We were so lucky to get a table at Terra-Food Concept today. It was so amazing! The ingredients they choose, the way they are prepared and how they skillfully put them together is one of a kind. The service they provide is equally as enjoyable. Best meal we’ve had on Madeira, hands down. We will definitely be back for more! ⁣Vegan, vegetarian or neither, it doesn’t matter, you do not want to miss out on their culinary expertise!!! The food, the drinks, the service all 5 stars!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Best place for vegetarians in Funchal by far! Excellent menu and each dish was bursting with flavours. Great service, the owners were lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It was so good, we came here twice in one week and will definitely be coming when we visit Funchal again.

Best restaurant in Funchal by a mile. Excellently curated menu, high quality ingredients and varied dishes from around the world. Staff are extremely attentive and kind. A higher price point than other places in Madeira but it is worth it. Interior is simple. Highly recommend the wine tasting and truffles for dessert and the vegan brownie. Trying to squeeze another visit in before we leave Madeira!

Really great restaurant, probably one of the best in Funchal if you would like to go with something different than local seafood. They even serve polish bigos as a starter :) Menu is short, contains dishes from different regions of world. Nice service, interested in the client while whole visit, serving pre starters and after meals snacks in addition. Beautiful place inside, rustically decorated.

The food was out of this world. We were recommended this place from a friend but didn't expect it to be the best food on the island. The owners get the spices and items from other countries which makes each dish authentic to its origin. It was a magnificent experience to say the least. We went tapas style & shared several dishes with two others so we could experience most of the menu. The prices we're very reasonable and the staff was more than helpful. We will definitely be going back soon for another beautiful experience. 😍

Truly one of the most amazing food experiences we had. The vibe is cozy, warm and artsy. The two owners are so welcoming to all guests, and shared their story with us. The food was exquisite - it’s truly a gastronomic tour around the world, with top notch combinations, fresh ingredients, amazing taste, all in a fancy but casual environment. I can’t recommend this enough. Thank you Dawid and Jorge :)

I was really pleased to find this place. The staff are so pleasant and know their menu. The food is absolutely delicious and I love that the vegan options are clearly labelled. There is also vegan, organic wine - which is really nice. This place has a certain elegance to it and it is also tranquil. I highly recommend this place, it is definitely the nicest place I have eaten so far.

Absolutely wonderful food and service. Every dish we tried was delicious. Excellent presentation. Many vegan options.

The food was incredible and the service was phenomenal. I don’t like spicy food, and they kindly offered to switch out the sauce on the gnocchi dish. It was delicious. My husband got the fried rice and said it was his favorite meal he has had in Portugal. The cocktails were incredible. We highly recommend this restaurant.

If you are in Madeira (Funchal) you should visit TERRA for a lovely and tasty dinner. We actually went twice cause they had more on the menu we wanted to try out. The service was great and it felt like visiting someone you know for a nice dinner. Food is great. All wines are also by glass, which is a really great concept and not something we have seen before. If I should highlight and point out one dish it has to be the “chicken satay” - it was amazing! The sauce was so good! The plates are (in our/my opinion) quite big, so do consider to share the dishes if you wish to try several things on the menu. The spicy cauliflower was also really tasty, and did not feel like cauliflower at all. Quite spicy, so you have to love spicy food to try that one out. Biggest recommendation from here.

Terra - A Promising Concept with Room to Grow At Terra, the ambiance is welcoming, the vibes are delightful, and the staff exude warmth and friendliness. However, when it comes to the culinary experience, we anticipated a bit more balance, originality, or at least a focus on organic ingredients given the price range. It felt like a concept in progress, teetering between fine dining and casual fare, yet not quite hitting the mark. There was a certain je ne sais quoi missing. The Mango & Avocado salad, while flavorful due to its quality ingredients, left us wishing for a touch of uniqueness and a slightly larger portion. The Spinakopita didn't manage to dazzle; it was essentially spinach and feta encased in deep-fried pastry, lacking the desired flavors. The Chicken Satay, though decent, featured a rather thick sauce. Swapping coconut milk for soy sauce could elevate its profile. I really enjoyed the PHO - highly recommended Nonetheless, I'm encouraged to see establishments like Terra in Funchal, offering a different dining experience. I hope the owners continue to nurture and refine this concept, shaping it into something truly exceptional! 🌱🍽️ #TerraRestaurant #FunchalDining #FoodReview

In the world of startups we strive to “surprise and delight” - Terra achieves this and more with a creative modern menu, amazing and attentive staff (ask for their recommendations 👌🏽) and a fantastic European ambience. If you’re in Funchal, Terra is a concept you should explore. Highly recommended 🤌🏽

Because of the good reviews we booked a table here for this night and haven’t been disappointed. The tomato flavored Thai soup was tasty and good balanced, the bread with spread as well (I expected it a bit toasted). The tofu with banana, sesame seed oil and radish was as well an interesting play of flavors, maybe a touch too sweet for me, missing a bit spiciness - just my taste. The Sri-Lankan sunset main dish of my partner was a mix of many flavors, the orange and sweet potato purée definitely a highlight. She enjoyed the vegan feta as well. The vegan cheese plate for dessert was a great finish. Unexpected surprises. The service was very friendly, fast and attentive. Prices are a bit higher than average. The 0,75 bottle of sparkling water (San Pellegrino) for six euros is in my opinion a bit too expensive - it’s neither a five star hotel nor a Michelin starred place. For friends of fine dining I would recommend to come here for a dinner.

