Great location for our travel destination. Centrally located to quite a few great places to eat. Extremely friendly staff, clean rooms that seem nicely updated. Beds were a little too firm for us and the pillows are tiny, but we realize you cannot capture every single persons “preference” with things like that. Would absolutely stay here again.

The place was ok. Not Marriott's best standards. Had mold in the rooms. On room number 3. First room was not clean, room 2 had mold growing in it and had a sour smell. Room 3 still has mold in it. But it is better.

Very much enjoyed our visit. Night clerk checked us in and was very friendly. Gave us a couple bottles of water and told us about the free breakfast in the morning. Got to the room and it was fairly roomy and had a nice size bathroom and a big flat screen T.V. price for one night was pretty decent.

G.R.O.S.S!!! We had driven through some tough weather and crazy traffic from the Orlando area on a Sunday and we were ready to stop. I called the hotel when we were only 15 minutes away to book a room I had found listed on Priceline. I had questions about the room so I called there directly. The young lady on the phone could offer a better price than Priceline but was not able to answer my questions about the room. It was an "accessible room"(hearing) but didn't specify if it had an accessible shower. The girl whom I booked through was not sure. I asked about the bed height - another common accessibility question. Again, she's not sure. Are there any accessible rooms available that she knows has a roll in shower at least? Again, she's not sure. We hang up. I discuss with my husband and he says it's a Marriott, it's rated at 4.1 positive reviews, listed as a 3 Star hotel, "let's take our chances." I call her back and book the room. We arrive and the sign on the door reads: Excuse our mess while we remodel.... No problem, we've seen our share of messes. Walk in... No mess... Huh? The check-in desk is pieced together plywood. Jokingly we told the young lady checking in that this was the cleanest construction site we've ever seen... She answered politely but leading us to understand that she'd been working at that plywood desk for far too long & there was no indication that any work was being done to change that. We get our room cards and directions to the elavator. First we need our travel luggage and other items. There's 3 luggage carts in the entry, one was missing the floor to set things on. One was too difficult to steer. The one we settled on was a large cart screws were missing causing the top bars to be unstable and there were no hooks to hang things onto. Ok, we'll deal with it. Made it back in loaded & carrying some stuff. Took elavator to 2nd floor, took one breath Oh My God! What in Hell is that Awful SMELL!?!? So sour - yuk! I saidbif the room smells as bad, we aren't staying. Got to our door, took out the key card, but, nope, it was already open. The lock had been flipped to prop the door open. Cautiously, I open the door. No lights are on, but I can see a partially filled water bottle on a dresser. I called out, no answer. My husband enters the room, checks the closet, bathroom, behind curtains.... Nobody's in there. This is weird! Maybe housekeeping accidentally left her water bottle behind. Accidents happen, we'll overlook it. At least it's not stinky. We get settled so hubs gets 1st shower. It's a tub/shower and the only grab bar is along the wall where you enter. No grab bars within the shower. That makes me nervous as we both are fall risks due to disabilities. We took our chances...they did not pay off. Worse news: He comes out to tell me that the shower won't drain. I decide to skip the shower that night. The night is filled with odd sounds, but we sleep enough. We have to wake early as breakfast is only served until 9. Breakfast was decent, it just closed way too early for vacationers. Not everyone is in the area on business. A few minutes before 9, front desk/office staff scurries out to fix breakfast plates before it was rushed away. Got back to the room to shower and pack up to leave and as I enter the shower, I see why the water won't drain. A very inconsiderate guest before us shaved all of his/her body hair and the drain was super clogged. If housekeeping had cleaned the shower between that prior guest and us, she'd/he'd have known that the drain was clogged & hopefully would have addressed it. I am left to wonder if the shower was cleaned at all. No thanks, I'll shower at our next stop. Before leaving, I gather up a few items left on the floor by my bed that should've been vacuumed up... A contact lense, a few fruit snacks, a bobby pin, & a sticker. I took photos of the filth that you can see under the sink when sitting on the commode. Then, I used tissues to pull out some of the hair in the bathtub drain - took pics. Zero stars from this traveler!! Never again Fairfield Inn, no chance!!

There was nobody at the front desk most of my stay. The TV and remotes are very outdated. I’m really shocked. There were people that stay i the room above me that sound like they were bowling all day and night. Horrible experience

The hotel staff was polite and the property was clean. The indoor pool kept the kids entertained and the breakfast bar was fantastic!!

No issues. Large room and the largest bathroom I've seen in a hotel in a while. My room was clean and had no unpleasant odors. The building is old and you can hear your upstairs neighbors creaking a bit but otherwise it was quiet. The rooms have been updated in the last few years as nothing seemed outdated. Just a perfectly fine hotel. Staff was friendly and the check-in and out was a breeze.

