I learned to dive there back in 2018 by doi g my OWD certification and have come back this year to get my Adventure OWD certification. Overall, the staff is passionate and caring, the accommodations such as the pools, the easy access to the sea and boats as well as the many showers and the abundance of material are perfect to learn and enjoy diving. (The material is in great condition too.) To give you an idea of the professionalism; I forgot my diving logbook today at the dive center and they got it delivered it to my hotel less than 4h later. Hope to be back soon to dive again, and thank you to all the instructors and staff for everything!

My wife and I (both experienced divers) spontaneously booked a few TGs here during our Madeira vacation. Wilfried and his team are very nice, professional and always helpful. We brought our own regulators and borrowed the rest of the equipment. Everything perfect. Going into the ocean with only pool fins wasn't really my thing, so I spontaneously bought a pair of booties. It is also very positive that the guides often check the air and don't just have the usual 100 bar displayed. Top!!! The dives were great, the visibility conditions were almost perfect and the wreck of the Afonso Cerqueira is definitely a highlight. It is also very positive that you can decide spontaneously whether you want to do one or two TGs. Since the base is very centrally located in Funchal, you can easily take a short stroll through the city after diving. Next time we'll come back for a "real" diving holiday and then explore all the dive sites. Kind regards from Michael and Regine

My boyfriend and I decided to dive, but we had no equipment. The staff called us, advised us when will be the perfect conditions to do the dive and rent us full equipment. Our dive guide was super simpatico, they all spoke perfectly good english and the dive was amazing. I recommend this experience to anyone! 🤩

We had an incredible time watching a kindergarten of baby Common Dolphins before snorkeling with a large pod of Spotted Dolphins. Lovely friendly crew who looked after us all from start to finish 🐬

Excellent. It must be difficult to please all the people all of the time, but they get pretty close! Clean, tidy, well maintained and possibly more importantly, safe! Guide/ instructors (who are no strangers to Dove products) with 'Hollywood' good looks adaptable to all standard of diver....

We went on a sea trip to see the marine fauna. We saw Atlantic pilot whales and it was incredible until we realized we wouldn't swim with them. The center offers a price of €45 without equipment rental for the outing and €57 for equipment rental to swim with the animals. We took the 57€ option without really having a choice since you have to go into the water to reach the boat... Since we wanted to swim with the animals, it didn't bother us. Unfortunately, that day there was a lot of swell and pilot whales in a hurry since it was impossible to stop the boat in this weather and what's more the animals were tracing their route... Finally after finding out in more detail, to swim with animals you would need a calm ocean and immobile animals, like a whale? What are the chances of coming across a whale in calm weather and being able to swim with it? Finally we are sold a "swimming with dolphins" service when the supervisors return from a dive and know that there is swell + the fact that the probabilities of getting into the water to swim with dolphins are extremely weak. Basically we paid 12€ more for equipment allowing us to swim not with the dolphins, but up to the boat... Seriously, look at the competition, you'll get it for less and you'll stay dry.

Very nice dive done with this center on the Corveta Afonso Cerqueira wreck. The organization is rigorous, whether for the preparations for the dive or the communication and confirmation of the reservation on this site. Diving levels taken into account. With another experienced diver we were able to stay longer than the novices which was very appreciable. The only downside: you have to jump into the water to get on a boat a few dozen meters further on, but the geography of the place doesn't allow you to do otherwise.

I would happily recommend Madeira Dive Point to anybody visiting Madeira and considering scuba diving. My daughter is 16 and is fairly recently PADI qualified, so has limited experience. The staff here were wonderful with her. They were reassuring and supportive, whilst giving her the independence to learn for herself. They recommended a shallow shore dive initially, so they were able to assess her ability and confidence. The following day, she went on a boat dive with a small group. She was thrilled to have seen Moray eels, Grouper, Barracuda, and a whole range of other smaller and brightly coloured fish. This is a holiday she will definitely remember for a lifetime. We had a great first ever diving experience here. The staff was knowledgeable, professional and very friendly. The equipment is a bit old but still functions well. In the sea we saw lots of different species right off the coast of the hotel. Would’ve loved to fill the 3 hours, but my tank ran out, so we were forced to stop after 2,5 hours and didn’t get a refill. Still, would definitely recommend for a first dive.

