The workers are extremely caring, this restaurant has deep community roots, serving many aspects beyond food. Sure the chandeliers don’t match, tables don’t match, and chairs don’t match, making one wonder if they thrifted the whole restaurant…The FOOD however, does not fall short of what you’d expect to be there for you on a perfect mellow Sunday morning. The food taste clean, their ingredients, as I found out reading about their story on their brochure as I ate, is grown by local farmers who partner with the workers. The chicken doesn’t use hormones or antibiotics, they have fresh fruit, overall food I didn’t feel bad about eating, it felt clean. Great location, great ambiance, great service, great food. Thanks :)

Came here on a whim. Absolutely was not disappointed. This big open room is not fancy, the chairs don’t match. All the chandeliers are different and it looks like it was thrown together at the last minute. Then you get your food. I don’t know what magic they use to pack so much flavor in these tasty dishes. The food, the decor, or even the building is not what makes this place special. It’s the staff, they hire at risk youth to give them life skills and prepare them for life.

Met a friend here for brunch. I got the SoCal burrito. My friend got some egg sandwich with sausage and home potatoes. The food was served very quickly and was hot and yummy. The place was clean. And the seating area is very open. As we left, it got crowded and there was a line. Staff was very nice. Parking is limited but there is parking available on the streets and around the neighborhood.

I have eaten breakfast at literally thousands of places across the nation and I am always on the look out for a new hidden gem. This was not it. Don't even think about pulling into the parking lot with an SUV, you will block the whole thing, as some one did. Although the food was decent, service was almost nonexistent. I guess there is a certain crowd they cater to based on the limited menu. The restaurant seemed to be set up for indoor fast food at above average prices. My wife got a coffee drink and it may as well came from McDonalds, again nothing special. We tried sitting outside but the trees seemed to be raining bugs. So we moved inside. Cute decor. Overall not a good experience, not a bad one. I just don't see any reason to go back.

We come here all the time because it is right in front of our apartment complex. I know that service wasn’t always the best, but we liked the food and the coffee. And today we decided to invite some of our friends here, and we were just beyond embarrassed for recommending the place. The skinny girl that wears glasses she’s beyond rude all the time, rushes while you make your order and rolls her eyes every-time she takes your order and I think specially with her it has something to do with race, cuz I have seen her treating white folk way better or at least smiled, none of the servers do anything to provide at least mediocre customer service, and that paying restarting prices for my self serve diner. I won’t be coming to this place because You never feel like you’re being treated as human being. Sad to think how much business we gave them over 2 years.

Non profit restraunt that serves great food at a good price!!! Went for brunch today and it was so yummy! Parking is always difficult, but well worth the park and walk! Stroller friendly, but I would recommend leaving outside or in the car as space is limited. Wheelchair friendly. High chairs provided. I recommend sharing the pancake platter and going for one of the more unique items as your main meal. It was a good value!

Every time we eat here it is a great experience. People are so friendly. The food is good and the portions are large. The best thing of all is it is supporting a great charity. You cannot beat that.

Went for Sunday morning breakfast. Breakfast bowl make-up was different, thought I would try it. Tasty but don't think I will order it next time. The tater tots was the interesting addition.

I'm not going to lie, at first I was actually excited that my Fiance picked an awesome bruch spot since I only get to see him every other weekend due to his busy work schedule it was supposed to be a treat for us both. We were greeted by the sweetest Young Person who gave us menus and advised us to sit anywhere we wanted. The decor was so cute and welcoming, even though it had mismatched chairs and silverware, it still felt like home. The downside is you have to give your order at the counter and then you're given a table number and its brought out to you. I wanted a waffle so bad and my fiance loves skillet meals. He ordered our food as I sat and said my morning prayers, being interrupted by him to make sure my order was correct lol. Our food came out and I received the roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs and sausage. I waited for my waffle to come, but Instead I received a pancake. When I advised our server of the mistake, she advised the guy behind the counter who took the order and our money of the issue and to his reply "they ordered a pancake, well if they want a waffle we can change it".....(side eye). His response to his own error baffled me and I couldn't even eat anymore. The potatoes were hard and undercooked and I just didn't and could not enjoy the rest of my meal, either could my fiance, so we asked for to go plates and went somewhere else. I took the food home to my kids and to my surprise they didn't even want it either. Hopefully your experience is better then ours but we will never go here again.