I recently dined at this restaurant offering world cuisine with a focus on local ingredients, and my overall experience was quite positive. The ceviche stood out as particularly delicious, providing a refreshing and tangy flavor. The méchoui was also flavorful, and the chocolate mousse served as a delightful conclusion to the meal. However, the King prawn did not meet my expectations, being slightly overcooked and not warm enough for my liking. On the other hand, the cocktail selection was diverse, with the "Gin Basil Smash" being especially delightful. The service was friendly and courteous, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant's decoration was beautiful, referencing the nature and heritage of the region. Overall, despite a few minor critiques, it was an enjoyable culinary experience in a welcoming setting.

Wow where to start, down a gorgeous side street in Funchal, you can take a seat outside on a terrace with views of fantastic architecture and traditional block pathways or you can sit inside in a bright and natural inspired setting, we visited just before Christmas and the interior was spectacular, full of real pine trees was so special. Now on to the real review, the FOOD! It’s the next day now and I am still dreaming of this food, fresh, creative, worldly, exceptional presentation and melt in the mouth dishes. We are here for a week and I will be going again! Staff are all so friendly and welcoming and make fantastic suggestions for food and drink parings and recommendations for cocktails which were all a piece of art. Couldn’t recommend more, terra team your amazing! MUST VISIT

TERRA Food Concept is my favorite restaurant on the island. Delectable food that delights the eye, nourishes the body and satiates and uplifts the mind and spirit. This is more than a restaurant to me. It is a haven of inspiration for my creative heart and soul. Each delicious dish celebrates travel as the best education. Vegan and vegetarian options are creative and flavorful. The people and the art of customer relations are first-class. My husband and I will be celebrating our 2 Year Anniversary living in Madeira. TERRA has been a beautiful part of creating the feeling of home. Jorge and Dawid put so much thoughtfulness, heart and soul into every aspect of TERRA and it is palpable. I highly recommend you experience the joy of TERRA.

Had a nice dinner there but not coming back. The food is of good quality but not exceptional although the prices suggest this. The drinks are especially over the top. (and I’m from London!) So much that is starts to feel unpleasant (€6,5 for a soda). The food portions are very small. We both left hungry. The atmosphere is better then most other restaurants on the island and the service is also great. I am not coming back because of the expensive drinks and small portions. If you don’t mind this it’s probably a really good place for you since the food is good quality.

We wish we had found this place earlier. The BEST food you can find in Funchal and all Madeira. The staff is super helpful with great sense of humour. The food is amazing. Every dish we order had been extremely tasty. I would recommend this place to anyone as there is great selection and you will definitely find something that suits you. 100% recommend

I live in New York, a place often regarded as the food capital of the world. And I don't say this lightly that this is undoubtedly on that level. Food wait times can be long, however you will quickly understand why. Each of the meals are extremely fresh and top quality. A huge selection of food from around the world that is updated regularly. The staff is also extremely friendly and they go the extra mile to make sure everything is satisfactory. Expensive, but well worthy for any foodies staying in Funchal. However do be advised that this is not quite the place for kids and picky eaters.

Interesting place, good service, when you come and when you ask for the bill they give small treats, it’s cute. Most of the things was tasty, but I didn’t liked 2 thinks: 1. My and my friends mushrooms (vegan burgenion) was too sour. 2. We waited too much time for main dishes.

A Funchal must!! We absolutely loved everything about Terra- the atmosphere, the staff and staff and of course the food! Huge variety of vegan and non vegan options. We loved the lumpia, TiKa Masala, and the Korean steak tartar. It gets better. The vegan Brownie with Ice Cream was the best I’ve ever had The owners and staff were all so friendly. I have a lactose allergy and try to find vegan restaurants, my husband has no restrictions and fully enjoyed Terra as the restaurant isn’t fully vegan. Cannot recommend more

This was not just eating it was fun and an experience. The food was fine, the service was excellent, super nice. The pics do not cover how good it was. You need to come to the Terra if you are in Funchal. Top tipp. We will definitely come back next time, not only the food but also the service was great. PS:It might be worth for a reservation.

Lovely place with lovely owners! The food quality and presentation are immaculate and the waiters and owners were very friendly. The starter we had was perfectly fried and the bread and butter/ red pepper paste was delicious. Hard to say what was our favorite food since all were really good! We did love the 4 chocolates and wines pairing dessert.

Tasty food, staff was friendly and nice. We tried several dishes and it was very good. As well we received compliments of the day and deserts to try after we finished the food. Really recommend if you want to try different cuisine in Madeira.

It was so refreshing to find a vegan place in Funchal, totally unexpected, and a delicious experience! The menu is pretty sophisticated, but without being pretentious. Just delicious food made with wholesome ingredients by people who really do care about providing great vegan and vegetarian fare, rather than doing it as an afterthought or because they think they should cash in on a growing trend. The owner was really welcoming and spent plenty of time talking to us about veganism, and about his passion for great food. Although much of my diet is plant based, I do still like some fish, so started with Green Mussels and Coconut in a Thai Green Curry Broth, followed by Ghati Masala Prawns and a fudgy vegan brownie. All my dishes were fresh, delicious and obviously prepared with love! If you are vegan/vegetarian I don't think you'll be disappointed with the delicious plant-based menu. The staff were really friendly, and the atmosphere was exciting. It's situated down a beautiful little street with lovely paving, and on a balmy evening, it's a real pleasure to eat alfresco! This will become one of our favourite eateries when we next visit Madeira for sure, and we’re really looking forward to dining here again!

Good place. Food is tasty, staff know what they are talking about. It was also surprisingly fast. The only downside is the interior. It is too sterile to me. I get that it is minimalistic but it could be a bit warmer or more welcoming.

Very nice, special and good looking food, they have very good vegan and vegetarian options (not exclusively) available. The servers are very friendly and are always there to tell you more about their food. I will definitely go there again!
