Had the pulpo (chef's choice) that came drenched in oil and a decent amount of vegetables. It was super simple but quite delicious, despite the drops of oil that came running down my fork whenever I lifted it to my mouth... I tried my friends fish "squares" (it was neither a whole fish nor a filet it was mashed and battered, fried and seasoned) as well and the seasoning was on point! All in all I really liked the food. The ladies working there were also very friendly! 🌸

Great service and lovely staff. Hands down the best seafood rice in Madeira. I’ve also tried a few other dishes here and they are all excellent. The caramel tart is the cherry on the cake. They are so kind to even let me try their dish of the day: cow tripe lol. 10/10 recommended!

My favourite restaurant in Funchal. Family-run, lovely and warm service and beautifully prepared and above all super delicious Portuguese food.

An excellent, if unassuming, authentically-local restaurant, hidden in a quiet street just off the main centre of Funchal. Don't let the ordinary exterior or informal surroundings put you off, the food and service are excellent. Better quality and lower cost than most of the restaurants along the main streets.

A good place to haven't dinner. Unlike many restaurants in the city center, they won't try to "politely push" you to sit and eat, because this place is an 'old school' family like restaurant than the tourist traps all around! We had a great time sitting and dining there, the two lady waitresses are adorable, funny and friendly!

We had the seafood rice and it was excellent. The garlic bread was nice hot and toasted. The peach dessert was also very good.

Very good food, more than decent the prices and good service. Located in an area less on tourist path, let's say, but close to it, worth eating here especially the seafood rice which is a sort of paella - very tasty and big portions for one person. We totally recommend it!

Situated in the city center on a less crowded street, this restaurant's exterior might not hint at the exceptional cuisine it offers. We dined there twice; the seafood was the finest I've ever tasted, served in generous portions. Their sandwiches were also delectable. Their homemade Poncha is robust and flavorful. In addition to the excellent food, it is surprisingly affordable, making it the most budget-friendly option among the restaurants we visited.

Dinner was great! The restaurant is everything you want in Madeira, typical food, served generously and with love! I took the chicken with sweet potatoes, it was delicious. I recommend and will definitely come back! 10/10

Absolutely lovely place. The food was excellent, simple, but sooo tasty. And above all the staff really wanted us to have a cultural piece of Madeira that we appreciated so much ❤️. They truly love their guests and they made sure to show it to them. Wondering if enough tip has been given.

Very, very good food, perfect service and such a friendly atmosphere (thank you! :) ). There was also a veggie option which made my friend quite happy (in Funchal it can be hard to eat as a vegetarian). We ordered the bolo (traditional "bread" with garlic and parsley) and tomato soup as a starter, the traditional fish with banana (surprisingly good! I loved it!), and the veggie dish (which they then explained it was a Venezuelan dish - really tasty as well!). We liked everything and we definitely recommend it!!

Sautee shrimp with garlic, seafood Rice and octopus are superb. Ponchas and sangria made fresh to order, a gem in Funchal, everything was amazing. Fresh and delicious food.

20 second walk from our apartment. The closest bar had shut at 10pm. 11.00 here.in this bar/restaurant. Long day drinking. The bar is slightly offset from Jan 31st st. Next to a good wine bar. Interesting street with several bars and esteries.

I only have good things to say about Sanor Tropical. The food was so good and flavour was just right. Menu was simple but every dish was very well made. And the poncha was good!

We had a delicious lunch of seafood rice and will return. Obrigada to the chef! The staff were attentive, kind and very helpful. Low key atmosphere and a few outside tables. Highly recommend 👌.

Very nice place where we twice enjoyed delicious food. A specially seafood was amazing, nice portions, fresh food and tasty. I recommend shrimps in garlic sauce or spaghetti with seafood (portion is enough for two). Top place.