Super impressed with this spot. Ordered our food and within 5 mins it was at our table. Delicious, cooked right, every thing we asked for and large portions. We order the pulled pork huevos racheros and breakfast tacos, SO good. Customer service was on point, we saw a table leave and within 60 seconds there was 4 different staff all helping to clean the table and get it ready for the next guests. I love the aesthetic and vibe, it felt like home and comfortable yet very chic and modern while adding some pops and color here and there. Parking is tight but there is plenty of parking on the street. Highly recommend. 5/5 stars.

Cute little spot for breakfast. Everything I have had has been delicious. Good chilaquiles, breakfast burritos, and breakfast skillet. They offer non dairy Creamer options which I appreciate.

I recently visited Monkey Business Cafe for breakfast and had a fantastic experience. The cafe was not busy for 9am on a weekday, and we were promptly greeted by the friendly staff. We ordered 2 chilaquiles, one without protein and one with chorizo, a side of home style potatoes, and one order of pancakes. The food took around 10-15 minutes to come out, it was well worth the wait. The chilaquiles were absolutely delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the green chilaquiles - they did not disappoint! The side of home style potatoes was also very tasty and the pancakes were fluffy and satisfying. The total cost for our meal was between $50-60, which was a bit steep, but we felt that it was worth it for the quality of the food. The service was great overall. The staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel welcomed throughout our visit.

Presentation of chilaquiles outstanding Very colorful plate . But Needed more flavor. Yes the salsa was good and a bit spicy but had to add some salt on it. The tortillas were so hard and crunchy it was like I was eating chips with salsa . Wouldn’t order this plate again. The burritos on the other hand are the best. I recommend trying any of the specialty burritos. Can’t go wrong with that. The bowl of tater tots ! Super flavorful and the toppings are a perfect combo !

I enjoy this place, not just for the laid back atmosphere, but for the delicious food as well! I've never had a bad plate here and I can guarantee I probably never will. Good food will always bring them back.

I've been here before when I was trying their lunch items. They're hit or miss honestly... But their breakfast items? Knocked it out of the park! I had chocolate chip pancakes, and they were so good! Would definitely eat breakfast there again!

I must say that was my worst experience I ever had at a restaurant/cafe. Angie was very rude and so disrespectful. I asked her questions and she threw the menu in my face, ordered a hamburger without sauce to go but she still managed to get the order wrong. I ran many restaurants in Europe and if I had a employee as Angie I would fire her in a heartbeat! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and I will never go back there ever again.

It is a small restaurant, really nice inside very friendly, parking is limited. It was Monday morning a little busy, but fast service. Food was good not complains about taste, we order huevos rancheros, waffles, everything was delicious. Just one bad day we got a someone hair on our food .

Old Chili. Not the most welcoming service. Not the freshest food but edible. Perhaps we came on a bad day when mercury’s in retrograde? 😛 — we came for a breakfast brunch as our first time at Monkey cafe. The woman taking my order made it unpleasant to ask questions. Like as if she just wanted me to know and hurry up shut up. Service was slow so I wanted to connect with our neighborhood cafe, get a feel for what’s popular. Instead was the opposite. In that, the food arrived in 6mins!! All of it! Record fast. I smelled this sour spoiled milk like order. I naturally assumed it was the sour cream. So I eat, and eat! Just to realize my beans underneath might be the odor. (By now I’m packing to go) I asked when the chili was made, I’m told about two days now. Must’ve been left out. If I get sick or projectile vomit 🤮. I will reach out. Food could be better. The older lady curly hair was very sweet.

I'm sorry this place did not live up to the hype, The banana walnut pancakes were dry dry and imaginative. Don't like having my sauce and sit in a pile of grease. No sugar free syrup no creamers other than cream. Just not a home run today. But I will try it 2 more times. Just an honest review