Very well and supportive stuff. Complimentary breakfast has a wide range of variety. Very cooperative front office stuff. Rooms are clean. A big screen TV wishes you every morning thru the display. There are many food options near the hotels. Free wi-fi speed is very good but it is open. If the wi-fi will be password protected it can be more attractive to stay. Little bit out of the town but supper recommendation for stay.

We joined the Bonvoy group. We drove from Colorado to Florida. Tried different hotels on the way down but decided to ONLY use the Fairfield Inn by Marriott on the way back. Nice rooms, nice people and yes free breakfast; scrambled eggs, oatmeal, waffles, sausage coffee etc. It's nice not to have to look for a breakfast place when heading to the next destination!

Friendly staff can only help so much to make up for lack of extras at this property. Recent remodeling will remove the whirlpool. When combined with an undersized fitness area, the location and room are all you have left. The room is sadly pretty standard for this level of Marriott. There are plenty of nearby chain restaurants, but you are only 15 minutes from Uptown Birmingham and some great local places there.

Hotel was nice and clean. Everything was stocked up in our rooms. Hotel lobby was being renovated but hotel stay was still great nonetheless. Breakfast was also very good! Tasted homemade. Staff was nice and caring. Definitely recommend staying at this hotel!

Will do in a pinch. Rooms are older, updated fixtures in restrooms but infrastructure is old. Sinks take a few minutes to drain, a few bugs I’ve seen on the floor. Overall not the worst but leaves a lot to be desired. Bed is decent, air is cold.

The staff was very friendly and professional. I enjoyed my stay there and it's not too far from downtown Birmingham. There are a lot of creature comforts available in that area which compliments the services at the hotel.

This is the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed at!! The indoor pool was closed due to the pump being out. That's the only thing I can say that was disappointing. But the hot tub was open. The rooms are large, they have a decent breakfast. I do like the fact that no pets are allowed unlike many other Marriott properties. I'm allergic to pet hair. So this was refreshing I could breathe!!! Will most definitely stay here again!!

I didn't stay, but am very thankful that they took good care of my daughter during the winter storm before Christmas.

Stayed at this hotel on Tues Jan 3 2023. We had to change hotels at the last min. the other one was terrible. Jo Ann checked us in. She is the meaning of customer service. Look it up in the dictionary and you will see her picture. Despite the noise from the renovations she went above and beyond. We had a missing light bulb in one of the lamps . Jo Ann had it replaced right away! There was a problem with the wifi and she was on it! Jo Ann deserves full credit for making our stay enjoyable.

Checked in after driving 12 hours, Tv didn’t work, then phone didn’t work to call front desk, then body wash was empty when went to shower. Come on, I’m paying $200, take care of the place .

No computer or printer. Had to move me to another room because of Ac not working. Breakfast is better than some but still not worth the money at all.

Clean, but... the hotel was out of pillows. We needed some for the kids sleeping on the pull-out. The pull-out was supposed to sleep 2, but was barely big enough for our 2 young kids. The phone didn't have a cord, so you couldn't call the front desk. Certainly not the worst place, but definitely needs some work.

I wouldn't call this an exceptional Marriott hotel. I didn't have any Shampoo and Conditioner in my room. I caught a member of housekeeping in the hall and the gentleman who's name I did not catch had an exceptional attitude and great personality and promptly delivered both items to my room. The front desk upon arrival and departure were pleasant, welcoming, and friendly. The breakfast cook was a little grumpy but, from my days of food delivery to Marriott Hotels, this was somewhat common. The elevator floor had a broken tile and missing grout which is something I'm not used to seeing in a Marriott hotel but life happens. I would still rate my overall experience 5 stars. Courteous staff, clean room, clean gym, clean swimming pool and hot tub areas. Applebee's happy hour, Lowe's, and a Convenience store next door were all plus's.

I ordered dinner for my husband and confirmed with several customer service reps they would accept the meal and give it to him on his arrival- only for my husband to get to the hotel to find out the staff ate his pizza. I have contacted the manager several times for at least a pizza refund and l after more than 3 months he will not respond to me anymore. Even worse, I have included the general manager in all my emails and he is silent - won’t even take the time to reply. NEVER AGAIN MARRIOTT!!

Overall, it was fine. The staff were friendly, and the room itself was clean. I was put off by damages in the room (including a broken closet door, hunks of missing drywall, unpainted hole patches, and ceiling water stains). For a one-night stay, it wasn’t unacceptable, but I would be annoyed if I were staying longer. The public areas were well-maintained, just seems like some remodeling is in order for the rooms.

The association with Way Parking was misrepresented. Fairfield Inn Airport Parking lends to being located near airport. It is actually 13 miles from airport. Advertised free shuttle to airport which was no longer available but didnt know until actually chech in no parking attentant on requested refund was turned down because policy says have to cancel before check in date. makes me wonder about other services in hotel as well as Way parking. property.
