienced this meal and will definitely be back!

We were very disappointed as we did not manage to get a reservation here despite 2 attempts via a premium credit card concierge. We got turned away because our reservation was for 2 adults and 1 child although we made it clear that all 3 of us would be having the omakase set menu - the restaurant’s response was as follows, “Unfortunately, our restaurant does not accept reservations for guests including children.” The restaurant’s website was misleading, to quote one of the reservation policy, “we have a standard for receiving for children who can eat Omakase set menu as same as adults eat”. We seriously hope others do not get misled like us and suggest for the restaurant to be consistent in their messaging.

Excellent omakase. Beautiful presentation and atmosphere. Quite casual and relaxed for a traditional Japanese degustation and experimental to some extent but still keeping the food delicious and simple.

One of the best meals we've ever had. I made a request ahead of time about the menu and they were so accommodating. The food & service were top notch. Really, really excellent.

The food here is simply amazing! It's a small place and even though we had no reservation we were able to get a table. The staff is very friendly and funny ;-) we had the chef's menu consisting of 9 courses. You can choose to pair them with wines, sakes or a combination. We had the combination and it was great! You get sakes from different areas in Japan and the Japanese red wine was a revelation!

A wonderful hidden quality seasonal Omakase restaurant overlooking the old samurai distinct in Akasaka. Chef Hideki and Kota San were the delightful duo leading this concept. The food was skilfully prepared featuring the best of the season with some signature dishes. A lot of care and thought goes into every dish, both in presentation and taste. My favourites were their crab chawamushi, tuna tartar and anago sushi. Instead of getting the alcohol pairing we wanted to try different types of sake and left it to Kota san to recommend. He did not disappoint with his suggestions. Besides regional and even seasonal sakes, we tried the the sparkling sake. Highly recommended!

Absolutely great! This one-star Michelin restaurant is worthy of it's star. The food presentation is wonderful, the tast of each dish is unique. It gets accompanied by great wines and sake. Reserve your seat well in advance because just popping up for a meal won't work (via omakase website). I know dishes will change but the pictures might give you an impression.

Insanely tasty and worth the price in my opinion. English friendly and we had a great time interacting with the chefs and the host. Definitely a splurge as we did the wine pairing and paid about $250 USD each. That said, it was 5-6 very generous pours of expensive wine so more than justified the additional cost. Highly recommend for a splurge night out

This is a must try. From the moment you walk down the garden path to the entry of the restaurant until the owner sees you out the door once you are finished, you are looked after every moment you are there. Wine and sake are superb and the food cannot be faulted. Truely fine dining from a restaurant owner whos love for food really shows just by the care taken to prepare each dish. Highly recommend, it is not just dinner it a experience.

Very quality driven with a staff that makes you feel at home and attended to from the moment you arrive to the point you depart. The chef is creative with his preparations and serves the most high quality of protein. Chef is also owner. Highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Tokyo!

(Translated by Google) Although the dishes served at the Akasaka neighborhood are reasonable, the dishes offered are all creative and delicious. There is also a selection of sake that goes well with the dishes, so it's a shop that you'll want to visit every season. Lovely dinner at Shirosaka.❤️ Beautiful delightful kappo-ryouri with a sweet little garden to lookout onto. The entrance has stone slabs leading to the door away from the street that transport you to a more quiet and elegant place the moment you slide the wooden doors aside and enter. The food is called kappo-ryouri, a more casual type of kaiseki. The restaurant is fun and lively with international flair as the chef used to be the Ambassador’s chef in New York. Thank you and Congratulations on the Michelin Star!🌟 #shirosaka #白坂 #kapporyori #割烹料理

Terrible experience! I would advise absolutely nobody to go eat here. It says there is a great taste of BBQ but could not find it anywhere here. Staff was terrible and not interested in telling us anything about the pairing or the dishes. The only alcohol free drink was iced tea without sugar. The bill was just written on a piece of paper and the seats were really uncomfortable. I don’t know which Michelin inspector decided to give them the star but minus 1 would fit this mess way better. First course: - Alcohol Pairing terrible - Course was very tasteless, chewy and not exciting Second course: - Alcohol pairing terrible - No structures in the dish, use of expensive ingredients didn’t add anything to the dish. Third course: - Alcohol pairing even worse then before - Combination of flavours ok, but too big chunk of unexplained vegetables Fourth Course: - Alcohol pairing was ok - Buttery sauce way too thin and so it didn’t have a great taste. Morilles not cleaned, potato very boring. Fifth Course: - Alcohol pairing not good again - Cheap cut of wagyu which was cooked way too far. Sauce to runny no good in this dish. Dessert: - Alcohol pairing didn’t even come close to matching the ingredients - The most tasteless dish I ever ate in my life. The glass of water on the table was even tastier. It was just a jelly of water with some maple syrup. We paid 120.000 yen for 4 persons, it was the worst experience we ever had. Owner of the restaurant was drunk and the kitchen had more glasses of wine then we had in the time we were there. Came here all the way from Europe. It was absolutely a waste of time, money and my hunger

I have been going to Shirosaka since it first opened, and can say without reservation that it is one of the best restaurants for the money anywhere in the city. Service quality is consistently high without being pretentious, as is the food, which changes with the seasons. I have brought guests from around the world, and everyone has been more than satisfied. They can make gluten-free and vegetarian or vegan meals on request, and I’ve been told that the substitutions are very good. I was both happy for them and a bit sad for myself when they received a Michelin star. Very much deserved. A second one would also be.

Went to Shirosaka just before New Year and what a wonderful experience. Delightful food and perfectly paired wines and Sakes. One of the best dining experiences we have ever had , and we have done a lot of Michelin rated restaurants. A real credit to Hideki and his team...one of the best!

Great culinary experience in this very small restaurant. The set menu is reinterpreting great Japanese produce in appealing dishes which contonously play with different textures and tastes. (Translated by Google) Michelin 1-star shops (specially good shops in the field) Certainly the food is delicious, but the insects flew into the store, there was a fly in sake (was it exactly what I washed out?), Or the insects on the coffin I went with. (The dead insect) Also, it is difficult to pass the order a little. (This may be due to the fact that my voice is rather small.) It's getting warm, so I'm sorry that there are a lot of insects, but it's a shame because I'm trying to change and not a cheap shop.

Nice place and not too hard to find. A good friend told me that when you have good food you need to have the best ingredients that compliment one another. Shirosaka definitely has all the ingredients as bffs. Chef E is nice and he is bilingual, having great food with a English speaking chef is bonus!
