Got their BLT and let me tell ya...they do not short change you in the bacon department! I like The fact that they use green leaf lettuce instead of the cheaper iceberg lettuce like many places do. And they give you a decent amount of it as you can see in the pictures. They grill the bread with a little bit of butter along with serving the BLT with freshly sliced tomatoes. For $7.00, I highly recommend. The service there was exceptional, all the girls were sociable and absolutely kind. Whoever does the hiring does a great job! They practice social distancing guidelines very carefully and while I was there all I could see were multiple employees wiping down and cleaning the windows, the doorhandles, and all surfaces potentially touched by anyone. There was just an order out from the governor to stop all indoor dining and I noticed that this restaurant had all the chairs on top of their tables so that no one can sit down and eat. They are definitely compliant and very responsible. There’s been some places that I’ve been to that I decided not to make my purchase because the workers there we’re either unmasked or I would see that they weren’t up-to-date on their guidelines . I would definitely say this is a very very Covid safe place to get your food. They also have outdoor seating next to Placentia street. And You just have to love small business owners like this who give back to community By sponsoring youth sports. They are helping the children, your children. Let’s be thankful to small businesses like this and give back to them by supporting them by eating more burgers, BLTs, steak and eggs, and all the delicious food that they have to offer here. I wish some people would just put on a mask and stop trying to harass that 20 year old who works at Costco over your civil liberties. Have empathy for nurses and all the first responders along with servers, cashiers, etc. who have to work crazy overtime and risks their lives everyday serving your food and/or protecting you via being in Covid’s harms way. This is a cute little breakfast spot. They got solid food and friendly service. I ordered a Denver omelets with sourdough. The bread was so fluffy and buttery. The hashbrowns were crispy and flavorful. The omelets was fluffy and cheesy. Next time I would order with extra cheese cause I love cheese. My friends liked their food too, they got chicken sandwich and Chilli burger with onion rings.

Large portions. Food was basic comfort food. I had a veggie omelette with hash browns and sourdough toast. Indoor or outdoor seating. The best part was the humorous artwork on the walls! Truly appreciated the mirror replaced by "You look great!" cartoon.

TLDR: Come here and try them out. Great food with affordable prices. Open for breakfast and lunch. Don't sleep on this place. It is getting more difficult to find places to eat that are both affordable and taste great. Shorty'z definitely has these covered. I was looking for a spot to fill my craving for a pancake breakfast that wasn't one of the major chains. Those places are crowded, overpriced, and only mediocre at the best of times. The staff at Shorty'z were friendly and service was quick. While that is definitely a bonus, it isn't the part that I care about most at restaurants. It is really easy to mess up any of the parts of this meal, but Shorty'z delivered where it counted. Their pancakes were light and fluffy with a great flavor on their own. Cooked perfectly through and not the least bit tough.

Incredible breakfast burritos! Great size, super yummy, not greasy at all. The place was very clean and staff was extremely friendly! From the moment they took our order to when they picked up our plates, great service all around. Will definitely be back.

You are missing out if you have never eaten here. You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. So good! Friendly staff that make sure you are well taken care of. The owner is awesome!

**update: I have been back every weekend since I first came. I have tried their pancakes which are the best I've ever had, French toast, burrito, the biscuit and gravy and they are all wonderful. Every time I visit the staff is incredibly friendly & always refill your coffee just on time! As a business owner myself, this is one of the reasons I keep on coming back. The food and staff are the best. This is truly a hidden gem! ** I've been living in Placentia my whole life and have never been here! I finally had the best breakfast burrito in the area! I couldn't even stop eating to take a picture until I was almost done with it. I got the meats breakfast burrito (I think that was the name) and french toast breakfast. We devoured both. Everything was in my to go bag. The phone and pick up service was great and employees were friendly even after being there during the rush hour. Finally a breakfast that didn't end in disappointment. Can't wait to try their other items.

Good food, good people and great atmosphere. The California omelette was delicious with every bite. Buttered flapjacks an added bonus to my perfect breakfast in the afternoon. My first time visit and more visits to come. 😊👍

TLDR: average dinner with fast turnaround times, and cheap food, will visit again. Small dinner with in door and outdoor seating. I got the French toast combo, the French toast wasn’t too sweet or too bland. Overall the food was pretty average but for the price and the quick turn around I can’t complain. The prices are slightly higher than some of the pictures I’ve seen on here, maybe by a dollar or two. Will come back

Surprised at how good the food was, ordered a Shorty'z Breakfast, turned out to be a kid's meal. Asked for two eggs, well done toast, well done hash browns. Food was cooked to perfection, highly recommend.

Great service with friendly staff and fair priced breakfast items on the menu. They accommodate for special orders and are nice about it. I asked for a grilled cheese with grilled onions and tomatoes and it was perfect. The place is also decorated with amusing memes for the perfect conversation starter.

We order breakfast 😋 it was very good . I had the Ham omelet, and my friend had regular breakfast with a patty. The prize was good. The service was good.

Amazing portions for a great price! They are very generous with their bacon and the food came out lightning quick. Their pancakes were light and fluffy, their breakfast burrito selection included nice options like spinach and mushroom (delicious), and their omelettes were very hearty. Come here with a big appetite and you will not be disappointed.

Familia got the chocolate chip panquekis combo, French toast combo and veggie burger wit onion rings... And yes!! We all dipped on each others... Come on now!! Not getting all religious righ nawz, but I do believe in the All Mighty who is forgiving; My doctor, after consuming and partaking of all this delicious sumptuousness😋😛😜 Not so much. Come on now... This meal righ herrr... Just about death row, last meal worthy... The food alone n'ough said... Service also above and beyond spectacular. Cause look like a Mexican tyne estupe... I got there almost closing time. Even asked to take it to go, but they insisted that I stay and eat there. Great cozy family owned diner. You order the food at the counter and they bring it back to your seat when its ready. Very delicious breakfast fare. I favor the chicken fried steak entree. Crispy , juicy flavor in the steak with a nice country sauce. On top of that add the hash browns and way you go. The egg sandwich with sausage link was also very good. Nice friendly local place in Placentia everyone should visit.

Cooks are still burning the eggs. Chef... A hotter fry pan does not equate to a faster cooking time. It only burns the outside and leaves the inside raw or undercooked. -------------------------------------------------- Fast friendly service, good prices, large portions, but the cooks burn and over cook everything. They seriously need some cooking courses! Otherwise, I'd rate this place top notch for a family run business.