We booked a diving course for beginners and were thrilled. After the briefing, which was very detailed and conscientious, there was a short training session in the pool. All the exercises were explained very well, so you don't lose much time and can get into the sea quickly. In the sea, you always have the feeling that you are in good hands. The instructor is very attentive and tries to show as much as possible. The dive is also adapted to the group. We had a great insight and can recommend it to everyone.

We had 4 dives at Madeira divepoint. Respectively their house reef, Garajau national park (2 times) and the Afonso wreck. All 4 dives were good, water visibility around ≈25M - we saw a lot of fish, hereunder squids, octopuses, groupers, triggerfish and barracudas. We are not experienced divers, but found ourselves to be in good hands, both by the instructors and the really helpful staff on ground. Dives were executed well, and the plan was well laid out by the dive masters. During our deep dives (Garajau and Afonso), we were descending to around 22-28 meters, even though we were divers with mixed qualifications. We were both AOWD, but OWD joined us on the same dives. The rental gear was okay, but we have seen better equipment state at the previous places we have been diving. However, all in all a good experience - which we can recommend to others.

Snorkel with the dolphins... it sounded very interesting. We were very excited to be really swimming with the dolphins. We got to see pilot whales which was a 50-60% chance. After watching them for about 10 minutes we had to leave witch is normal so that the animals can be alone again. The chance to see the dolphins (90%) chance didn't work out. After reading some reviews, I understood now that it's almost impossible to be actually snorkeling with the dolphins. It depends on the species and other stuff. The boat ride, what it should be advertised as and not swimming with friendly dolphins, was great. It was a good 2 hour boat ride. The price was ok. advertising as swimming with dolphins is not ok. Because it will almost never happen. That's just a tourist catcher. And it got me.

The staff is nice. We saw some dolphins, no whales. The dolphins had babies, so we were not allowed to go into the water. That is alright of course, we didn't want to bother them. After 20 minutes we had to leave the group alone, they started to strike the water with their tailfins, as a sign they are stressed by our presence. We were exactly 2 hours in the boat, as advertised. One of the skippers collected trash from the ocean, that shows how much they care :)

Great diving albeit with prices that were somewhat inflated. Best to bring own gear. Otherwise they charge 5€ for every item you need to rent. The main reason I don’t give 5 stars is they only take cash. No ability to take credit nor debit cards.

Well trained instructors, very well organised shop, well fitted wetsuit and good sites. That said, instructors mocked me around basic things like mask, or having an iPhone in a waterproof case on a boat. Wondering if that was the case if I was carrying a $1,000 underwater Cannon with me. On top of that one of the instructors was touching the wildlife and encouraged it, it’s shouldn’t be happening.

We have been dived with different dive centers so far, but here we couldn’t feel that friendly and welcoming environment that we are used to in the diver community. The two Portuguese dive guides were very nice, but the owners, especially the lady, not in particular. She always corrected something in the wording like we were teenagers, which is a big mistake if you work with clients and offer a service. Besides, we found them unorganized, they didn’t have a plan or recommendation where to go diving, they just said, it was up to us, which makes the decision a little but difficult as we are just tourists and have no idea which dive sites are worth a dive. We missed the proactivity regarding recommendations and help. On the first day, we had to ask for the equipment several times and the owner started arguing when we asked for a bigger tank because of the usually higher air consumption, however the customer should know it better if he is an experienced diver… The dives were ok, but eventually we switched to another dive center, because we hadn’t receive any response for days via WhatsApp, however they read my message right away, but not even an “ok, thanks for your message” came… If you are used to the open-minded, extremely friendly and cool diver community, I would recommend to choose another dive center on the island as all of them visit the same dive sites

Chilled, yet very professional staff. Center can be recommended for beginners as well as for experts. Cool diving spots can be reached by boat.

Madeira dive point gave me one of my most memorable days of diving as We made our way to earn my PADI Open Waters certification here. End to end process is simple and unfussy, the center is clean, it’s centrally located, PADI certified and above all has very kind, best and careful instructors. Lee is absolutely amazing in ensuring you feel at ease and enjoy the course! Super grateful to him and the team to offer a wonderful course. Highly recommend!

I did a refresher session and my friend did a taster session, after that went diving off the coast. Really nice area with lots of fish and other creatures. The instructors were great too! They organise some really cool trips on the boat. If I had more time would definitely join that.
